Hi Punky :bye: I was stood behind you in the queue (with the pink flower in my hair). I remember how excited you were to meet him and that you had a lovely giggle. I'm glad he gave you a nice smile.

It was nice to meet you.

  3. Tee hee - you didn't get my forum name right either... but don't worry - people are always confusing Blue Sky and myself :huglove: Hubby is 'Jesterkevin' and it was great to meet you - thanks for your report.

Big thanks for everyone else's reports / vids / pics - it's always interesting to hear different viewpoints and peoples experiences, wish we could re-live it all... sigh :wub2:

    Whoops, sorry about that :blush-anim-cl:

Lovely to meet you Blue Eyes and Jesterkevin (glad he cleared up what happened about the signing with Daz etc)!

Forgot to say on my report, atmosphere was fantastic - even up there in the 2nd circle. It took a while for people to get up, but when they did they stayed dancing !

Thankyou Mika you put on a show to remember ! :wub2:

  4. Hi,

I'm fairly new to MFC and this was my first Mika gig.

Just wanted to share my report on the whole night.

I was in the second circle (too much debating on whether to go or not and missed the nearer seats).

I arrived and looked around for MFCers, they seemed to be everywhere, but all busy chatting. I said Hi to Mrs Fluffington, but then stood around looking a bit lost.

Anyway, I didn't realise that you couldn't go straight in and went to the doors (which were blocked) and heard some of the soundchecking stuff, just music though, not Mika).

When we finally got in and seated I got chatting to a lovely lady called Diane. She has a daughter who is friends with one of Mika's sisters and knows the family well. She has known Mika since he was 12 and had some interesting things to say about him and his family background.

I think she was there out of curiousity as she knew him, not really because of the music as she kept asking me "is this a new one?" etc

I thoroughly enjoyed the gig - the set was dressed in typical Mika fashion and I loved the whole thing. I would say that he really makes it a magical experience. I LOVED the whole thunderstorm/umbrella thing and all that glitter - awesome !

I also enjoyed Lollipop and the huge balloons. On a diversionery note, my two year old calls it the "sarah song" as in "say love, say love ooh loves gonna get you down" - sweet !

I came out on a high and headed straight to the stage door, I got moved over to the queue of course, but not before I nearly walked into the back of Brian May !! (oops).

I was just in front of Daz, Blue Sky and her husband in the queue(sorry forgot your forum name) and got chatting to them. The report of Daz asking Mika for an autograph was pretty spot on, I was shaking Mika's hand at the time (although sadly he wasn't looking at me !). So thanks Daz as I got my EP signed because of you !

It was lovely to meet you all and Jemma too. Thanks for letting me tag along like a sad and lonely person to the tube. It was nice to have someone to chat to on the way back ! :biggrin2:

Now i can't wait for another gig and hopefully we can get a sitter and my poor hubby who had to stay home and babysit could come next time !

  5. I think the codes thingy is now officially delayed as they simply forgot to mail them for some... We were promised to get them next week only...

( Although I do have a code with the gig ticket... so confusing  )

I too have a code for the gig but not for the EP download - but what are they for ???????????????:dunno:

  6. Calling all New Yorkers, attention all American citizens - hell, this goes out to anyone across the globe who can get to the Big Apple on June 23…

    It’s a Mika show!

Mika will play (Le) Poisson Rouge on 158 Bleeker Street, between Thompson & Sullivan, NYC, USA on Tuesday, June 23.

(Le) Poisson Rouge is an over-18 only venue, soi please make sure you have suitable ID if you think you’ll need it.

A special fan presale will run from Tues 26th May 2pm (EST) and 10pm (GMT) exclusively via mikasounds.com.

Tickets will go on general sale from Thursday, May 28th via the usual outlets.

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines…

  7. Thanks CazGirl, reading the threads on here, I got the feeling this kind of thing has happened before (just find disorganisation or being unorganised really annoying !)

I can't go to any other gigs (except if its an hour before the London one - lol), but the codes thing is frustrating and I just want to *know* now !:)

    **stamps feet**

    :teehee:

  8. Hey,

Just wanted to say Hi and I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling frustrated. I got codes for the download and another for the UK gig ticket and as you have all said NO idea what is happening with them.

Stating a date in writing and then forgoing it without explaination is just plain rude in my book :sneaky2:

I got all excited about it and then nothing happened !

Also I am thinking that today's announcement might be at midday UK time, but I came on here just incase you guys heard something earlier !

  9. Hi Folks,

Not sure where to post this so apologies if this is in the wrong place !

Just wanted to make sure I had read mikasounds correctly. Does it say that the EP & Book will be available at the gigs themselves ?

I don't want to order it from the website, then it arrive whilst I'm away at the gig. I want to have it in my hands on the release date - just incase I should bump into Mika after the gig and get it signed - I can dream can't I ?

Can anyone confirm as I don't want to wait until the UK gig - ie same as the release date and find out I can't get a copy there !

    Cheers

    Angelcakes x

  10. Hi Mikafish - I'm from Blackpool (for my sins) - I went to St Martin's in Lancaster in my youth, so I know it quite well !

Babspanky, I will go and look at that thread thanks !

  11. Hi everyone my name is Ange and I'm called Angelcakes on here (its a Buffy/Angel thing if anyone knows what I mean).

I have recently joined after signing up for the mikasounds page too.

I first heard Mika on Jools Holland. I'm a big Divine Comedy fan and I had recorded Jools Holland Neil Hannon was on and as I was fast forwarding Mika caught my eye. I listened to Grace Kelly and thought it was very different, but I liked it. My husband then found the Dodgy Holiday EP on the internet, downloaded it and we were both hooked !

I will always remember Mika and the song Grace Kelly for a particular reason. I had never heard the song on the radio (although had listened to the EP many times).

I heard it on Thursday 18th Jan 07 - why do I know the exact date ? I was in labour with my son at the time and they had the radio on in the delivery suite ! I remember being really excited that he was becoming known and it made me really happy to hear him.

I always associate him with that special time. My son is also a fan and sings along to Love Today (he is 2 now !)

Hello to all the fans out there. I have booked for Sadlers Wells (I'm up in the second circle) and I'm really excited as its the first time I will have seen him live !!!! :biggrin2:
