I think the word that is causing trouble is 'since', because it could be either:

 

1. In the intervening period between (the time mentioned) and the time under consideration, in this case the present.

2. For the reason that; because

 

So if you look at the second meaning: because I was in my braces.

 

 

But he always wore braces circa 2007/8 anyway, so I don't think it is refering to childhood

I was wondering about the lyrics to Stuck in the middle.

Because in my songbook the lyrics is:

But everywhere else it is:

the due date of 3rd album is spring for sure....as he said in NRJ award. Never changed!

when tweeted 'this summer I hope' , he was on his way home around 2 am... worked overnight to meet the deadline 'top of the year' or 'spring' as he said before... maybe too tired and stressed out.

 

so he must be felt like 'hope the album to be release in summer instead..' at that time !!

Oh sorry I was a bit unclear. The meaning of "no need to fantasize since I was in my braces"

Found at least one reference... It's the Cauet radio interview from 2011. In response to a girl who's 16 and hasn't been kissed, the interviewer asks maybe she has braces, she says yes and, according to the translation i got on MFC, Mika replies "i wore braces from 12 to 17 and i got kisses" then the interviewer says something about getting stuck together.

 

I knew he talked about having braces because i remember thinking 'KACHING so that's what the line in Big Girl means'

So what is the meaning of the sentence? Because I have no clue.

 

I hear it as: No need to fantasize (about these lovely women) since (luckily) I was (wearing) in my braces (so they love me because my braces are darn sexy).

But I have another idea, which i just came up with, hehe.

"I was in my braces" means he was young. And I've heard him say in some interviews that he was fat as a child.

So the meaning is: he didn't need to fantasize about how big women looked like, because he could just look at himself.

Not that that make any sense either...

Maybe it's just a bit too late for these kind of deep interpretations...

Why doesn't it make sense? Because he always used to wear braces, aka suspnders? Even though he always pulled on them when he sang the line live, i think he means teeth braces. If i recall in at least one interview he said he used to have braces on his teeth when he was younger. So in that way the line makes sense, he had no need to fantasize since he was young.

Okay, I've thought about it in that way too, and then it make sense. (and if you sing "I" instead of "it" ) But I don't really understand the meaning of the line. What is it he doesn't need to fantasize?

I was yesterday with my cousin and one friend of my cousin speaking and listening music .... My cousin had my cellphone and his friend and me were talking about Kanye west, suddenly My cousin sang " Relax take eaaaaaaaaaasy, blame on me and blame on you " and said mika is so cool.... and his friend ask who is Mika?...and before I could answer my cousin said " He's a singer that have very cools songs, he sings in falsetto . the first time I saw him was in axn when they show big girls.....and the video only had a skinny person and was him........". I was like ( He know too much about mika because he continued speaking) And then I asked - Bro, Do you like Mika? and he said - " NO, he is gay. But I want a copy of his album.

I've misheard a lot of lyrics but I don't remember them all

But some I still mishear, or even sing wrong...

Like in big girls, I think it should be: "No need to fantasize

since the words are my praises" but I always sing: "No need to fantasize

since it was in my braces" - That doesn't even make sense

And I always sing: "Needs a real man his wife" instead of: "Needs a real man, here's why"

And in Blame it on girls I can't stop singing: "Blame it on the boys who keep blame it on you" no matter how much I try.

I don't talk about Mika with my family very much, but they know that I like him and who he is

It's sounds like at least someone in your families like Mika. When I tried to play a Mika song for my sister she said:

"Is it Mika...?"

Me: "yes"

She "No, it's okay... can't we listen to this song instead" and she starts playing some lady Gaga song.

me:

And my brother:

Me: "Do you want to hear a song?"

He: "Mm, but don't play Mika."

Me: "Why?"

He: "He's songs are bad!"

Me: "Okay" *play Grace Kelly* "Do you like this song?"

He: "Yes I do"

Me: "But you don't like Mika"

He: "Well Okay, okay... I admit I like this one."

Btw, I know my sister's reply sounds stupid in English, but I don't know how to translate it in an accurate way.
