  1. Indeed. They would be more aptly named FUGGS. I get that it was a trend for a couple of years because these things happen. But I can't believe people are still wasting so much money on these boots all these years later. Maybe they work in other climates but in Canada they get destroyed by the salt and look like cheap and nasty.

Other climates? The climate you'd need is somewhere cold, but no snow. Maybe on the moon? I can imagine them being comfortable in winter though.

  2. She might not be quite Mika's style, he is quite classic when it comes to women's clothes, we have learnt that he likes skirts and dresses(JBC) or Chanel type jackets, and that he hates UGGs.

She is also a girl, so he might not find it relatable?

Or maybe pressure's on with Big Karl now being closer to him? He might want to prove that he doesn't look on other bloggers for inspiration.

Maybe he liked the first outfits that she wore, but then he got tired of her?

    It usually happens with bloggers.

For example there was this blogger I loved, and at first she wore very clever high street (yet fashionable) outfits from places like Zara, which honestly looked designer, and so people could afford it yet still look really stylish.

However, as she got more famous, she just borrowed clothes from high end brands and so it kind of lost the whole point.

Or maybe he just didn't think her tweets were interesting. I might be oldfashioned, but that's the only reason I unfollow someone...

  3. I think this was not posted here :mf_rosetinted: :

  4. That's because the one woman and her daughter involved had not been causing sh*t with other fans. As I said that is the only reason this came up and it was not aimed at Melanie or anything she has done. People can do whatever they want when it comes to pursuing Mika. It's Mika's problem not mine. But when they are talking sh*t about newbies and claiming to speak for Mika and coming up with nonsensical justifications and motives for their behaviour then I am going to say what I think about it.

And you should. As I tend to stay away from twitter nowadays, and definitely from those corners of twitter, the discussion I saw was about turning up for this event, not about the way fans are treating each other. Although I suppose most discussions boil down to that

  5. Being hired by a corporation for a private event is not working for the public ie his fans. Neither is going to the Voice studio to tape the behind the scenes segments of coaching contestants.

What is the difference between these situations and him recording his album in a studio? Or is it also okay to hang around outside of Greg Wells studio now if Mika is working inside? Because it sure was not okay before.

You're right, there is a difference between public and non-public work. If I have to work but spend the day in the office without seeing clients, I'll dress less formal too. And yes, it has happened that a client was in the neigbourhood and decided to drop by. Well, too bad, and if they have a problem with my attire in that case, I completely consider it their problem not mine (in fact one client told me she had sneakers in her bag to put on instead of her killer heels on such an occasion :naughty:).

But his tweet didn't mention a private gig, but a secret gig. Tweeting about a secret gig removes its secrecy, making it a logical assumption (or at least not an illogical one) that it is now a public event, especially since Swatch has hosted public events before. Tweeting about a private gig is a different matter, although he can also have people that saw him wait for him outside after a private gig (as apparently there were in this case). The nature of a gig is different from a studio day.

I didn't see this discussion when US fans turned up at the filming of Celebrate, by the way.

  6.

I think we all have personal boundaries we don't like broken and expect them to be respected. I tend to apply my boundaries to Mika. When i ask myself questions like "would I like that done to me?" or if i have to consult others to see if they think it's ok, it gives me the signal that perhaps i'm getting a little close to that invisible comfort line.

I think this is the reason I'm uneasy with the discussion here. The stalking in the sense of going to his house or a restaurant or party he's at is one thing (and a terrible one too) but to me this is different. First of all because based on that tweet, I think people could hope to get in, so I don't blame them for trying. As for sticking around to wait for him afterwards, I don't think I would have done that (although it was probably fun to hang around with friends, so I might have stuck around as I have after previous gigs). I don't have any serious objections to it either. The reason is that his was not part of his private life. He was working. And that to me is a huge difference.

Finishing a concert doesn't mean the work is finished. Getting past fans - crazy or otherwise - is part of the job. If I go to a client I'll sometimes have comfortable shoes in my bag. But I won't switch shoes until I'm a few hundred metres away, because as long as I am in sight, I'm working. For me that means I have to look professional, for Mika it means dealing with fans. In my time off I happily wear old shoes that I haven't polished in months, and Mika shouldn't have to deal with fans in his time off. But when working it's a different story imo.

  7. Helllllllllllllllllo!!!!

    Mika & Kendji sing "L'Aigle Noir" : http://www.mikawebsite.com/video-mika-kendji-chantent-laigle-noir/

    Merci beaucoup Antoine!

I liked it, not as soul-crushing as the original, but the two of them did a good job and really complemented each other. Kendji with his strong and powerful voice and Mika putting the emotions and fragility in there, it was a good combination.

  8. They did great, why don't you wanna see it?

They were smiling a bit, I prefer a more serious look on this song, cuz after all Barbara was singing about how her father raped her...but they did great !

That would be one reason for not wanting to see it. I love that song, gives me the chills every time I hear it. And I know Mika can sing Barbara, he proved that with la solitude, which frankly I like better than the original. But I don't think serious/sad songs are Kendji's strongest point, and Mika can go either way with them too. That's why I had, and still have, my doubts. I'll watch it at some point though, for sure.

  9. Ciao, my name is Irene, I'm 25 years old and I'm Italian

I don't speak english very well

I hope to slowly integrate this wonderful forum and to share the same passion we have for Mika. :mikacool:

    :thumb_yello::wink2:

Hello Irene, my name is Irene too. Welcome to the MFC!

  10. Guy, you made me smile, thank you.

I think a real card would be a very nice gesture. At the same time, I must admit I still have to send a 'congratulations with your baby boy' card to a niece that conceived about 4 months ago :aah: so don't pay attention to me if it's a hassle to arrange.

It's my boyfriend's niece, so technically he should send the card, but still, I'm terrible

  11. maybe it helps him to rest a bit, hope so, he is sick, One day he will break down....if he aLWAYS ROTATE; yes, I know showbuis is pressure, Mika is someone who must move but he is just a human being with limits...

He doesn't look sick to me. I think the tissues are there so he can wipe his hands after eating some of the delicious stuff that is hiding behind that big bag :mf_rosetinted:

  12. There were very regular periods of high drama over nothing, so yes, be glad you weren't here. :naughty: There was a time that Mika couldn't get on a plane without people getting into a panic that he was going to die in a crash and lord help us if he didn't tweet when he landed. I resolved that if Mika ever did die I would just turn off my computer and never log back in again because I could not handle the total meltdown of thousands of fans while dealing with my own grief. And yes there was so much talk about Mika's potential demise at that time that this actually crossed my mind. :aah:

And why? He's probably the most boring celebrity ever to walk the planet when it comes to being responsible.

  13. That scream.... was just a scream (woo) or it was a NO ???

Cause then he says "Elle me dit dance, but I don't want to. "

I know he's a big boy and stuff but I don't like when the audience is mean.

He sang the same thing in liege, where tons of Mikafans had been queueing before the people that slept at the festival even got up. Nothing to do with a mean audience, it's just him playing around with the lyrics to get the right atmosphere and build-up during a gig :thumb_yello:

Looking at the pics, I think the MFC might get some royal members soon :teehee:
