  1. Thank you very much for your report Saskia. Which basics did you tell Thomas? :huglove:

    I'm curious as well :aah:

Thank you for the reports/photos/vids :))

Well... Mika is really crazy to go on strange when he's ill but really, I'm impressed...

He really rocks, even on ****ty days... I really admire him for not cancelling the show! :)

I hope he can rest today... He needs to sleep, really.

  2. Hoi !

    Dus, HALLO ALLEMAAL ! :thumb_yello:

  3. totally agee... :teehee: the moment when they float into his face underwater is just :fangurl:! :naughty: his hair looks so fluffy even underwater! :swoon:

    Aaa :wub2:

My mother has watched the vid with my brother and they didn't like the 1st part ("confusing, what is he doing with these curtains waving around ?") but really liked the second one. They're not fans so they're quite neutral...

    It doesn't reassure me :fisch:

Although the video is growing on me :teehee:

  4. I had waited 27 years for "Tears for Fears", the UK duo from 80's coming back to Japan to do the show. We are quiet but patient, I think. Japan is so far from Europe. Listening to his interviews, I also understand that MIKA wants to write songs, not just touring as he did before. BUT I hope MIKA will come to Japan next year :wub2:

So do I... Especially in July xD *That'd be perfect*

  5. I asked Alias production (his promoter in France) if there'll be other dates and they answered me "Check out our page for the new dates" :wub2:

So there is more than hope :naughty:

But I think maybe they are just talking about festivals ? Well wait and see :mf_rosetinted:

Rumours about Lyon "Les Nuits de Fourvières" (Virgin Radio Lyon is said to have talked about it...). We'll see... I hope I can attend at least ONE of these festivals

  6. Okay this is going way out there but did anyone notice how the mast of the boat is a cross? The bag of light is on one side and the cross (religion) is on the other and he is trapped in between on a too-small boat. All he wants is to be away from it all and be alone with his love. Maybe the storm represents his struggles in regards to religion and how he was raised. He struggles with the mast during the storm representing his struggles trying to understand. He finally falls overboard (or jumps overboard) to actually try to save himself and his love. He is in under his head with his love and all these people (mer-people) come up and want things from him. That is why they are taking his clothes. Everyone wants something from him and eventually his love is taken from him as well.

    Too deep...? :)

Maybe.... But like mellody, I like this interpretation... :)

  7. Amazing, incredible, unforgettable night :wub2::wub2: I will post my report later, just some things, Mika was awesome, lots of eye contact and he sang "Drunk" intro in spanish :wub2:

This must have been amazing :wub2:

I'm sooo glad !!! :))) I know that some of you expected some bonus in Spanish on the CD and I'm glad he could offer you such a great suprise for this gig :teehee:

Meeks was in the choir :))

  8. hm, i immediately understood that the bag of light symbolizes his loved one's love, because he caresses it so lovingly at the beginning of the song, when he starts singing to the lover directly "you are the port of my call", etc. ... and those merpeople steal his love from him, so he drowns. well, maybe a few people become curious when they see bits & pieces of the video, and will try to figure it out. i remember the first few times i saw the video of a-ha's "take on me", which is one of my fave music videos of all times - i always just saw bits and pieces and never realized what a lovely romantic story it was, until i watched the whole thing because i became curious. :wink2:

I've seen thye vid a couple of times now and yeah, it's clearer now, it makes sense :thumb_yello: That F&M placement distracted me sooo much at first, I struggled to get back to the story of the video... but now, I barely look at it xD µ

I really love the scenes underwater :wub2: Once again... It would have been perfect if he could have found something else than the boat scene from 2'30" to 3' xD

I hope people will get curious :) I'll show it to my family this week-end to know what they think of it ;) *artistic family* They'll be more neutral than we are xD *Quite sure my mother won't understand a thing about this "bag of light" X'D *

  9. hm, not sure what i think of this video. i find it beautiful and disturbing at the same time, but i wouldn't be surprised if that was mika's intention. :naughty: what bothers me most is that it's on a fine line between artistic and trashy/cheap and unfortunately because of 2 little details the cheap part is taking over. first and foremost, like robi mentioned, the wrong words that mika sings. i hadn't noticed the "bursting" first, as i concentrated on other things in this image, but the "your" where the lyrics say "my" is just too obvious! :aah: the second thing that looks really cheap imo is the "franklin marshall" product placement at 00:43 - seriously, WTF?! :sneaky2:

but besides that, i also think the fabric being used as water is on purpose, to make it look "hand made", and the whole image of the boat, the fabric water and the painted sky look really artistic. it might just have been the cutting that ruined the video, but then i wonder, didn't mika see and have to give his ok to the final version before it got published? :dunno:

the other thing that personally disturbs me (but this probably doesn't hurt the public's view of the video, unlike the other things i mentioned) is that mika drowns in the end of the video - and they don't just steal his bag of light but also his jacket, wtf?! :sneaky2::naughty: nah really, it's a ballad, ok, but it's a love song with rather happy lyrics, compared to others of mika's songs, so why does the video have to turn that around and have such a sad ending?! :sneaky2: it's like the movie "the storm", i really really hate this movie because you watch for hours how they fight and fight and you hope at least some of them will make it, and then they all die. :aah:

so well, i definitely like the celebrate video more than this one, but it does have some beautiful scenes. and it's different, not what you normally see in music videos, so if that makes people have a closer look and then maybe decide they like the song, then it does what it's supposed to do.

