  1. Thanks everyone for all the pics & vids :flowers2:

I must admit I was a bit disappointed to see him again wearing his usual 'gig uniform' :teehee:

Not that I consider that the appearence is essential but I've got the feeling that I'm always watching the same vids and pictures & the same Mika... again and again and again from a gig to another  - not to mention the Grevin museum

I know some of you are attached to his good old clothes (:wink2: to Elena & Rose) but a show is not the RL and a bit of novelty would not be detrimental to the quality of the show :naughty:

I sincerelly hope we will have something new this summer...

Actually, random clothes would be fine :pinkbow:

So we didn't miss anything special this time:lmfao:

Seriously it's wonderful to see him again, but got the impression he didn't bother so much with this gig as everything seems like his usual routine, including clothes :teehee:

  2. T4P!

    That maxiscreen is just...awww...amazing :wub2:

Is possible to see every small detail :fangurl:

Think the same:wub2: And he looks lovely on this big screen.:blush-anim-cl:

I'm sorry for you Sarina:huglove: My reaction would certainly be the same as yours

But concernig Mika's dis-connection to his fans we say "far from eyes, far from heart". And I fell something like that for time being.:dunno:

  3. I love musk too) This is a smell for men, but all the same I love it)

Perhaps, Mika spoke not about a smell of a tobacco smoke, but about a smell of the tobacco. This is absolutely different things...

Happens that I go along on a street and caught the acerb-sweet nutty aroma, and happens that there is a smell of some sour rotten stuff...

I remember, In Soviet Russia there were for one time some perfum " Fragrant tobacco ".

I think that the childhood memories of Mika can deceptive to idealize that smell)). The scent from of childhood:wub2:

The same here. Back then in 80 tees my dad used the man fragrance "Tobacco" along with "Old spice". Do you remember them? At some point they suddenly disappeared from my life...

As for musk I still have a one which can be still bought in Germany: "Jovan" (musk oil parfume for women) and it was also very popular when I was much younger.:teehee:

  4. im sorry :no::huglove:

    Sorry to read that

Take care of you and Keti :huglove:

That is such a horrible news

I know what it feels like to lose a cherished pet, I used to have dogs, I've lost a few in my life time...:tears:

Sending you and Keti lots of positive thoughts, hang in there! :huglove: :huglove:

Thanks a lot my friends:huglove: It means a lot to us.:wub2:

The horrible thing is that she suffered so much and we couldn't help her anymore:sad:

  5. I like Judas, but I think there's a big gap between the music genres she used and mixed in this particular song :boxed: I mean, the verses are something like really strong techno beat with a lot of 'electronicsized' voice :roftl: and then the chorus resembles cheesy ABBA pop songs from the 80's, but produced in a slightly more modern way. So when I listen to the song it's like listening to TWO songs instead of one!

The lyrics are quite weird too :roftl:

But I do like song, I've played it for like 4 times already :teehee:

Gaga has said Born This Way the album will have more songs like Judas! :biggrin2: I can't wait!

My number of plays so far: 48 :blush-anim-cl::teehee:

I like it more than Born this way. It's typical Gagaish.:biggrin2:

God bless Japan and keep the people safe.

Nothing to add here except that I knew he would write such a warmhearting and thrilling lettter to you my friends:wub2:

  7. :lmao:

@Shine I said Katie Price (Jordan) was a C-list celeb. That is significantly different from an A-list one. As for the rest of the post, I was probably the only one understanding what you were getting at or at least showing interested in it, but I might as well just neglect those comments next time if you think it is 'splitting hairs'. To me it is was a discussion I enjoyed. :dunno:

Now I don't understand what you are getting at. It's interesting that you know for sure that no one else doesn't understand what I was getting at except you.

And I'm very happy that you are vox populi on this forum. Please keep going that way.

You're also not obliged in any way to reply my posts, cos no one is interested in them as you put it.

On the contrary, I actually was enjoyed the discussion, but you got it all wrong.

  8. I don't see any crutial discrepancy between your and my opinion.

If he wrote his lyrics based in some real life prototype (it's also case with "Lonely Alcoholic"), it doesn't change too much in the concept of understanding its meaning in the final version. Lyrics and art could never simply imitate some empirical facts, but always transform them into a piece of art.

