  1. Well I think, as far as the interpretation goes, the way random folks would see it, the bag of light is Mika's treasure. It could represent love, and probably does, for MikaFreaks, but for the ppl who are not so familiar with Mika as we are, it could just represent light, or something else valuable.

So even though the merpeople can breathe underwater, they want that love, or that light, whatever the object represents. They are jealous that Mika has it, and are willing to pretend to love him in order to steal it. So Mika begins to trust these people and isn't holding on hard enough to his lifeline, as he was before, so they take it from him and he dies.

Having watched it again, I think the uw sequence does save the video, and after that, watching it again, knowing more of what to expect, I think you do see the contrast between the "Fake" above water scenes, and the "Real" Underwater world.

Maybe that was what Mika was trying to convey, that the world above the water isn't a real place anymore. Because he is, at heart, an artist, I imagine that was his idea. But whether the public will latch on to it, I can't predict really. We'll have to see.

I still say, if the water had looked more real, the boat scenes would have been better, and I also agree with others, that he should have fallen overboard at the first chorus.

I agree! This is the way I saw it too :thumb_yello:

  2. This is what I'm noticing here too. You can't see Mika's album anywhere. It hasn't been advertised properly and hardly any radio stations are playing his songs.

I blame his record company and what passes for his PR team, for this. They're letting him down badly.

I do think, if he had more promo and advertising, the UK would love him. But they can't love what they don't hear, or see.

This is part of what I meant in an earlier post, about it being an utter shambles. He needs to hire some new people and sack the ones who are not doing their job properly.

I agree with you, whoever is incharge of promoting his album in the UK is doing a terrible job. I think the UK would love him for sure :thumb_yello: another thing, when he did get UK interviews...they were on shows no one really watches, or the audience for those shows is wrong for MIKA's music :dunno:

You say terrible things. That upsets me(. Shame shame shame.

All music stores in Moscow sell the album - that`s me on a pic at the moment i bought it.

It's really what's happening, which is really sad! He deserves so much more. Moscow seems cool :teehee:

  3. I live in the UK and I noticed no stores are really selling his album, one supermarket was but now it's not there anymore :sneaky2: and it seems no one knows who MIKA is anymore, I'm forever wearing MIKA related clothes, merch, writing MIKA on my college work etc and people still ask me who he is even though they should know! I just wish he would get noticed more, he's soooo talented and The Origin Of Love is fantastic he deserves some kind of recognition of his achievements :thumb_yello: I think if his video was shown on TV often people would fall in love, it worked on me with the Grace Kelly video and I haven't looked back since! :teehee:

Another thing...I haven't seen ANY promo for the album except in Attitude magazine and well, not many people but that! So maybe if MIKA did some more promo, a tv advert on a music channel would draw everyone in!

  4. The Origin Of Love is so brilliant!!!!

Origin Of Love and Make You Happy sound verrryy different from the MIKA we are used to, but I love Origin Of Love, however I have to say Make You Happy isn't a favourite of mine but I don't dislike it either. :aah: And obviously there's Celebrate, which is such a fun dancy song, I love it :wink2:

Kids and Heroes are both so lovely and dreamy, I don't know how else to explain it.

Now for the ones I love the most: Lola and Stardust just stood out to me straight away, both have such nice lyrics and so beautifully sung by MIKA, I also loooovee the tunes of both of them :biggrin2: Now for Love You When I'm Drunk and Emily, I LOVE THEM, they are such fun songs that are fun to sing along to and dance to!

Underwater...:swoon: SO BEAUTIFUL! Ahhhh, it seems a lot of fans are loving this one, and you can hear why! I LOVEEE ITTT! The lyrics, his voice, just everything :wub2::fangurl:

I like Step With Me, but it's not a fav of mine, it's average! Popular Song, I'm not liking the start of this song at all, once you get to the chorus it sounds fine but the start is a big noooo for me!

Overrated sounds so original and electronic, I like it very much! Especially the lyrics!

And finally the French songs, seeing as I don't understand them I can't say anything about the lyrics, but my oh my they sound so beautiful :wub2:

Overall I think The Origin Of Love is amazing, brilliant, MIKAtastic and the lyrics are so beautiful and meaningful! I love some of these new electronic beats!! Not a single song I dislike :thumb_yello: Thank you MIKA!! :wub2:
