  1. Hi Folks. I applied for tickets as soon as they announced it was going to be in Blackpool (its my hometown, some of you may remember !).

Sadly got nothing back. I have just picked up my local free paper though and as I'm a resident I can enter a competition to win free tickets.

    I've just entered :biggrin2:

    Fingers crossed for me folks......

Its an outside chance, but someone has to win them (3 pairs to give away)

Just off to tell mikalove too as she's a local......

  2. I was bursting! :aah: My kids thought it was "cool" - especially when I called from my mobile and said "You're not going to believe what I'm doing right now! I've just taken my first break from painting Mika's balls, and we've just watched the sunset outside on the balcony, and he took my hand earlier with the brush and showed me how to apply brush strokes, and he asked me for candy but he didn't want my muddy Rolos and he's rehearsing on stage and he's buying pizza for everyone and a man fell off a ladder and almost landed on Zoots and she's going to be a Big Girl dancer and daddy's been chatting with Mama Penniman all night about who-knows-what, and...."

Then silence on the phone. Hello? You still there?

"That's cool mom" (nonchalantly from 14 year old boy). :aah:

Aww bless, that sounds just like how i would have been on the mobile too !! :teehee: except for my boy is only three and probably would have shouted Mika, Mika I want to speak to Mika !! He is very bossy and is a big fan !! :biggrin2:

  3. Oh goodness, I can't believe that it's turning up everywhere, and that they are spinning it like he needed the cash. Truth is, the initial planets had been messed up, or done the wrong way, so they needed to redo them.

And yes, he spent hours working with us and chatting and stuff, and we all ate together at the end, including the band, as they were all rehearsing in the meantime. Mika was spending time with us painting and later rehearsing, and we watched them when we were done for a good while, before we all ate. It was fantastic. He even practised the BG dance with Zoots on stage, and fell on his knees and bowed to her when she did it so well, hahaha.

Thanks for responding Sara. Sounds like you had the BEST time. This kind of situation is why I think Mika is so unique and I LOVE him for it :wub2:

I bet you were bursting to share weren't you ? Its so funny after asking you all to keep it quiet he blabbed to the press. He does love his MFC thought doesn't he ? Perhaps that was why...... :teehee::biggrin2:

** Oh and I forgot to say lucky Zoots !!!**

  5. See you there :biggrin2:

    Will Do ! :biggrin2:

I'm bringing my hubby this time. Its his first Mika gig - I hope he enjoys it as much as I've been bigging it up !

I'm a little disappointed its standing in the stalls, but I suppose I should have expected it really. I'm sure it'll be a great atmosphere for everyone who is in the queue and dancing about in the stalls.

I was in the balcony at Sadlers Well's and it didn't stop me enjoying the gig....

I think I'm still trying to convince myself :teehee:

  6. Some of the seats at the Apollo are on the balcony. The standing floor is on the ground floor.

Thanks Sarah, I don't do standing anymore at gigs (Radio 2 Blackpool was an exception !) so looks like I'll be at the front of the circle somewhere. Sorry MFCers I will have to wave to you from there :teehee:

I wonder when we will find out which row (probably 2 weeks before when the tickets arrive !!)

    Ho hum

  7. LOL Oh dear. *hugs you*

I'm gonna go back to bed for half an hour. And stick the heating on so it's all nice and toasty when I return. :thumb_yello:

    Aww thanks *hugs back*

My little boy is wide awake and bouncing on the bed (he's nearly 3), so no going back to bed for me :teehee:

I want to buy, buy, buy !!! Why is no-one but us on here and chatting ? Less than an hour to go (hopefully if its BST and not GMT+1)........

  8. So part 2 of my report of the Jools Holland night....

At some point Mika's turn came, and he did his first performance of BIOTG that night. He seemed quite at ease I think, and like he was enjoying it quite a bit. Before he started playing for the cameras he was sitting at the keyboard playing a bit and pretending to sing, and it was really cute. He was jsut "getting ready" I guess, but it was sweet. The band were all in really good spirits and the atmosphere was just really relaxed and great. During BIOTG Mika was looking in our direction a lot, and I think that he quite liked the clapping that we did because he requested more of it when we started to wane :roftl:. It was funny.

What else? Gosh, its' so hard to remember bits and tell them in order. I find myself remembering bits here and there but not sure of which order they came in. Ok so the format was pretty much: when it was his turn to perform he did his songs, looking at the camera in front of him of course, but also looking in out direction every now and then, and you could just feel that when we'd shout or move a lot or make noise he got like a bit of extra wind, and started jumping about more or stuff like that :naughty: It was funny.