I agree... The Fraklin Marshall product placement is really...cheap :'( And it's too obvisous and it 'cuts' the action... I also think the boat part is too long ! He shoul fall in the sea after 1'30" ! That'd be more balance :') 'Cause after the chorus, you expect him to fall off the boat but it DOES NOT HAPPEN ! :wait: You have wait 30 more seconds befor he falls in the 'sea' :fisch:

The scenes underwater ar really beautiful but I don't really understand why mermaids would steal him his bag of light... After watching it a few times, I figured out it was likely to symbolize his loved one's love but... I doubt "PEOPLE" would try to figure that out, they will watch, won't understand and move on to Bieber's latest crap :dunno:

I expected a LOT from this video and graphically speaking, even if his sea his a bit cheap, I like the effect... BUT it lasts TOO LONG ! It's beautiful but it really lacks rythm, as well as clarity. I wasn't expecting to see Mika making out with male mermaids underwater but well... I expected a better scenario :') The story is too short, there isn't enough material to dream about :'(

So... I have mixed feeling... I really love the idea, some parts are really stunning but the whole thing is... spoilt by bad editing, I think.

Should I add that seeing Mika drown was... quite moving ? :') *Ok, I may be fangurling here XD*

  10. It was fine, security built enough barriers and all people were well behaved. Don´t worry :wink2:

Well, I had bought him a gift but I couldn't give it in Bruxelles because people wouldn't move once Mika had signed their CDs and there were not enough barriers -__-' So, I'd like to give it to him if I'm going to an other gig :')

The same applies to Paris :fisch:

Well, I had the impression that the m&g (not talking about the race for the 1st row) were both fine this year... I may be wrong ;)

Anyway, as well for London as for Paris, it sounds like these 2 cities makes Mika's gig even more special but I can't tell why... Maybe because that's where he can feel "at home" :')

  11. Not seen Mika on tour yet? Seen a show but want to go again? We promised you more tickets… There are just 3 nights left that we are offering tickets for – Madrid, Bordeaux and Nantes!! We have 2 pairs of tickets to give away to each night. You know what you have to do… Just email mikacompetition@gmail.com with your name, age, the name and age of your guest and a contact telephone number. Madrid is an 18+ show, the French shows are all ages but one of you needs to be 18+ to enter. As always you need to make your own way to and from the show. We’ll pick the winners at random and announce the lucky people here on Thursday morning (22 Nov). So get those entries in ASAP! And remember to put the CITY you want to win for in the title, otherwise we don’t know! Why not share this with the person you’d take with you, so they know and can enter to? Good luck everyone…

    From Facebook~

  12. if you come to London and think you'll have a peaceful, relaxed, full of mikatime after gig...well, you're totally wrong!

London has always been a crazy mess, full of fans coming from everywhere.

That's what I was thinking as well :aah:

But wasn't it though quite relax last time he played at Roundhouse ?

MMm I'm waiting for an answer from a friend who's on Erasmus in Manchester... We'll see... :fisch:

  13. So it's a competition? Didn't really understand everything he said :aah:

Well, French fans have to declare themselves as "fan" with an application on facebook (there are severak different artists, not only Mika) and you have to get other people to vote for you on facebook through the application. The best fans (1/artist) will get to meet the artist + get the "best fan prize" from the artist himself. But you have to live in France to take part -___-'

On the 8th December, there'll be a special event with all these artists + gigs and so on. Tickets can only be delivered through the radio station but once again, you're unlikely to win anything if you're not French...

  14. Hi,

could anyone living in London tell me if there are already some people around taking the tube at 7 AM on a friday morning? I am considering taking a EuroLines bus to come to London for this gig, but the coach leaves at 8 AM in Victoria station and I am a bit scared of taking the tube from the venue to the station in the early morning ...

    Thx

Not going to Manchester anymore ? :0 Or are you going to both ?

I'm still... thinking about London or Manchester... I'd travel alone which partly explains why I'm hesitating to ;')

And I don't know what to expect from a London gig... I'm afraid it's gonna be crazy after the gig, like it was in Brussels earlier this month..

    Huhuhu~

  15. in luxemburg the band played overrated during the soundcheck, we heard it... mika wasn't there yet though. in vienna they played the fast version of stardust to mika... so they are trying new things, at least when we're not there. :teehee: dunno, i think mika decides on a daily (or hourly :teehee:) basis which songs to perform at each gig. maybe he just doesn't have enough time to practise so he's satisfied with the result, and therefor he just goes with what he's used to? :dunno: that's what happens when you're a perfectionist. :teehee: at least he said he WANTS to play overrated, so when he finally does, it's not just because his fans asked for it. :naughty:

He might keep it for London :thumb_yello:

That'd be great for UK fans :blush-anim-cl:
