1. This is my favorite, love it:

I love this one as well :D I love the way she sings/speaks in English... She has a strange accent, I can't really explain it but it's really cute :)

  2. That I would do. But when it comes to Mika, I think about half of his album is simply not my style, which is different than something that sounds wrong. If his siblings feel the same way, they might say it's good, but not their cup of tea.

I guess that the "electro-sound" is less likely to please fans who love his piano songs... which was a great deal on the 1st two CDs, I think. Electro-songs sound less like him at first...

I'm myself more likely to like the non-electro songs as well but I'll give each song a try and we'll see :) So far, I've loved the LIVE versions of the new songs we know already... I'm more concerned about the "mysterious" remaining part xD Anyway, all we can do is WAIT,and hope for a great Deluxe Edition :thumb_yello:

  3. It's in Amazon UK as well.

I can't say that I don't like it. Especially the handmade letters an the side I loved immediately, dunno why :blush-anim-cl:, and overall it's a good cover. If it would have been from another artist, I would have liked it. BUT I don't like it as an Mika-CD-Cover. I'm missing the colours and most of all the creativity and the richness of detail (because of that I love the first two covers so much :wub2:).

What he had described in the interview sounded so good - an evolution in comparison to the previous ones, but also "typical" Mika-artwork-elments, but thats not what this cover looks like. Even if what he had described is within the booklet the most important think is the frontcover as it's the piece anybody sees while walking through the CD-shop or listening to tracks on their Ipod.

I had written a whoooole novel about it but I took me too long and my my got deleted inbetween x'D

WELL, I share your opinion... I expected far more from this cover given what he talked about in the Jim Interview, which sounded really really cool... I find this one "too simple" given Mika's creativeness to which we're used... The picture is REALLY beautiful but ... I feel like something's missing :'/

I'm aware that Mika has changed since LIMC but still, I somehow hope that "it's not just it"...I'm sure I will get used to it if this is the version chosen for the cover but... I hope we'll get to see more than that or at least, that we can get a more colorful cover for the Deluxed edition :crossed:

Anyway, Mika's a grown up man who can do whatever he likes. :wink2:

This is only my "first reaction" to this cover... :')

+ The drops : I hadn't seen the letters of "MIKA" at first :'X (And though, I had looked for it XD). I can see it now but I still wonder what the rest is supposed to mean... I thought of a "Love" somewhere... "LOVE MIKA", would he be trying to receive more love than ever ? :aah: ahaha~ Just kidding :)

  4. I couldn'tt believe it when I saw that there wasn't any Selah Sue's thread yet...

Well, it's true that she isn't probably very famous (YET) outside Europe but...

Be sure you'll hear A LOT about her :D

    819493.jpg

Selah Sue's a Belgian singer who comes from Leuven. Everyone knows her here~

She did a collaboration with Cee-lo and has been the supporting group for Prince's tour. :>

And really, YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO HER MUSIC! :>

Her most famous song is Ragamuffin :

    My favourite is Explanations :wub2:

Her CD is about to be released in the US with 2 new songs (Fade Away & Break) :)

  5. Not sure if It should relieve everyon BUT on the Mika's French Wikipedia Page, they already talked about something similar for "Relax" :

"On retrouve sur ce titre la mélodie d'(I Just) Died in Your Arms de Cutting Crew, ainsi que l'introduction et la mélodie du fameux Spacer de Sheila & B.Devotion." (In short, the song Relax'd have the same melody as (I just) Died in Your Arms and have the same intro + melody as Sheila's "Spacer").

    => (I Just) Died in Your Arms : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqqVgXPclsE

    => Sheila :

I can hear something similar for the 1st song but not for the 2nd one ^^' Anyway, Wikipedia isn't the most reliable source but... this current topic remind me of that Wiki Page Story :')

As I really LOVE "Elle me dit", I'd love to have this topic cleared 'cause I don't like that feeling...

  6. I really LOVE it ! :) I listened to the streamed CDs all the time and I finally bought them while I was in Edinburgh (couldn't think of a better souvenir :DD). Unfortunately, I don't have "Bird Song" on my version of "Two Lungs" and it is a Deluxe Edition though ;'/ But never mind, my dear Itunes friend is there (XD).

I'm waiting for a friend's response to go to one one her next European's gigs *fingers crossed*, we'll see ~ ;D

    CHECK THIS OUT !

  7. I didn't expect it to be that long either :blush-anim-cl: Well, I don't really know what to say except that I'm really happy for him. :wub2: I hope he can be more at ease now that the topic is cleared. :wink2:

I wonder if I can find it in Brussels, I'll try to have look this week, we never know :wink2:

Aaaah my Japanese friend'll probably get the CD before I do then xD I knew I should have moved to Japan  It would be great if he could tour in Japan next July as I'll hopefully be visiting my friends over there :fisch:

  8. I hope they won't release it as they often do in Asia.. I talk about Asia 'cause I know that there, they release several versions of the CDs, changing 1 or 2 songs. This is of course commercially interresting but well, even if I'd be able to buy each of the versions, I can't help thinking that it would be pretty silly -___-"

Let's hope the Deluxe Edition will have the same songs as the Normal Edition, plus the 4 French songs and ... maybe lives (The Origin of Love please <3) & remixes *__* (Dreaming~)

Really, I loved the Sadler's Wells live CD so I'd be really happy to get a few live songs on this CD :fisch:

  9. Hi Salomé!

Welcome back! I'm happy you decided to post some more and I'll probably see you in Brussels then! (Ik ben Vlaamse:teehee:)

Antwerp was amazing for sure, such a fantastic energy from the audience! And... Mika agreed! (have you seen the interview at suikerrock?)

So true about Charlie Winston! Did you go to his gig at forest national in 2010 as well?

Anyway, hope to see you around! :thumb_yello:

    Hi ! ;)

Oh great ! We'll probably meet there then ;) Waar kom jij vandaan ?

Maybe I talked to you on the facebook page of the event while ordering the tickets. xD I talked with some Flemish people that were also having troubles to order them. ;)

I had missed Charlie's gig at Forest National but I went to his last one (last April) at the AB and it was really magic. He dived in the crowd and played with the audience, it was really cool !! He is currently in Belgium (maybe not in Brussels though) to produce Saule's new CD. :)

  10. Aaaah Charlie ! ;)) There are only a few artists whose I love each of his songs and Charlie is (with Mika, of course) one of the happy few~:blush-anim-cl:

I had known for a long time his Hit song "Like a hobo" but I don't know why, I didn't really went listening to his other songs... A friend of mine insisted on lending me her CD "Hobo" and ... I fell in love :D Really, I hadn't loved a whole CD for such a long time... His CD was like a tapestry of very different things that held together thanks to Charlie & his band. Also, I kind of admire his point of view about life, very interesting. :> His new CD rocks as well :D

I had the chance to go to 2 of his gigs this year in Belgium (AB & Francofolies) and I really loved it ! Especially the Ab one, it was simply magic. Since Mika's in Antwerp, I hadn't felt anything so strong, musically speaking. :) And you have to hear him speaking French (...) :wub2:

The only regret I had was that I had to leave the Ab quite shortly after the end of the gig to take my train back to Liège :'/ I could buy his new EP (With Medi :DD) but I didn't get the chance to see him "saying hello to us" after the gig :') ...

I could meet him at the Francocolies as a young reporter so that was finally fine XD *Yes indeed :blush-anim-cl: * but well, I still think that I'd maybe have loved it better if I had been in a "fan"/"artist" situation 'cause I found the reporters pretty overwhelming at this festival :')

In case you don't know him, I'd advice you to listen to "Like a hobo" but NOT ONLY!! Kick the Bucket, Generation Spent, Boxes (♥), Speak to me, The Great Conversation, Until you're satisfied (and you will be ;D haha), She went quietly...

EACH OF HIS SONGS ARE WORTH LISTENING :> You won't regret it :D

PS: It is sooo weird to me that he isn't known in UK xD I checked everywhere when I was in Edinburgh and I couldn't find his CD ;'> I don't understand why British people don't try to ... hum "get him back"...

Well, I'm not gonna complain about it :D He always comes pretty often to Belgium when he's on tour so I like thinsg as they are ^_^

  11. Hi everybody ! :)

My name's Salomé. I'm 18 and I live in Belgium, near Liège (Luik).

I study foreign languages (English, Dutch & Japanese thanks to extra lessons) in Brussels. I fell in love with the UK when I was just a kid. I know this is no heaven but I've always enjoyed each trips I made there. The last one was in Edinburgh and I really do miss this place ! I'm really fascinated by foreign cultures and I hope to be able to study for a year in Japan in the future.

I can speak English pretty fluently but it's not perfect though and for Dutch, talking remains hard but it's getting better since I started watching Dutch & Flemish movies, which I love by the way ;) So if any Dutch speaker needs help with French, I'm YOUR MAN (well, girl, but you get what I mean ^^').

I can't really tell when I discovered Mika... The fact is that I needed time to fully appreciate his work. I first heard "Grace Kelly" when it was aired on radio here. I thought the song was really amazing but this was the only one I knew and it was played over & over again on radio so for some time, I couldn't bear it anymore... "Relax" came a bit after, as well as "Happy Ending", and these two songs could NOT get out of my head. I remember singing them whenever I was on my own... And it all began, I was addicted :) I was pretty young at that time so I would have never thought of asking my parents to go & see Mika's gig :') But for the 2nd album, I was ready ! The CD was released a bit after my birthday and right away, I booked tickets for his gig in Antwerp :D Although it was rescheduled, I could still go and this day remains as one of the best in my life. :> The only regret I have is not having taken a few pictures but my friend was afraid we couldn't get in with a camera, no need to tell you that I won't listen to her next time :D HAHA However, not having a camera maybe allowed me to fully enjoy the gig, I was taken away by Mika's magicn singing, jumping and so on ;) I loved the part he said "Dat is Mika en ik ben dood", as I said, I'm not Dutch but I can understand and I just thought it was really cute when he said it :>

I couldn't make it to his last 2 gigs in Belgium so I'm REALLY looking forward to see him in Brussels in November. :DDD I don't really know if I'd like to meet him... I'd love to greet him for his work but I'm always scared of annoying artists after their gigs :'(

    We'll see :')

Beside Mika, I listen to artists such as Emilie Simon, Charlie Winston (YOU HAVE TO GO TO ONE OF HIS GIGS ! *_*), Olivia Ruiz, Dionysos, The Black Keys, Ayaka, Greeeen, Saule, Selah Sue, AKS, Kate Nash, ect. :)

It's been a while since I didn't came here. The fact was that I couldn't log in anymore, I couldn't get back my lost password =.=' but miracles happens and I could finally fully access the forum ! I'm back~ I have kept reading news on the forum but being REALLY part of it is much better though. :) Really happy to be back :-)

    Thank you for reading ^^''

  12. I'm sooo happy I could get my tickets ! I was ready on the 3rd August but I really struggle to get my tickets. After 30 seconds, the gig was sold out according to the Cirque Royal while Livenation & Fnac had still plenty of tickets... I had to try at least 5 times before being able to order the tickets I needed =_='

Really, I was so relieved when the tickets arrived in my mailbox :') I couldn't make it to his last 2 gigs at Les Ardentes & Suikerrock, thus I'm really really looking forward to be on the 3rd November ! :D Also, I've been told that Le Cirque Royal's the best Concert Hall in Belgium, with the AB & Le Botanique. :)))

    Still 2 months and a half to go, I caaan't wait :'>

  13. I was there :aah: Haha Actually, I got there at 20 o'clock x) My friend's parents didn't want us to take the train "alone", so, they took us there after work but I can't complain, I could go so <3 ;) I wasn't at the first row at all :) I was in the crownd something like 30 meters from the stage ^^' But I could see it well & I had SO MUCH fun ! :) Until Mika started singing, I couldn't realize that this day had finally come !~ Just regret no to have taken my camera ==' So thank you for having shared your pictures ;) You don't imagine how happy it makes me to watch them & remember this amazing trip to Mika's world :)

I hope to be able to go to his next concert :wub2:

First concert but certainly not the last :D <3
