  1. Cheers.

I'm still paying off my student loans, and I have a less clear idea now at nearly 25 what I want to do with my life than I did at 19 or 20. :bleh:

I'm starting to think now that what I really need is a job that I can "own". Something that I can feel personally invested in, like whatever I'm working on is my baby and I want it to succeed. I've got this random idea that I'd like to start a music management company, but I live in a boring city with no real music scene. Sigh.

Same here. When I was 19 I pretty much had my whole life planned out, and now I feel pretty lost. I'm probably changing my plans on a monthly basis.

And I completely agree with wanting a job that you can own... I want a job that I'm completely invested in. Not just something I do from 9 to 4 in order to make money.

  2. I don't think my parents have heard much of his music, but at least they know who he is. When he did one of his first interviews here a couple of years ago I actually watched with my parents, and my dad (who is a musician and music teacher) was fascinated since he has classical training and does that type of pop music. And when I mentioned wanting to go to a Mika show to my mother a few days ago, she actually remembered that interview...

  3. Oh, and on topic: considering the information he usually provides about his dating-life, I don't think he's gonna tell us about this. :naughty:

(And I don't blame him. It's quite an achievement, the way he's managed to keep his private life private. Keep up the good work, I'd say. ^^)

    That's true.

    (...I'm still a bit curious though :wink2:)

  4. ^ That's a good idea

I wish I could start all over again... I was supposed to study journalism or political science, but took psychology for a year just for fun. I found it very interesting and ended up with a bachelor degree in work psychology. Now I am taking my masters in change management and it's not that interesting anymore. My dream was/is definitely not to be a management consultant.

So after 4 years in university and thousands in debt, I still have no idea what I'm going to do with my life.

  5. Thank you all for the response, and yes it is very important to get experience, but it would be much easier for me to get a good job here in this country if I go to one of those schools. And yes writing my own play would be a great way to “get out there” and get to know people, but I don’t know if I actually have talent enough to write a play on my own...

Getting into one of those schools would definitely mean many jobs for you in no-time, but many of the people who get in are already fairly established in the acting community. Of course you should audition just in case, but there are other ways. If you end up studying at some normal university you could join the drama groups or something like that...

  6. I just joined, so I guess I should introduce myself.

My name is Ingrid, I'm 24, and I'm from Norway. I've liked Mika's music before, but haven't considered myself to be a big fan until recently. I saw him performing on a tv-show a week ago and loved 'We are golden', and today I finally made it to a record shop to buy the new CD - I love it :biggrin2:
