They forgot to mention that NPIH is still selling about 1500-2000 copies per week in France, so we will know the total sales next spring. Anyay, total world wide sales will be better than for TOOL (thanks to the sales in Italy where the album is still in the top 30), they are about 200 000 now.

Mika told on C à vous TV show yesterday that his role lasts more than one minute. He was supposed to do a simple cameo first but finally they included a longer sequence in the film.

Thank you Chloé. The first time they really talked about the symphonic CD being included in the repackage. The special edition needs more promotion: you can hardly find it in stores in France, because they prefer selling Adele, Kendji and Louane before Christmas. A really nice live of J'ai pas envie in the end.

Hey I didn't translate the whole interview... This is the chunk that I thought was the most impacting.
By the way, if the post is out of place, feel free to transpose it somewhere else, I'm not really familiar with the new system you guys have for threads and things.
Interviewer: I know you are working with a producer that worked with Adele and Pharrell Williams, you never separate with that producer?
M: Uh... Now we are separating a bit. *laughs very awkwardly* Like every love stories, and to me it was not a love story at all with him, but at times, things become complicated simply because we know each other too well. So now, at the moment, we are having a break.
Interviewer: A little break... Maybe to reunite after?
M: Uh... Now I don’t see that... *awkward laugh, awkward interview*
Interviewer: I love your spontaneity...
M: Yeah it’s true... I’m not hiding it, I can’t see a sequence [aka he can’t see himself work with him in the follow up], not now... But it’s fine, it’s more complicated the relations with people, our team, our musicians, our producers... It’s as complicated as marriage.
Interviewer: And when there is marriage there might be a divorce.
M: Yeah of course.
nterviewer: *awkward laugh*
M: *awkward silence*
I also wonder what happened with Greg. Mika seemed so categorical whan he said that they won't work together any more.
Thank you Eriko for the links!

Mika was very natural and perfect in this show. I think that the presentator Cyril Hanouna was trying too much (I almost pitied him ). I am not sure if he is always like that, because it was the first time I watched the show (for Mika, bien sûr!).

Apparently they sold 5 000 tickets (half of all the tickets) in 40 minutes. They aren't any tickets left on Ticketone's site, but you can still find them on festival's site.

Am I the only one who is annoyed by the:
People are talking to themselves - they think they're talking to someone but they're talking to themselves.
Really Mika?
I was also wondering why he wanted to repeat these words. Is it intentional, like in Ordinary man ( "just like every man does x 2") or just a lack of insipiration ?
Anyway, I still love Mika's only version and would like it to be released as a single - with a Mikalike video.

I saw some tweets about that episode. Mika seems to have been quite wild last night: Fedez said they would sing BD next week at the final of X Factor if the video gets 1 million views in one day (it is out this afternoon at 3 p.m.) and Mika added to that: "naked", but seemed quite surprised by his own words.

Thank you very much Vv! I wanted to download Make you happy... and now I am happy.

Here's the recording, guys. A little bit crash at the beginning and during "Good Guys" and "Stardust".

Great! Thank you so much.

I could not watch it, but I recorded it: thank you, Eriko, for the tips you gave me . My file is quite large and I missed a couple of songs because of a slow connection, but if no other recording is available I can share mine. Better than nothing, at least while we are waiting the DVD
Yes please! I couldn' watch it.

I love this song, he is one of my favorites. The slow voice, the instrumental.. All.
It could be a good single to radios !
I like it, but it will never be one of my favorite songs because it's too repetitive. I would prefer hearing BD (Mika's version) on the radio.

I absolutely love this version.

Yes, that's basically it
That's what I tought. Looking forward to hear it, perhaps on friday if I can download the digital version first.

Yes, the repack I have includes the Mika only version of Beautiful Disaster. I think it's beautiful & much prefer it to the version with Fedez
Thank you! I just asked you about it on the other thread.

I got the NPIH repack (French edition) this morning & love the version of Beautiful Disaster without Fedez
Thank you, finally a confirmation that this version really exists ! I was so confused with all these different NPIH repackages. So how is it? Is it slower and less electronic than the Fedez & Mika version?
-
I received my copy of the album repack (French version) in the post this morning (preordered from Mika's store). I haven't listened to the first disc yet (although I did note that it includes the new version of Hurts which I loved when I heard it in London last month) but the second disc is fantastic & I'm really enjoying the orchestral arrangements of the songs
I just preordered also a copy but from Fnac's site (a French store). Do you have Mika's version of Beautiful disaster on it? I would like to know if it really exists...
-
Great, thank you!

I am definitely trying to not put down anyone's opinions or pick on anyone because everyone has that right to share what they believe. I am just trying to express that I feel (no-one has to feel the same way I do) that it's turning into who has the "right" opinion on Mika's music. Then again, the is my opinion, you can agree or disagree, but please try not to invalidate what I've said.
You are of course right with that. Our musical taste can varie a lot even if we all here like at least some of Mika's songs (in my case perhaps 90% of them ), that's why we are here. There can't be a good or a bad opinion about one particular song.
It is however interesting to discuss his career and musical choices and try to find out what his plans are for the future. I would like him to do as well as possible everywhere and sometimes I just wonder if he is aware of the consquences of his or his team's choices at the moment. I think that an international version of the reissue would have been better at least for commercial reasons.

Hello Eriko! I see you are online. Did you also record the Xtra Factor? I would like to see Mika with Iron Mais.

But not every artists wants millions fans or people who buy the record. And artist wants to share what he or she has created and that's where the completely story ends. No-one needs to tell him what he has to do. If his next album is completely in French he will certainly sell a whole lot less records, if that what he wants to do that's okay. That's his choice, an artist isn't any better 'cause he sold million of records and fills stadiums instead of small rooms with an acoustic feeling.
(And I guess the thing he said about getting laid was just a jokingly expression to show people he reads their comments and what they think about it. He didn't probably mean to offend anyone in their, or at least, I wouldn't take it like that ;-))
In Mika's case, it is difficult to think that he wouldn't like to sell as many records as possible. He was really exited when Beautiful Disaster went #1 in Italy and by his #1 in France with TOOL etc. I think he hasn't already forgetten the big succes he had in 2007-2008 and really enjoys the big concerts, but he can still do also intimate gigs in countries like USA. I agree with you the record sells don't always reflect the quality of the music, but money he earned with LICM gave him the possibility to do those acoustic gigs after the relese of Songs of sorrow and bigger record sales could give him this kind of liberty.
About that BBB thing: I do also think that it was just a clumsy joke done in the heat of the last gig. I hope people don't take that too seriously.

A choice between pleasing a very small group and alienating the 8 million people who bought your earlier albums are not equal options with equal consequences.
I agree with you about that point. There should be a real international version for all the albums in order to leave the choice to people outside France (or Quebec and Belgium etc.) to listen to songs they prefer and not limite his market the way he does at the moment. I am also a little bit worried in beforehand by his French songs because there have been some of them I don't like. Anyway, I think his team wanted to make sure the reissue would sell in his best selling market (=France) or then it was just Mika's (bad) idea.

Can we really relay on that website: http://www.aficia.info/actualite-musique/jai-envie-cest-mika-dit-63829?
At least the real sales aren't already that good (about 85 000 in France) and there's nothing on Mika's Facebook or twitter.