At some other point he changed his shoes, from the spiky Loubotins to the high spikey converse looking Loubotins (I think they are also L??). He was wearing red socks btw which I found hilarious, not sure why. He also had his hair fixed in between takes with some hairspray that some chick put on him :roftl:. His hair reminded me a bit of Edward Scissorhands last night, so IMO not the best look he's had. I really don't know what it is with Mika and his hair and clothes, but I always find that he looks perfect and absolutely gorgeous after gigs, but then I don't quite like his look DURING the gig as much. Weird. He did look stunning as usual, just because he is beautiful so he can't NOT look good, but you know what I mean.

Oh something else that was also funny was that they kept polishing the piano that they brought for him to do PUOTF on (goodness how bad does that acronym sound :roftl:) and it was just really funny to see the roadie polishing. It reminded me (and I told him) of the scene in Karate Kid where he goes "wax on, wax off" :lmfao:

Jools came up at some point when Mika was sitting at the piano and they were joking around playing with the lid, opening and closing it and laughing but I'm not sure what the story was there.

Other bits...Hmmm...At one point Mika was just sitting there like a little boy waiting for his turn, biting his nails. That was sweet. He's so different from the "popstar" when he's being himself, and I think that this is one of the reasons why I like him so much. HE's just so sweet and refreshing. Not affected and up his own ass.

I must say though that I think that he was watching us as much as we were watching him. Throughout the night I could see him looking at us on many separate occasions, not when he was performing but just when he was waiting around and everyone was doing different things. He was just stalking errr observing us :biggrin2: and often laughing. I remmeber at one point I just looked and smiled at him, so he pulled this funny face and then started sort of laughing. As others said, it was just really relaxed and there was a lot of naturally happening banter/interaction. Oh and it was really hilarious when he noticed the "Rain dance moves" and came around laughing and said "what was that all about?", but he was doing the moves totally wrong :lmfao: and it looked like he was riding a horse :naughty:. Just really funny. I guess that some of these things seem really hilarious when you're in the situation but not as much when you're being told a day later so bear with us if we go on about these things and you don't find them funny or even remotely interesting :aah:.

What I did find very sweet is that after the first song that he did, BIOTG, he looked really happy and mouthed at us "well done!". It just seemed like he was honestly pleased about how it had gone, and the support that he'd gotten, because seriously, some of that audience looked like they didn't hve any more life in them than a freaking cold fish. I really wonder why some people bother going to these things and "fighting" for a front position when they are not willing to get into the spirit of things. Weird.

After the show he also seemed really happy and he thanked us for being there, saying that if it hadn't been for us there wouldn't have been any atmosphere there at all. Damn right he was :naughty:.

Ok, let me post this and I will recap and think of a few more bits now in a minute......

Thanks for the report Sara. Lots of little insights in there. I enjoyed reading it. I've only seen the Tuesday show so far of course, but I thought he seemed to be in a really good mood and looking at the MFC loads. The Rain Dance move is fab :teehee: Lovin' it !

  9. Thanks for all your reports. Only seen a little of the programme so far, but got the rolling eyes from hubby when I started shouting look there's Cazgirl, oooh and I think that was Jemma.

Soo funny I've not even met Cazgirl but I recognised her from photo's on here !! :biggrin2:

I got really excited to see fellow fans ! How sad am I ?

Hubby is a fan (but not in the MFC), but just sighs and goes - hmm its those MFCers again !!!! :teehee:

Glad that the MFC are getting some recognition ! Everyone get behind the Mika fans and announcing that some Mika fans were there when you all arrive - MFC ROCKS !! :roftl:

Looks like you all got a great view (shame about the t-shirt Rose). Mika looked a little weary at the beginning to me (too many late nights ? :teehee:). Once he got into BIOTG he seemed to brighten though.

  10. I have been mostly following this thread. I've not read every single post, but the main gist.

I just wanted to throw in a few observations.

20 or 30 years ago, if you were a fan of someone, the most you could expect would be to send off a postcard to join their fan club. In return you would recieve stickers, badges, pictures and a quarterly update on what they were doing, or something very similar.

Obviously times have changed and SOME people in the public eye are a lot more savvy in relation to the internet via things like twitter, myspace etc

Like our lovely Mika of course !

We have a LOT more access to him, what he thinks, getting chance to meet him etc than people EVER did in the past.

He does THE most generous things for his fans, but mostly especially his fan club. He has said on numerous ocassions how amazing he thinks we are :wub2:

I was lucky to personally witness this at Blackpool where he said some lovely things about us always being there for him etc

At the end of the day he works hard and is well known for what he does. No-one has any rights over what he does, but himself and his management.

I would love to go tomorrow, but its just not practical for me. I will enjoy people's reports on here instead and live it through them :thumb_yello:

I don't mean to have a dig at anyone here in any way, but I think your perspective on life changes when you are older, and you just appreciate the opportunities that pass your way, and try not to lament too much on what could have been.

This post is far too long now :roftl: so I'll just say I hope everyone has a great time tomorrow and I look forward to the photo's and reports ! :biggrin2: xx
