Actually I came here to write that I tried singing Keep it Simple today, and noticed that in that line the word "break" does sound like "Brie" if you sing it in that sentence in that tempo - you really have to focus very hard to make the "ea" instead of "ee" sound. Honestly, I'm very bad at singing especially in another language, and Mika usually sings so fast, sometimes I couldn't keep up with him. For example in his song "Stay High", I often sing "Puertoooo ricoo" instead of "Wherever we go" because he sings it so fast, I couldn't articulate the words, so I just sing something random instead   So, for me, it could be easily "Brie" instead of "break", and that's okay.

I'm not sure who has come up with the Brie, but I wanted to tell you something. Not so long ago related to the Piano Mika said in an interview that he managed to catch up with the Netflix Show "Sex Education". Long ago I watched the first season, so I thought I would watch the second season. I watched the first few episodes, and I think it was in the first ep. when two main characters were talking, and one of them said that he had an ... all the time, even when he looked at a simple cheese. Then the other character asked what kind of cheese, and he said: Brie. Coincident? Maybe.

This random chat thing was a good idea, I mostly post here and in the oldlings. It's rare that I comment on any other thread (but it happens sometimes).

Go for it! I'm all for anything that makes my day more positive (that's actually part of my New Year's resolution for this year!). The Happiness Journal is such a good idea! I've never even thought about something like that, but I completely understand why Mika takes up so much space in yours.  

I translated 50 (size A4 which is about 100 size A5) pages from my fantasy novel into English!!! Yay!!!  

I was wondering if I can open a "Happy Thread" on the forum where we can share if something positive has happened to us (whether it's a small thing, a good grade at school, a new job, or a step up in your career). I don't know if it's a good idea but we have something like this on Facebook in a translators group (it's called Positive Friday) and it's a good vibe.

I didn't know about the Greatest Showman, wow! :-) But about people bursting into song for no reason: A lot of television shows have musical episode(s) and a few of them explain why they're singing (like Scrubs or Once upon a time, but in the last one it wasn't surprising that they're singing). So if Mika wants to explain it, then he can, and that way they won't sing for no reason. :-)

I mean, it would certainly look like him that IF he had any problems with addiction, he'd count on his strong will instead of getting help. A thought I also had, but didn't write it down because I found it a bit far-fetched, was that the song could be about sex addiction... but well, the element of addiction (to whatever) in this song probably isn't too far fetched, if several people can see it. Vianney said about the song that it came from a conversation about letting go to feel better. So it could also be about letting go of all the things you think you have to do, as pictured in the video animation for the Gala. We also know that Mika is a workaholic, and if you see that in the literal sense, it means addicted to work. Maybe he finds it hard to let go of that "studio brain" of the last several months? And it wouldn't surprise me if he forgot to eat at times while he's in the studio, which would explain why he's so thin.

Oh, I didn't know what cold turkey means. I only thought that Mika is sick/has an illness, not that it's an addiction. But maybe it is, I don't know. I was thin my whole life, right now I'm 45 kg and that's my normal weight (I'm 36 years old), but last time I was as thin as Mika in those pictures, I was ill (just didn't know it at the time)...

I think you all have to take on board that “Mika” lives in the celebrity  world, so does he really want a birthday gift with a celebrity wishing him “ a happy birthday”?  Perhaps a lot of us fancies this as a birthday present for ourself, especially if it came from Mika. Anyway I’m just saying.

 

I have a different concern on the Mika front. Who has noticed that Mika is incredibly thin? He now reminds me of “the thin white duke”, that was David Bowie.

 

I guess a lot of people have seen the last 2 photos that Mika posted in his stories on Instagram? His upper body is naked and he is wearing those baggy pants. I have noticed for some time now that he is getting thinner.

 

So the song “ keep it simple” has a very different meaning for me now. Him singing “I’m so cold, comfort come for me, it’s 3am I’m feverely, help me doctor heal my pain cause  I don’t want a Mary Jane”…………….. is this cold turkey?  And also when he sings “ every bone and every part of me is aching………… anyway that’s my speculation, I could have it all wrong and I very much hope that I have.

Honestly, I thought that too (because of the pictures) but I was afraid to say anything because I didn't want anyone to worry...
