Is the page showing ok now? Meaning that text is not getting cut off etc?

Im not saying it is $10, just that it might be. I am looking into international delivery tomorrow.

Secondly, can someone please take a screenshot of the page how you see it with the letters etc cut off please? Sounds like a layout issue that we need to fix in another browser? Perhaps you could tell us what browser you are using? EDIT: DONT WORRY, I see the issue and am working on it now

Yes, that is a rather important part, only because it either

a) takes AGES to send to a country outside the UK on cheap rate

or

B) it costs LOTS to send to another country at a fast speed.

When ordering things of this value the postage can start to seem stupid for anywhere outside the UK. I am investigating costs at the moment and we will be adding more countries by default, though at the moment we need you to contact us so we can work out custom shipping rates for you. For all I know it would cost $10 to send it to Canada!

I am TOTALLY blown away but what you have all come up with. Never did I expect so many amazing designs to pop up in this short time. Crap, I have a lot of work to do to get this all listed online... will get it done tonight if I am lucky!

Also, some of you may be in line to be contacted by the badge making business to be paid to design more badges.... not MIKA ones, but just badges in generally as there is some really great work here!

You will be able to choose from all the designs that are submitted. This will include the 'classic' design too.

You can get a free 30 day trial from adobe.com .... bit a learning curve if you have not used it before but lots of free tutorials online that may help.

You can really use any program you like as long as the image can be made at 300 dpi... in fact, I will attached a standard JPG of the template to the first post in a few mins so people can use other proggies

'Ping Wings' as I call them are my earthly creature of choice! Nothing beats them!

That is the hope.

Also, whoever 'wins' the best design will also get 4 badges with their design on sent to them for free!

How about we allow a week for entries, then we can put up a poll to allow voting?

If there is anyone on here that is feeling a bit arty and knows their way around photoshop perhaps you might like to get involved in this project?

One of the things that I have now is hardware for 25mm badge making. Proper button badges that you can wear!

Aside from standard 'mika fan club' badges, I was wondering if anyone would like to have a go at designing some others? They don't have to be MIKA related, but that is certainly the main theme

As the equipment and indeed the materials are not free I wont be able to just put an unlimited number together and give them out for free, but I will be happy to put them all online at a 'shop' so that all Mika Maniacs can buy as many as they like for gigs, showing off etc. I know that the first set last year were a success, but we were limited in what could be offered due to using a third party producer... now that I have the equipment right here it means lower costs and any design you want!

You will obviously be handing over 'commercial' reproduction rights so that we can produce and sell them to fans of Mika, but obviously you can still do what you want with your designs, sell them yourself, etc etc

I have attached the 25mm badge PSD template to this post for anyone that is interested. I have also attached a JPG of the template now. Just design within the circle and keep it at the size that is set (300dpi) as it will be shrunk down this end to fit on the 25mm badge with high resolution printing) I will also be putting some new designs online soon (along with a link to the mini shop) so that you can all have a look

Perhaps we could also have a quick competition to vote for the best design(s) that could then be given to Mika one of the gigs?

Open to all ideas, thoughts and suggestions.

It looks like we have finally nailed the issue that was causing all the recent database crashes. Fingers crossed that should be it. Deano should post a more detailed message shortly.

Thanks for sticking with us. Had a few people this end working the last few hours to get this sorted... hopefully it should be smooth as silk now

WARNING! There may be a few more database connection issues as we continue to make more changes, but generally it should be better and faster.

Just FYI: This is not change, it's a temp change just to help with forum load time testing. The layout will be "as was" likely by the time you read this
