  1. Don't say yes if you are not coming for the meal. Like I said to Roxane, we must be 30 minimum, but I don't have to give the final count for a while.

Then, I have to give them the number of people who will eat & it wouldn't be fair if they plan for people who don't show up. However, if you come late, I'm sure you can come join us and have a drink or something (like a Shirley Temple :teehee:)

It will be my pleasure to see you again :huglove: I still laugh when i think of L'Ete Indien and this lady thought you were my daughter when you came over to say goodbye :naughty:

I think I'll call you "Famous Momma" from now on :aah:

Ok so I won't answer on the poll until I have my schedule and my friend's answer. But if I understand well, if I end up just passing by later and take a little something and say hi to everybody without properly sitting, I am not considered as someone who will have a place reserved right? Or will I?

Aaaanyways, if I end up not coming, we'll surely bump into each other (and everybody else) at the concert. :teehee: I'll write you back to tell you as soon as I have new info :wink2:

  2. I should be here, but I'll wait to get my school schedule before saying anything. :thumb_yello: (I should get it in the middle of january)

I'm very excited !!! :boing: :boing: :boing:

    Same here!

Problem is, I am not coming alone. I have a friend with me and I don't know if she would like to come or not. So if my schedule (or my friend's) has a course that ends at 6, well if we count the time to come and blabla it will be maybe around 6:30PM we can get there.... So here is my ultimate question:

Are we going to be hated forever if we click yes then end up not attending  and is it ok if we come in late? Like maybe I can pass by but not eat the food on the table 'cause I dunno maybe you guys will be finished while I come and etc... Because i would love love to come but maybe later depending on her and I and all that... (but for now I won't answer on the poll)

So yeah as Roxy said, I would have checked the maybe box if there was one :naughty:

Until when do we have time to give our answer? Like when are you going to reserve?

  3. Hey I know it has been a billion years since I haven't come over here, but I want to post a video of this Italian pianist/YouTuber named Costantino Carrara. He makes great covers and I have been following him since he's pretty cool and covers pop songs and he's a coldplay fan (hehe like me). But his last video was a cover of Mika's Grace Kelly and I was surprised (and not shocked, since I know Mika has gone massive in Italy, so no doubt it's because of press and X-Factor).

Here it is and enjoy it! x

  4. I'm the wrong person to help you with grammar rules as I kind of despise them. When I speak french I usually use past tenses as I do in italian, I recall that I've been doing that all my life long and I always had high marks in french (even though I was pretty accurate back then when it came to grammar rules). Anyway, I tried to do it for you but I actually think that more than one choice is right here, so it depends on the choices you wanto to make. You could do it using trapassato prossimo or passato prossimo, it depends on how far in the past you consider it.

In general I usually use trapassato when things happened much time ago, and passato prossimo when they happened recently, so I'd probably go for passato prossimo but then I would do some exceptions I can't even explain.

I know that here trapassato sounds good but they still know each other so it just sounds better passato imperfetto to me, sorry. Trapassato sounds like something that occued and ended in the past), quando ancora facevano l’università (imperfetto because university lasted many years).

Now let's wait for some teacher, I really can't help you that much, sorry.... I prefer instinct over grammar :aah:

Honestly dear, I think you're right overall... I think this is what all native Italian speakers would tell me because I think there is no magic trick behind it, it's definitely depending on a timeline of some sort, or by instinct and how it sounds like.

Funnily enough, in the text that you corrected me (thanks btw :huglove: ) There were stuff that my teacher thought would be more imperfetto than passato prossimo... Gosh that's the tricky part of languages :naughty:

  5. so... they didn't even show the poutine part on the show either. i guess it was just an advert or something :dunno:

anyways... is it me or was the Quebec version funnier than the French version?

And why do they change the "Mika's taxi" part in the shows? It's suppose to be when they ask about the "grand malaise" not just some random "oh my taxi is here" story. *scratches head*

Dude, you analyze so much... I didn't notice any of that :naughty:

Yeah, cool show, people texted me that Mika was on TV and my answer was: hey look who's behind him :das:

  6. I'm back!! Urgent question (by the way, hey everyone :blush-anim-cl:)

I cannot make the difference between using the trapassato prossimo and the imperfetto and passato prossimo... Is there a trick or anything? Because I was told to do it as I do in French, but it's much more difficult to seperate them...

For example (the ones in bold character, I don't get them):

Lunedì scorso era l’8 marzo, la festa della donna, e Paolo aveva deciso di fare una sorpresa a sua moglie Teresa. (Volere) fare qualcosa di particolare, qualcosa di diverso dal solito. Prima (pensare) di prenotare un tavolo in un ristorantino romantico, ma poi ci aveva rispensato perché (ricordarsi)(why is this one trapassato?) che ci (loro/andare) (and this one? is it because of "l'anno prima?") anche l’anno prima. Si sono trovati in una sala buia (non illuminata), con musica altissima e sconsciuta e moltissimi ragazzi che, da come (animarsi) (what does that mean, for it to be imperfetto... I checked in the dictionary and it doesn't make much sense when I read it...) probabilmente (prendere) delle strane droghe.

Sorry if it kind of looks like a mess, but I basically copy pasted the revision they gave us, and I really just need explanation...

If anyone answers me, you'd be angels! :teehee:

  7. Thanks for the video. Who the heck was that woman? She was awful. She didn't even keep in tune.

Mika was brilliant, of course. It's a pity he had to sing with her.

Oh I will have to disagree on that

I think she's brilliant. She completes him in that performance and I think he (Mika) was more unusal in his singing. His voice didn't come out at some point...

Coeur de Pirate is more known for her songwriting I think. She just writes so beautifully with touching lyrics and smart metaphors, she's great. Her voice isn't Whitney Houston or something but it's unique and you directly recognize it when it's on the radio. Her songs are better than any French Mika songs ever (sorry, my opinion).

Fun fact: did you know that she started to be known in the US because Perez Hilton wrote an article about how cute her voice was? And that's how she became huge :teehee:

Also people keep debating on who's the real Québec star: Marie-Mai or her... Always hear about these discussions everywhere...

  8. I want to see that guy kidding about MJ as well.

Oh I was so surprised when I saw him along with the guests (and Coeur De Pirate also!) Big fan of him, seeing him live very soon! I've been wanting to see Rachid Badouri since forever, so happy I got a taste of it at the show :wub2:

I saw CDP live once, but I'm happy to have seen her again, she's awesome! I'm planning on seeing her next time she stops over here again!

Overall, seriously, even if I was there as a Mika supporter, the whole show had nice guests! And coolest part, my parents were happy about the beau malaises DVD ( a show by Martin Matte, one of the guests) they gave us, they are such big fans!

So yeah everyone is happy :)

  9. Hey if anyone sees my face, tell me. :naughty:

I remember they zoomed at Roxy and I at some point, and I pointed at the camera, so the guy entertaining the crowd said: the stupidest thing you could do on screen is to point at the camera and wave at it when it zooms on you. So please do not do this. I felt like I was involved. :naughty:
