suzie
They are written as they are about a relationship. So I have never even thought anything else yes, it is obviously about a relationship but I kind of never really thought about the lyrics, like how brilliantly they were written. The first verse with the train going off track refers to something more 'abstract' and then the second verse is more about the concrete relationship. Or them dealing with the problems this abstract thing brings to their lives () ..and I don't think that the title and the Bronski Beat sound were chosen randomly.. Yes, I meant in my previous post that sometimes he has some very concrete inspiration behind his lyrics, but I always forget that part while listening to his songs (even though I have read about those things from interviews). And he has said himself that people have very different images in their head while listening to his songs, I guess often nothing to do with his original idea. Like when he is singing about train I have never thought that it could be about anything else but about a relationship (I guess the abstract you mentioned) but in real life there was actually a train and not only a symbolic meaning. Sorry, very difficult to explain
