  1. Awesome...be sure to bring the pics of Bono...I'll bring the earplugs just in case we have to hear bad covers of Queen...*has bad memories of Kelly Pickler's performance of Bo Rhap....and of Joss Stone singing Under Pressure....faints*

I love how people were upset when Brian said something about how that one guy wanted to do WWRY, and they twisted and made it look like Brian was coming off as a jerk. I was thinking to myself, 'This is BRIAN MAY from QUEEN! That guy should've been content just to lick Brian's boots!' :naughty:

  2. I think my obsession with Mika was at its peak before the album came out up until a few days ago. Before the album came out, I had Grace Kelly and Relax and Love Today on repeat all the time, and the same for the whole album when I got it, but a few days back I had my usual music shift, when I started listening to another artist lots. I think its just natural, at least for me - I'll be obsessed with a few artists for a period of time, then it'll shift to other artists. I'm sure my Mika obsession will grow again when it gets closer to time for him to come back here and tour. :thumb_yello:

  3. The Beatles! one of the greatest and most influential pop/rock acts of all time. I love their music so much, its so diverse, from beautiful ballads to quirky pop. While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Eleanor Rigby, and I Am The Walrus are some of my all time favorite songs. :punk: Could I be added to the list of Blue Meanies, please? And the extra names you have, could I be Mean Mr. Mustard? :biggrin2:

  4. My favorite author would have to be J.R.R. Tolkien. Lord of the Rings is really an amazing piece of work, and pretty much created the modern fantasy genre, but in my opinion, the Silmarillion is his real masterpiece.

I also like George R.R. Martin, and his A Song of Ice and Fire series, which is probably only second to Tolkien.

Then I love Robert Jordan and his Wheel of Time series, no matter how all over the place it is. the first five books easily rank up there with Martin and Tolkien.

I also love all the classics. 1984, Lord of the Flies, Dracula, The Once and Future King, The Great Gatsby, Paradise Lost, The Inferno, Beowulf, etc. so I'm a pretty big bookworm. :naughty:

  5. may i ask but is your picture QUEEN?

it is. :naughty: Freddie, Brian, John and Roger in their early days. before they became one of the greatest bands of all time. :thumb_yello:

  6. My mom likes him...I had him on my ipod in the car awhile back listening to Lollipop, and she was all 'is that Prince?!' and I was like 'no'....she was all 'well whoever that is, I like it' :naughty:

  7. Oh well I am very sorry to hear that, although I'm sure you'll get another chance.

    ..."'Cos you gotta have faith!"

    George Michael ahaha

That song always pops into my head

Exactly! Mika's just beginning to get noticed a lot more in the States, so he'll be back soon, especially since Chicago is one of the major cities that artists always come to, along with New York and Los Angeles. :punk:

  8. Oh my god I'm back from the gig at the Avalon.....IT WAS INCREDIBLE!

Lets see if I can remember what happened...

So I got there at like 6 and met some fan club members (Venessa you're the best!...no offense to anyone) and then pretty much waited for the doors to open. I had to squeeze in to get to the front and I managed to be in the 2nd row from the stage...sweet. After about an hour and a half of waiting Mika finally came out in all his glory and sang "Relax". Then it was "Big Girls" which was really funny. He was sandwiched in between 2 of them and he was like humping them haha. Next was "My Interpretation" which was a nice break after having jumped for so long. I think it was then "Billy Brown," "Ring Ring," "Any Other World",....all the usual songs he does. I'm sorry, I don't remember the order! I'm still in shock! "Love Today" was so full of energy that I never stopped jumping and get this....Mika took off his shirt for like half the song and of course you hear all the girls (and some guys) scream. Every song was just great! After the show was over, I got a nervous breakdown and started to feel naucous (spelling?) because my mom had arranged for me to meet Mika, with Mika's manager (?) who was soooooooo nice. Allison, thank you! After going back and forth between backstage doors I finally got in and was speechless. I patientely watched Mika sign things and take pics. My mom kept telling me to push in front of people but patience is key (in my opinion). Finally my dreams had come true. I had a HILARIOUS conversation with Mika about the gifts I got him and the card. I'll type the dialogue, but it won't be exact.

    Conversation:

Me-"I have some gifts for you"

    Mika-"Awwww"

Me-"Ok well this one is some amazing driving game that I had to get"

    Mika-"D'you know I can't drive?"

    Me-"Yeah I know! You see, I think"

Mika-"I used to have one as a kid, but I broke it because I wanted to see what was inside *giggles*"

Me-"*I laugh* Well now you have it again! I also got you this Panda bear that plays the drums and its pretty sweet."

Mika-"What? That's the most demented thing I've ever seen in my life!*laughs*Awww. I love how the drums say 'boom boom boom' on it"

    -I give him my card-

Me- "Here's a card, but some bitch ripped it"

    Mika-"Some bitch?

    Me-"Yeah haha"

-I blended the letters in a weird way and I thought he wouldn't understand it-

Me-"I don't know if you get it, but thats an 'M,' thats the 'I' thats the 'K'-"

Mika-"I don't know how to drive, but I can read!"

    -We all laugh-

-Mika looks at my sister's drawing on the back-

Mika-"Is that a horse with a peg leg?And what is that on it's leg, a garter?"

Me and my sis- "*laughter* It was a statue we saw at the 4th of July"

Mika-"I'm going to read this on the plane!"

-Signs my picture thing (and is saying it out loud)

    Mika-"To Melanie..."

    Me-"Melanie? My name's Nono haha"

Mika-"Oh oops. To Nono, crazy psycho garter wearing horse...love, Mika"

(he drew a heart with wings and something else I can't make out)

He was about to leave, but I forgot to ask him for a picture so he came back and we did a quick one because he was in a rush (sorry about that Mika!). And now I feel like I am fainting over and over again. This was THE best night of my life! I LOVE YOU MIKA!

Oh yeah! After I gave him the card I was like:

-"Oh wait, one more thing" (I reached into my pocket and handed him a Taco Bell hot sauce packet that said 'Will you marry me?"

    He laughed

Mika- "Oh thank you, I'll go put this on a sandwhich!"

    hahahahahaha

Mika, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, he DOES wear glasses! And he looks so adorable in them!

Forgot to mention something.....he was wearing GREEN drawers tonight! haha

do you know how jealous I am? I was going to go to his show here in chicago which was today, but about a month or so back, I found out I had orientation at for my college for today and tomorrow. Then, a couple days ago, they call me and tell me my orientation had been moved to next month! jerks...so basically it was too late for me to get tickets. but still, thats great you got to meet him. I always figured he'd be a great guy, and this just solidifies it. :naughty:

  9. Well, I pretty much think that at this point, no one really knows. He may be gay, he may be straight, he may be other. Either way, the fan club has assumed the position of loving Mika for his voice and his music, and his good looks which come along with both, and, as several others above have said, we don't care about his sexuality. :thumb_yello:

  11. Brian is a really super guy. I've met him twice very briefly - each time I had him to myself for a few seconds and I will definitely always treasure both of those occasions!:yay: :yay:

that's one of my goals in life, to meet Brian and Roger. So whenever the time for Queen + Paul Rodgers to come to Chicago, I'm going to be willing to jump through hoops to see them. :naughty:
