  1. Hi guys.

    It's me. Again.

Why everybody did something but I and she? (me and her?)

"I and she" sounds terrible, but I cannot trust my instinct and I saw both versions on the internet.

    Which one is correct?

And then: only VS just. The big question.

It should be "me and her", because those are the pronouns you use when you are referring to the object(s) of a sentence. If you can't decide which to use, try using just one pronoun at a time. E.g.

Why did everybody do something but she?" isn't right, and neither is Why did everybody do something but I?"

But Why did everybody do something but her?" is right, and so is Why did everybody do something but me?"

So the correct sentence would be "Why did everybody do something but me and her?"

To answer your other question, I'm not sure of the rules regarding "only" and "just", but I think they're often interchangeable. I could only tell you which to use when given context. :dunno:

  2. Actually recently I have also got into lonely alcholic blue eyes and dr john I don't why it changes but I love them all basically :) origin of love and lady jane are good actually haha

    I love Lady Jane.

It's so bizarre and beautiful and wonderfully Mika-ish. :wub2:

  3. Yeah it would be great if he did tour even if it was just two shows in London :blush-anim-cl:c yeah I'm the same :wub2: there has not been much promotion for him over here :( maybe when it comes out there will be :mikalove:

It has been my dream for a long time to see him live, so I will keep hoping. :crossed:

Either way, I know I will be thrilled when the fourth album is released, whenever that may be. The more I hear about it the more excited I feel.

  4. Welcome! Nice to meet you. :bye:

You're right about the interviews - we are so lucky to have access to them all, along with translations. It's great for trying to improve at a language.

You shouldn't be afraid to post here because your English is great. :thumb_yello:

  5. Well he is rumoured to be touring next year, after the album has been released. However I can't see him doing a full UK tour so probably just one or two shows in London is all we can hope for.

If he had some chart success with a single or the album then things might be different.

Any chance to see him live would be amazing. :wub2:

I have a really good feeling about the album, but I think ultimately its success will come down to how well promoted it is. And so far we've not had much here in the UK...

Perhaps we will all just have to save up for plane tickets. :mf_rosetinted:

  6. Hallo everyone,

So I'm new here and I want to let people know who I am. My name is Daniel and the first song I ever heard of Mika is "By the time". I love his music and the story he tell's with his songs. Other songs I love are: "Blame it on the girls" (the videoclip is awesome), "Rain" and "Lady Jane".

Honestly I can listen to everything, but those are the best.

So that's my love for Mika. ^^

    cheers! :fisch:

    Good choices. :mf_rosetinted:

  7. Hey! I really agree with what you said about Mika being inspirational - I feel that as an artist he is really unique. His songs have a very rare quality to them in my opinion. They are both unconventional and beautiful.

  8. Mika: Firstly I did lots of collaborations and this time it's me. And the songs in French that were bonuses in the last album this time will be part of it including Boum boum boum, even in the American release with the songs in English.

Because that is part of my identity , so that's being honest. Also my sister and I worked together on the cover that we have created in that same colorful universe which is a way to be back into this surealist world which is a way to be detached from daily life and being able to deal with anything with real subjects like love or sex in a more impulsive manner and create more tolerance. Absurdity is helpful to open minds , it's a Tintin like universe, not a Carebear universe, a childish one , which doesn't mean kids won't like it since kids might enjoy complicated things.

I am so glad the French songs will be included alongside the English ones and not just as bonus tracks on the French release... I always love his French songs and I think they deserve a wider audience. :wub2:

Also great news about the cover!