For instance, all of actual female celebrities were some unknown girls back then craving for a fame.

Even if you concider them shallow today, they're have still become celebrities, whatever we might think about them.

I didn't see it, either, but now I do :naughty: (:teehee:)

That is not what I meant at all.

Once unknown girl achieving fame by whatever means to become a singer / performer = popstar (see Katy Perry).

Once unknown girl achieving fame by whatever means to merely become a tabloid feature /WAG = C list celeb (see Katie Price)

Significant difference - Katie Price was and will always be shallow, Katy Perry has never been.

i.e Achieving celebrity status in itself is not something to take pride in.

Ok, if you say so :dunno: We don't have to agree if you prefer:wink2:

Especially when you pull the first part of my post out the context. I just wanted to keep going with the lyrics interpretation not to deny what you've said.

After that I was pointing out their status as celebreties, and not their real value in our or public eyes. Tabloids obviously follow every step of Katy Perry as well even though she's not shallow as you say...cos she IS concidered as a celebrity.

No need to split hairs cos it's a common sense.:aah:

  9. I think there were two different interpretations of that when we were discussing the lyrics.

One interpretation (like mine, for example) said that it is about 2 girls: both hungry for fame & fortune and using different means to get it.

The other version was that the second part of the song was about the same girl about two decades later, having turned old and bitter. I like both interpretations but I'd like to think that the song was based on the life and ambitions of a woman/ women he knew (as he even said it) rather than some shallow celebrities. I hope he'll give us some further clues one day.

I don't see any crutial discrepancy between your and my opinion.

  10. :aah: No, luckily...( It would totally destroy the song for me.. :naughty:)

Her story might inspire Mika to write a song about Anne Nicole - like Sting wrote Roxanne :naughty: - but GGG is actually about a once sweet girl who hangs around rock bands, gives up everything and uses everyone in order to become a star.

In Mika's words:"It is about an attention seeking, very ambitious girl who forsakes everything in order to make it... and it's based on somebody I know "

    So, pretty obvious, I guess:teehee:

It can be also true, based on his own words which I rememeber pretty well.

But at the same time I don't buy his explanation for granted, cos writting lyrics always includes numerous and more complex elements, not only one.:wink2: I

In this particular case the point is that these girls were seeking for a sugar dady to acomplish their ambitions, even though that finally led them to (self)distruction.

So he tried to construct a certain type of a girl/woman who sell their soul to devil for pleasure, wealth and career.:biggrin2:

  11. Already????

    *Runs to read*

I always thought he wrote Good Gone Girl about Ana Nicole ( Georgia ) and Kati Price ( April ). Maybe I was write.....

I really adore the column. It shows us the way how Mika sees the world. Of course I had my own image about Ana Nicole in my head but I find it really interesting to look at it from another perspective.

    Thanks Mana for posting

It's a pretty strange and unexpected choice of topic and I had to read it a couple of times to grasp where's the point of his writting.

Anna Nicole Smith wanted to achieve her american dream and to become a new Marylin Monroe. And what Mika critisizes is the fact that media used in a sly way her personal tragedy (drug abuse and her son's death), which twisted their conventional perception as a successful, beautiful diva.

The other thing that bothers him is the very concept of directing opera inspired by her life. He felt that it should have been directed in a different way, streessing its tragic potential (mother and son relationship on the first place). Something in her life story obviously has deeply driven him in a symphatetic and compassionate way, and I agree with Sabine that his lyrics could have been also affected with her life story.:thumb_yello:

It doesn't come to her personal ethic that much here (which is dodgy) but for the morality of the society and media, which partly destroyed her as a human being imo.

  12. I've already discussed at length why what Mika is doing is not working for English speaking audiences but no one wants to hear it. Everyone thinks Mika should just do whatever he wants...so... :dunno:

Sorry, but I've read your discussion very carefully and furthermore mainly agreed with your opinion.:biggrin2:

But still I can't understand why British are so indifferent or hateful to him.

Even though he made such great hits and sold near 8 millions copies of both albums which is objectively a great success.:wink2:
