  1. Oh yeah... my name's Sarah, by the way. :-)

  2. Hello!

The only gig I've been to was the Dublin one on February 15th. Travelling is too hard and expensive, so I find it better if it's closer to home.

  3. Hi!

Thanks for the friendship request. ;-)

    Take care,

  4. Hi!

Thanks for the friend request. ;-)

  5. I'm a completely desperate helpless case (have been for years) so I totally understand you. ;-)

  6. Thanks!

The only sentence I know is: "Hay una discoteca por acqui"

(from Pet Shop Boys' 1996 album 'Bilingual')

    *lol*

  7. I think your English is very good. If you ever need any help, I'd be happy to do so. ;-)

  8. Your new signature is HILARIOUS! :-)

  9. Hi Nollaig,

How are you? I hope you're well.

Anyway, have you had any success finding a suitable bowler hat yet? I was thinking of going into town sometime over the next couple of months and looking for just a normal bowler hat and then getting some baby pink fabric to cover it. I think that might be the easiest option rather than relying on eBay.

I also found these on Amazon.co.uk and they could also work:

    What do you think?

  10. I'm not learning it at the moment. I would like to start sometime, though...

  11. Hi! I would like to be able to speak Spanish. Maybe I will start learning it after I finish my Masters as I heard it's quite easy to learn. :-)

  12. I can speak English, Irish, French and German but I would also like to start learning Italian and Spanish. :-)

  13. I'm doing a Masters in German Translation Studies and I might become a professional translator after I graduate. :-)

  14. Dia dhuit! Conas atá tú?

  15. Which part of Dublin were you in? I'm living on the south side near the Wicklow border.

  16. Not sure what I'll do but it will be something in the translating field. I'm keeping my options open at the moment.

Due to my disability I cannot work full time but even if it was something part-time I'll manage somehow.

  17. Hi Nollaig,

I just came up with the idea of adding suspenders to my outfit for the Dublin gig. I found a site selling them and I think it could look really good:

  18. I never thought about postage... :-(

Anyway, I'll have a look around the next time I'm near a hat shop and let you know what I can find.

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that there will be a Dublin date released on Monday. If he does add one and it's in the Academy I don't think the tickets will be too expensive. I'm going to a gig there next month and the tickets were 18.50 Euro each.

  19. Hi Nollaig!

I had another look through eBay and found this:

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/Pink-Bowler-Hat-Hen-Night-Party-Felt-Clockwork-Orange_W0QQitemZ110339329933QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAdult_Fancy_Dress_UK?hash=item19b0bc8f8d&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

I think it's pretty close to the one in the 'BIOTG' vid... except for the 'Hen Party' band on it. I wonder if there's a way of removing it.

    What do you think?

  20. I did a BA International in French and German in UCD for 4 years (2004-2008) and liked it. The only problem was that there was too much literature to learn.

Their Arts & Humanities department is very good but if you're a student with a disability/learning difficulty the Disability Services are not very helpful.

I'm not very familiar with Maynooth, so I can't help you on that one.

  21. Where are you going to college? I'm doing a Masters in DCU and I love it.

I heard that the UK dates will be announced next Monday so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Dublin will be among them.

  22. I wanted to do art when I was in school but my mum said that doing it as an exam subject was a lot different than doing it as a hobby. I've been drawing ever since I was 5 years old and am self-taught.

Film subtitling is great but also quite time consuming cos you have to be able to get the translation in sync with the person speaking onscreen. I finish my degree next May but I'm not sure yet what I will do after that. Maybe a PhD might be a good idea but I have a bit of time to decide still.

  23. I haven't really spoken any Irish since doing the Leaving Cert in 2004. We had a teacher for the final 2 years of secondary school who spoke in Irish all the time and I think she just ended up confusing us a lot of the time.

Philosophy sounds very interesting. I'm sure there would be something available if you went down that route or even the English Lit one as you mentioned.

I studied both French and German for my BA International degree in uni (also did them in secondary school) but German was always the stronger of two languages for me. My studies now involve translating articles from German into English. I've even done film subtitling, which was tough but interesting.

  24. I haven't visited Cork since the mid 90s. Loooooooooong time ago...

What are you hoping to a Masters in? I'm currently doing one in German Translation Studies in Dublin City University and I'm really enjoying it.

My name is Sarah, by the way.

  25. Glad to see another Irish person here. Which part of Ireland are you from?
