What an amazing day!!
I arrived around 1:00 pm. A few minutes after the owner of a furniture shop asked us to separate the line so we wouldn't block the view. A member of the security staff later came to push us further back at least twice
It was so cold ... 2 degrees ... my feet were freezing and my back was killing me but it was so worth it!! I met lovely people in line, including Guylaine and Cathouzouf which was nice since I came alone.
They let enter only a few people at a time so it wouldn't be chaos inside and I got 2nd row near the center, just behind Roxanne and Véronique (? I'm not sure about your name ).
The DJ set warmed me up but I would have love to be able to hear what Curtis and Max were saying, they seemed to have so much fun!
Then Mika arrived and the place ignited. I could only see the top half of his face when he was on the piano, but luckily he came on the front of the stage often.
He said, about the new french song that Doriand thought it would be nice to talk about the fact that he was getting older and that it was probably some sort of vengeance since Doriand is even older, so I dont think Mika is really that anxious about turning 30.
He messed up his set list and asked what he sould play next. He then proceeded in doing Karen and Rain like asked ... and completely forgot Rain's 2nd verse like the others said already.
Stardust and Happy Ending ...
At the end the crowd was so loud, Mika had to remove his ear pieces.
He of course ended with Over my shoulder, wich is not my personnal favorite, but was a nice ending anyway (There are several slow paced song, my personnal favorites, that he never sings )
After the show we went outise to wait for him. There were A LOT of people and I got nervous I wouldn't be able to give him my gift, but luckily the security staff kept people somewhat in line and Mika passed the whole line.
When he got to me I had to tell him twice not to sign my gift and remove it from under his pen but he finally took it. At first he took it without really looking but then he had a second look, touched it and said it was really beautiful. And then I and forgot to thank him or say anything and he was gone
Here is me earlier with my gift, a card made with fabric (Thanks Cathouzouf for the picture!! ) I hope he'll read it, I made sure it was not too long
Like I said before, what an AMAZING day!!!!!

I guess they have many pics to upload and every time they need to post updates about shows like today, they have to stop uploading those pics...?
they are puite now, so maybe it's coming soon:teehee: mika-soon:mf_rosetinted:
I wonder who are those people sometimes
Mikasoon has definitively taken over facebook

I will quote Christine from earluer in this thread
The best advice I can give you is if you talk about a time on the internet where everyone is reading they will start to come even earlier - probably by 1 or 2 hours.I've noticed over the North American gigs in the past year a serious line did not start to form until mid afternoon although he is probably more popular in Montreal than other cities so that could be a factor. But you'll just have to take your chances because if people agree to a time someone else will always try to get a jump on you and people start queuing earlier and earlier and everyone loses.

I wrote about the gig in my blog but no vids to share, sorry!

What a lovely report!
Thank you!!

Thank you for the lovely report Mana!
I'm even more excited to see this gig!!
-
Guys... I may, and I said MAY if I don't go nowhere, come and say hi to you all anyway even though I won't be watching him perform. I mean, I live very near and I can't miss the opportunity to see you all reunited together, so I might come to say hi to you all if it doesn't bother you? I miss you all, really and I want to meet some of you too...
It would be very nice to meet you
Lets hope he comes back soon so you can see him

Indeed it seems that in small streets around the theater there are areas where you can park (without parking meters) at least according to google street view.
I have this wild idea in my head that you cant park anywhere in Montreal
Oh and I've also found these websites just in case:
http://montreal.bestparking.com/
and
-
If you don't want to drive into Montreal, you can park at Métro Longueuil and take the Metro to the venue.
Hmmm I'm even less familiar with the Metro I've never taken it
I think I prefer finding a parking within walking distance (if there are any...) that way it will probably be easier after the gig
-
I'm starting to plan the trip there in case someone else lives in the Quebec city area we could travel together (I have a car) and divide gas $$... If someone is interested you can private message me if you prefer.
And another question, I'm not familiar with the area of Montreal where the Corona Theatre - what would you suggest is the best option for parking?
And might I just add 18 days left!!!!!
-
I just uploaded it, it's here:
The sound is bad but I thought she might want to see all the vids people took of the situation. I was so happy for her, I couldn't help but smiling during the whole song. This is one reason I love that pop star so much Ada did great, she was really cute!
Such a beautiful moment! Her smile through the whole song!!

Thanks for the reports and many beautiful pics!!

1:17 oh dear, the cutest way to pronounce "istanbul" wrong
For real? Then I just found out I've been pronouncing it wrong all my life (exactly like Mika did)
Well I've learned something today! lol

This is amazing, he's so sweet. The show in Montreal is in one month exactly, it will be awesome ! Mika at the piano, only Tim and Curtis (who were my favourite members of the new band). Mika reads in our minds and makes our biggest dreams come true.
You mean Max and Cutris?
But I find it strange that there wont be any guitar?
-
ONE month...
I can't wait!!
-
Husbands can't understand... But we can:thumb_yello: no need to do it with words:wink2:
Can't wait to meet you in a few weeks! You're coming, right?
Of course I am! But I'm coming alone this time, I wont drag him there
Looking forward to meeting you and everyone! And you too Alie!
-
Yes! It's about the music, but also the atmosphere in the air transmitted by Mika and everyone around ... I don't know how to describe the feeling. I tried to describe this feeling to the hubby who said I might as well listen to the show on Youtube instead of going all the way to Montreal and I didn't quite know how to explain it.
-
Hopefully youll be less shy this time
Believe me I've learned my lesson, this will not happen again!
It was my first time seeing him live and I have such great memories of that night even though I wasn't at the m & g.
-
I could be wrong but I was under the impression that he didn't come out, it's why not meeting with you at the festival is one of my big disappointments (it's entirely my fault i was too timid ). I think some people saw him beforehand (I know a girl that was next to me how got his autograph that way) But maybe he met people later ...
