yeah Well I'd been impressed if you did Well they got 13% which gives them the balance of power in most case scenarios, and makes it very hard for the socialist party to rule the country effectively. it's kind of hard to explain the kind of power SD (the Swedish democratics) have without explaining the whole Swedish political system since it's so different from the US one. No you don't sound ridiculous at all You have a point and it makes me proud to say that no other parties wants to cooperate with SD to get a majority of votes. So the Swedish immigration will probably not decrease, but I just feel so disappointed with the Swedish people voting for a party openly being racist and homophobic. And I'm also disappointed since the election didn't turn out like I wanted it to do, sure the socialist party won, but the feminist party didn't get enough votes to get any seats in the parliament, and the socialist part, environmental party and the left winged party didn't get enough votes together to get majority in the parliament, being able to rule Sweden without seeking help from the right winged parties....
sorry for this stupid long rant
No I don't think so It's only election every fifth year and all the European Union countries vote at the same time Ukip got a lot of votes in the UK around 20% I think....
It will take time to heal the wounds I think no was the best option too, even if I am not that into Scottish and British politics.
I like long rants That's kind of surprising to me, since pretty much everything I hear about Sweden as an outsider so to speak is that they're chill and pretty liberal and so it's odd for me to hear that a racist/homophobic would have majority vote :aah:
-
No, not if they turn out right But this time it turned out to be the worst case scenario. If we're unlucky it will be a reelection not too soon. And then the racist Swedish Democracy party will get even more votes
ugh. I don't know anything about Swedish politics, but I hope it's not a complete disaster. I guess it's up in the air until people start passing legislation? I feel so clueless, I probably sound ridiculous

the swedish' election turned out to be a nightmare
Aren't all elections nightmares?

They've been tough since I can't even remember when...
I'm hoping things improve for you soon.

I have just never had the expendable for even a cheap car - there's that pesky insurance, gas, maintenance, etc that they seem to require.
My disabled bus pass is $22.50 a month and I've been able to manage, mostly, with that...
Oh boy, that kind of sucks. :/ I definitely know the feeling, though. Things can get tough financially.
-
I don't drive either. Have never been able to afford a car, so failed to see the point of a license.
Yeah, you definitely have a point there. Although it could come in handy if you could find a car for cheap or through a family member, etc
-
Busy, perhaps, but still lacking a steady income. And that really, really sucks.
Waiting to hear if I get this one new temp job - three weeks or so, $13/hour, I could def use!
at least you're getting some income. I can't even drive. I'm crossing my fingers for you!
-
A mixed bag lately.
Have had a couple of temp jobs since we last caught up... one, the person I worked for lied about me to the agency, the other I was risking my life to get there so didn't keep on...
Waiting right now to set up a shoot for the jewelry to be put in an "international luxury lifestyle magazine" that is apparently read in 39 countries... which to me is pretty awesome.
And I've had two rounds of chicken jewelry made and distributed, so I'm tickled. Just sent out EIGHT packages Thursday, sent another earlier in the week. Still working out the design for M's special pieces, have a few other orders pending... very much fun!
Still trying to find someone to help me get my furniture in my new place, feel like I'm going crazy there. I just really need to feel settled and this isn't helping one bit!
Sounds like you have quite a few things going on! I feel a lot less busy now, even with school

Oh yeah! The Virginia Opera is putting on a performance. It's expensive, but there's no way I'm not going. No way at all. I'm so excited, I've always wanted to have a part in that play so I pretty much have it memorized by now.

I have a scholarship for playing the piano, and I'm part of the Orchestra*SENDS GOOD VIBES*
I knoooooooooooow but here I am
That's freaking amazing. I play piano, but I'm more of an artsy-fartsy do everything by ear person. It suits me. I can read sheets, though, I just don't that often.

Well I can definitely understand that, it's similar to what's currently going on behind the curtain in the US. People are getting more and more uncomfortable with the state of things, which is where you get a whole bunch of protesting and occupy and celebrities touting anarchy :naughty:
