  1. Honestly, reading her article, I can not feel at all that this person does not really like Mika, I think she kept being objective.

But she must have been blind :mf_rosetinted: because the balloons were WHITE and red (not pink :mf_rosetinted:)

You must have had a really bad moment next to that person :sneaky2:

I remember people behind us in a festival in Belgium who were making fun of us because we were with banners and balloons, I was angry :sneaky2:

Yeah, I think so too ;) But I was curious to read her article as I knew what she was thinking before the gig... I wondered what she'd write about it. She's quite objective here but I don't find her article very interesting, too random, I think... :thumb_yello: She could have said it was his 1st gig in France for this tour... Also, a few words of the article remembers me some of her friend's nasty comments: I can't help seeing innuendos in the article xD

And yeah... they were really rude... I'm just so glad to have been lucky enough to escape to the front :naughty:

    Citation:

Mika a entamé sa tournée à Roubaix, aux couleurs d'une pop plutôt « love »

    Publié le 01/11/2012

    | CONCERT | Mika l'avait promis.

That's the rude reporter that was right next to me for the support group... I'm so happy to have fled to the front :naughty: Well, I guess that, in the end, she could enjoy a bit the gig... She said soooo many nasty things about Mika before the gig with her friend (that one was the worst among the 2), I was afraid of what she would write in her article...

They said Mika was a kid, that the stage looked like artwork she'd make with 2-year-old kids, that she was ashamed of being there... And ther friend said the wouldn't stand up nor clap her hands for him. They were looking forward to being back home. They critisized EVERYTHING. And spoilt the whole part of the support group for me... Really, they were rude. Thanks God, Nele (the other winner of the contest ;) ) couldn't understand everything they were saying..

The article is not that bad.... But indeed, she hated the support artist xD HAHAHAHA

Although, I don't like her way of writing... *Too many English words for such a small newspaper*

Also, she doesn't really tell the whole story... She talks about him remembering he felt 4 years ago before going on stage in Lille... But she doesn't tell HOW HE FELT... (Terrified & the fear went away when he started singing Relax). And she could have talked about the new songs as well...Tsss .. Especially Karen & Comme un Soleil Mal Luné as they're in French... This article is really random... Not saying much about the gig itself... She even said the balloons were part of Mika's plan while they were a suprise organised by the fans...

It could have been worse so I won't complain too much :mf_rosetinted:

  3. I couldn't get the internet now so here's the rapport time... Actually, I've been on cloud nine all along for this gig, it's hard to find the right words to express what has happened last night in Brussels.

I had already seen Mika in Roubaix but well, Brussels gig was really special for me as I study in Brussels. It was a kind of hometown-gig ;') Sort of ~ So the excitement was much more intense for yesterday. I had spent Friday in Lille and came back Friday night to Brussels to be "on time" the day after for the Q.

I hadn't slept much and I was worried not to be able to wait all day at the front of the venue but the weather wasn't that bad and we were protected from the rain. 2 friends came along, they had already been to Antwerpen with me but I hadn't expected them to come as early as I did... Really, they were soooo nice :') I was n*17 :aah:

As Jojotje said, getting everyone to Q by following the list wasn't easy. Espeacially because people couldn't always understand each other. Finally, it wasn't that bad, I think. We managed to make it. We entered the venue at 7. I got my little bag from Niko ;)

We could find a spot on the right, 1st/2nd row ;) Winky was right behind our little group. Well, I was maybe a bit less close to the mic as I was in Roubaix but it didn't matter that much in that venue as you could see well from nearly anywhere. The DJ was fine but I actually felt sorry for him. His set wasn't anythign special but no one was really paying attention either ;'>

And then came Mika. I was really surprised by his outfit as it wasn't the same AT ALL as the one he had in Roubaix. I was really happy 'cause I felt as if he wanted to make this gig special :') And starting with "Un soleil mal luné" was really great. Many people didn't know it as it's a bonus track, some even wondered what he was doing but people really liked it, I think. It was a great song to kick off the show !

Then, well, I had to look at the setlist *could get it ~ * to remember the order of the songs... but everything went very fast. I mean, I had forgotten about time, living in the moment and making the best of it.

So, after Un Soleil Mal Luné, he went on with Grace Kelly. People could sing along and it was soooo cool 'cause you could actually hear the whole crowd sing (and for nearly every song, it was the case... Can you imagine ?)

For Blue Eyes, he made us sing a bit but a bit less than in Roubaix. Then, Tim came to the front and Mika sang Blue Eyes. He was making some wave movements to the right, then the left... The whole crowd started dancing as well, waving to the right and then the left.... Aaaah it was soo cool !

Then, he played the piano for Billy Brown and then Relax. I can't remember for which one but he started doing weird things with his legs, like biking in the air or something... :'D The crowd was on fire for Relax ! Mika stood on the Piano and jumped around~

Lola was really cool, he played with the crowd as well for the "Lololololaaaa" ~

Then Rain... A quiet start and then BOOM ! The chorus explodes !! I loved it when we were all screaming "I hate days like this" ~ The atmosphere was great !

POPULAR now ... Well, I have to admit I don't know the whole lyrics for this one... And so, I couldn't sing along as much as I could for other songs but this song has been on my mind today... I couldn't stop singing it while I was revising my Dutch vocabulary ~ It was really really cool !!

Big Girl, joyful and dynamic as usual... Not my favourite though ;'D

And then... Stardust. OMG. I had already heard it in Roubaix and thought it was really beautiful but yesterday, it was even more breathtaking... I kind of started to cry while listening. The time stopped and... God, the tears are coming back now... It was really moving. People joined for the lights effect and it made it even more magical...

He went on with Underwater *I'm sure he wanted me to drawn in my tears... Bad guy, knew it :mf_rosetinted: * and well, we made bubbles ! x) It was really beautiful... He smiled when he first saw the bubbles~ However, We couldn't get the bubbles to go towards him because of the AIRCO :'> But still, this moment was really powerful. He made us sing "Underwater" with a really soft tone...

Stuck in the middle - He had some fun on the piano with Curtis ;>

Love Today - He made us sing Doom, da da-di da-di, doom, da da-di da-di, ect ~

LYWID : He had drunk right before the song and well, I can't recall how it started but I think that's at that moment he said he could actually see everyone in the standing area but the area above was so dark, he couldn't see anything. He asked for lights to see that area. He could then see the WHOLE audience and it was fu**ng crazy to see, really... He then asked a girl who was dancing which language she spoke but she didn't answer and danced (I think) and so, he started to dance like her and we all did the same... We did this move each he sang the chorus :D It was really really really cool ! I love this song and that moment was just insane. I wanne go back there, now :blush-anim-cl:

Elle me dit - He did the French version, entirely.

TOOL - Balloon time ! ~ I couldn't see the stage entirely because of the balloons but we could hear the crowd was singing along, Mika could even stopped singing at some point. It was magic. We threw our ballons on stage. Later, he began walking on the balloons to make them explode... xD

Happy Ending... Well, that's THE song that always gives me chills and well, once again, it did. The audience was singing along, again... I love the way he ended the song... :wub2:

Celebrate - Pompoms time ! I can't get enough of this China Boy verse, really. I love Joy's part... Her voice is soooo beautiful ! I keep on thinking she's too much at the back... We can't see her as well as we would like to... :'(

Lollipop - I thought it was the last song as he often picks this one to end the show... Party time, again. A guy came behind me... He came from further behind and was really into the song.. He was jumping A LOT and I was surprised at first as I hadn't seen him... He started waving his hand towards Tim to asj if he could come on stage but Tim said no... We are Golden Then, Mika came near us and he asked as well, Mika told him to wait *sign language* and later, the guy went on stage XD I was like O_O Hahaha And the guy danced on stage, he was really good and he did well, he made people sing louder and so on... It was cool :) Lucky guy but really, he managed well to do "his job" ^.^ He also danced with the choir... (By the way, I was at the opposite of the choir but from what I could see, they rocked ;D BRAVO BRAVO ! )

    Voilà ~

After the gig, we stayed a bit inside. No need to rush outside. My two friends went home as they didn't want to wait and I joined Minnie & cie to wait for the man at the back of the venue. This was a complete CHAOS. There wasn't much space... and there was a bit of traffic in the streets so...It was a mess. People were pushing, shouting "Mika, Mika" Mika was really nice and signed lots of CDs & so on but he did not stay as long as he did in Roubaix and I think the nervous atmosphere has something to do with it. I just stayed at the back of the crowd as people wasn't leaving... Not really disappointed. I was still on cloud 9 ;'D

We ate the waffles I had brought from Liège, talked a lot and then, I took a cab to go back to my friend's house :>

In short, last night was far more than anything I could ever have expected. It was beyond everything I had ever imagined. Thank you everyone who made last night what it was. And thank you to everyone I met yesterday ! :3 Really, it was really cool meeting you all ! :>

I'm back at my dorm, in Brussels. Earlier tonight, I was waiting for my bus and I couldn't help singing Stardust... Chills were coming back as the images of last night invaded my mind... Tonight, Brussels is sooo quiet, it's really weird...

Best gig ever. I miss it already. Oh God, what am I gonna do now ? :dunno:

Well, at least for now, I should so to sleep. *Worst summing up ever, sorry for the length*

  4. Bonsoir!

At today's gig in cologne, we held up heart shaped balloons during 'The origin of love' and glitter/lametta pom pons during 'Celebrate'!

Mika loved it and asked if we could organize to make little bags that include exactly the same things. Heart shaped balloons and glitter/lametta for both songs!

Also, there will be an instrunction card in there. For that i need your help Flemish and french speaking people. The instruction card should have the size of a regular postcard and have the following written on it

'Hello! This is a letter from the Mika Fanclub!

Inside this bag you find the following things. A balloon and a lametta pom pon!

    Here's what to do!

    1. Hold up the balloon when Mika starts playing 'The origin of love'!

    2. Put the pom pons in the air when 'Celebrate' starts, get up, dance and shake the glitter!

This is easy and will look brilliant, you know what to do!

And most importantly: Let's have fun and enjoy the gig together!

    Mika & Mika Fanclub'

So would anyone be nice enough who's good at photoshop do that for me? And please tweet the finished picture to me with both language versions on a regular postcard size on it to me @Bubblespurry

The instruction card should also include the MFC logo.

Mika officially asked us to please do this! We have 1 day for about 1500 bags!

So if u'd like to help us make the lametta pom pons, we could sure use 2-3 more people to help us!

You don't have to buy anything! I will get everything we need tomorrow! That's why the instruction/greeting card file is urgent as i have to print them!

    Thank you :)

    Niko

Okay, I'm trying to translate it quickly into French *in a hurry*

    FR:

Hey ! Ceci est une lettre du fanclub de Mika !

A l'intérieur de ce sachet, vous trouverez :

    - Un ballon et des pompons de pompom-girl.

    Voice ce qu'il vous reste à faire ! ;)

    1. Tenez en l'air le ballon lorsque Mika commence à chanter 'The Origin of Love".

    Mika & Mika Fanclub'

  5.

Actually... there's two bad things that could happen:

    1) The audition is bad and Tim and Mika have a laugh at it. well, who cares.

    2) The audition is good enough and you get chosen and mess up the show. That one still terrifies me a little bit...

    Indeed :fisch: Same here ~

I was wondering, though, for the deadline, does it include today ?

It's not really precised on the page, I think U_U

  6. I've been home for 2 hours and a half now, time to write a bit about the amazing time I had in Roubaix last night ! ;)

Well, I left home 'round 11 AM and arrived in Roubaix 'round 4.30 PM. I went to my hotel to check in and let there my backpack there. I started heading to the venue but I had forgot some things so I had to go back at the hotel X) I finally arrived at the venue a bit before 6 PM. I tried to ask the office of the venue about the guestlist as I was stressed not to find it, they couldn't give me much information but I was a bit reassured. I wondered where people could be and then, I saw a crowd at the back of the venue.... Mika had just arrived, perfect timing :naughty: He was really nice, talking in French ;'> He was already late for his rehearsal so he I didn't see him long but it put a great smile of my face, a nice way to begin the evening ;D

When the doors opened, I could easily find the guestlist. However, I had to point my name on the list 'cause he had no idea what I meant by "Contest on Mika's facebook page" :aah:

The gig was magic. As I have been expecting Brussels gig for months so it was pretty weird to realize that I was seeing Mika 3 days BEFORE Brussels... I didn't really expect anything particular from this gig, I was just over happy to be there and ready to make the best of it and I DID 8

I tried to write down a few things when I got back to the hotel...

First, I was really really on cloud nine as he sang Karen :wub2:and later, he sang Comme un soleil mal luné... It was really powerful, I think... really moving...

Stardust was...perfect and even more than that. Sooo moving :'X

It was time I went to a gig in France and so, I could hear him talk in French the whole show, which I loved ! I mean, I don't really care about the language but the way he speaks French, with his little mistakes, is really cool :')

Camille already wrote the main anecdotes of the gig ;)

At some point, Mika told us that he had wondered if people would come dressed like witches or zombies for this gig as it was Halloween and then, someone threw his witch hat on stage ;D He wore it and then gave it to Felix which began to act as if he was mixing something in a chauldron with his drumsticks... haha :naughty:

For this gig, the choir was a bit small, I think. We were told some people hadn't shown up

LMWID was amazing :wub2: Right before singing it, he drank a bit *red beverage* ;D huhu This song is one of my favourites on the new CD and I was sooo happy he sang the CD version and not the accoustic one :'D I love this version much more ! While singing it, he dropped the mic and it landed on the head of a guy near me. XD To apologize, he touched that guy's hair X'D

Also, people shouted "Mika, on t'aime" (Mika, we love you) and Mika said he hadn't heard (or acted as if, we don't know X) ) and that it wasn't nice to make jokes without telling him. People shouted again "We love you" and then, he was like "Ooh that's not even funny" (Half I don't give a sh*t, Half embarrassed xD)

He made us sing a part of Underwater, it was pretty fun and as said earlier, the whole venue rocked it with Love Today as we kept on singing after the song had ended :P The atmosphere was amazing !:teehee:

I tried to tell stories others hadn't already told but really last night was far more than what I expected :') We could see him after the gig, I was sooo surprised to see how kind he was, signing for EVERYONE  Incredible!

I want to thank all the fans I met and spent sometime with... Really I had an amazing time with you ! :huglove:

    I really can't wait for Saturday :wub2:

  7. Yes, I was going to write to you that it will be a guest list, not an actual ticket -- you'll need to go to the "will-call" window or whatever they have that's like it... and they'll check your name off the list. Bringing the email is an excellent idea for insurance! But I'm sure it will work out for you! :thumb_yello:

Have a fabulous time! Can't wait to hear all about it! :wub2:

I just hope I will find this guestlist xD

  8. Hi,

I have the same questions has Stefanie: are we gonna be queuing in front of the doors or do we have reserved places?

If queuing, at what time should we better be there in order to get a chance to be correctly placed?

I've seen that some of you are arranging stuff with heart balloons, bubble blowers & star-shaped lights during 3 songs.

I wanna be part of it!! Just let me know what I'm supposed to bring (for me or for others)?

I don't come that often on the MFC (I should but I'm lacking time) but it's always a pleasure to read you guys :thumb_yello:

I'll be back to read your answers (if any :teehee:)

    Have a nice day!!

    Isa

As said in the Amsterdam thread, timing for the Q can't be discussed on the forum because if we announce a time, someone will always try to come earlier and finally, who knows what time people could show up to be the 1st ... :'/

Yeah ! ;) Bring you light and try to shape it like a star with dark tape :)

    Bring bubble-games & heart-shaped balloons :>

    See you there :) :)

  9. Actually, I applied and won! :blush-anim-cl: Got a confirmation mail at 7PM, I'm very very very happy! :D Wonder if any other MFC-er will be there as no one else signaled here to be part of the choir.

    2 MFCers got in, I think :)

They posted in the "extra-ticket" thread ;)

I have got news from Mika team for Roubaix, no detail for the tickets so far XD They randomly asked me if I could still come *I'd better come as I've already booked the hotel :aah:* I wonder where I'll end up in the venue though... I hope I can see something :'X

  10. Tim said it to a girl from the Amsterdam choir.

No,you can post your vid on YT, make the settings for unlisted video and send the link to the team :thumb_yello: I'm going to Vienna,Zurich,London and Manchester.

Really ? O_O I wonder if the problem is the number of applicants of the number of good singers among them :')

Pronunciation is easier for Dutchies and Scandinavian countries, maybe for Germans as well but in France, Spain, Italy... I guess the accent isn't that easy to erase :') In any case, that's the impression I have :aah:

I'll give ir a try for a gig for which I don't have tickets :')

  11. Yes it was so expensive!! And the quality isn't that high as it was on the first tour!! And That hoodie! freaking 60 euros  I can not pay that!

Really ? :( I hoped they'd keep the same standards for the clothing :(

I wanted to buy one but if the quality is lacking, I might as well forget about it ><'

What do they look like ? :teehee:

I've just seen they added this tee online : http://mika.shop.bravadousa.com/Product.aspx?cp=21924_23422&pc=BGCTIK12

I've also seen the Golden Mika black tee and the CD picture tee but that's it, I think ... *30 euros ... Grrr *
