I was at home a year to play the piano and to study singing with a Russian teacher until I found a special school: instead of writing, I did drawings and I united/connected them visually with arrows, I recorded the lessons and listen to them again to memorize them. The songs, instead, I wrote them by ear, as I still do now. At 17, I solved the problem, but by then I was living in a fantasy world. "  

 

For this reason, in front of the Loggia del Lionello, yesterday, a group of people has exhibited/showed a banner that called attention to the problem that affects many young people, even from Friuli.

 

The city councilor of "Innovare per Honsell" (Innovate for Honsell), Raffaella Cavallo, from the columns of Messaggero Veneto, launched an appeal because Mika return to Udine "and become one of the testimonial against dyslexia." The occasion is the creation of the choir of kids/young people who suffer from this disorder of Hattiva Lab, an association at the forefront of this field. "I wanted to launch him this initiative - says Cavallo - during the meeting at the Palazzo d'Aronco, but there was no way because we had limited time available. Mika has spent several times in the past for this kind of projects. For the choir of Hattiva Lab already several artists of/from the region are moving and Mika could be a great ambassador/spokesperson."

 

 

 *A note: the interview with the monthly magazine "Max" is an old interview, and I don't know if he really said so, but there are many inaccuracies, as he explained in more recent interviews: not a "special school" but special methods to learn, and obviously "solved the problem", it doesn't mean he has solved the dyslexia, because there is no cure for dyslexia, but that he was able to compensate successfully (or enough successfully) the main difficulties.

In un’intervista rilasciata al mensile Max raccontò: «A scuola non andavo bene perché ero dislessico ma nessuno lo capiva. Sono stato a casa un anno a suonare il piano e studiare canto con un’insegnante russa finché non ho trovato una scuola speciale: invece di scrivere facevo disegni e li univo visualmente con delle frecce, registravo le lezioni e le riascoltavo per memorizzarle. Le canzoni, invece, le scrivevo a orecchio, come faccio ancora ora. A 17 anni ho risolto il problema, ma ormai vivevo in un mondo fantastico».

 

Per questo motivo di fronte alla loggia del Lionello, ieri, un gruppo di persone ha esposto uno striscione che richiamava l’attenzione sul problema che colpisce numerosi giovani, anche friulani.

 

La consigliera comunale di Innovare per Honsell, Raffaella Cavallo, dalle colonne del Messaggero Veneto, lancia l’appello perchè Mika torni a Udine «e diventi uno dei testimonial contro la dislessia».
