  1. But we only talk about him in Twilight....there are other movies too that he's been in that I love :wub2:

Well if you make a thread for him, I won't shy away. :)

I saw The Bad Mother's Handbook. Besides Harry Potter that's the only other movie I've seen him in.

  2. you're all right.

omg i wish you morons would stop making this about cultural differences. didn't any of you notice that he didn't use as much brit slang and toned down the accent? of course he wasn't being real russell, unless the fake russell is what he's like to english audiences. if an american comedian went to your countries and told you who to vote for, made fun of your queen, etc. you'd be ten different ways to pissed off. it has nothing to do with not understanding his humor, because when he's talking about british culture, it's funny. he was trying too hard, and i suppose it was hilarious if making fun of peoples' beliefs/personal choices is what you classify as humor.

You forgot to mention he cut off Robert Pattinson. :mf_rosetinted:

Twilight fans think that's reason enough to start a hate club.

  3. Really? I stopped watching after the first like... hour.

He got boring. I was bored with the Jonas Brothers jokes, even though I don't like the lads.

It was like he was trying too hard to appeal to the American crowd.

That was the only joke (the chapstick one) I thought was funny.

The whole beginning was wasted I felt. Maybe I'm being mean but I don't really want someone outside of the U.S. telling Americans who to vote for/talking politics even if it is a joke, blah, blah, blah. Notice how few people laughed.

Jordin Sparks was pissed though, about the promise rings. Did anyone see that?

Anyway, I won't talk badly about Russell in his own thread anymore. Sorry.

  4. there's one on facebook too. :naughty:

he's funny sometimes, but he can be very annoying.

    Rob's fans don't play around. :mf_rosetinted:

It's like he puts out a lot of bad jokes and then all of a sudden, he gets a really good one. Then he puts out more bad jokes...

  5. that's a tad extreme.

That's why I think it's funny. His (diehard) fans are so upset that they were robbed of a sentence from Robert that they hate Russell Brand.

I'm not sure I really like the guy but not because he cut off Rob. I don't think he's very funny.

  6. Guys, calm down russel probably didn't know he was going to talk, and i think robert was probably at the wrong part anyways because he was welcoming the band when russell was still talking about things.

    We're not really mad...at least I'm not.

no one knows who they are here. they're known for the ipod commercial :bleh:

Actually A LOT of people know who Katy Perry is. The Ting Tings...not so much. I still find it interesting that there are these huge elaborate performances for some and then little rinky dink performances for others. It's just a huge gap.

  7. what i don't get is they cut off the ting tings and katy perry, but they showed full performances by the rappers and the jonas brothers.

    it's an abomination.

That and the fact that the Jonas Brothers, Pink, Rhianna, Lil Wayne, etc. all got to be either outside or on the main stage while Katy Perry and the Ting Tings were on the little stage singing during commercial breaks.

  8. Yeah those yellow pants were nice, I'd never be able to pull that off, so kudos to her for that. I don't like Lil Wayne, so I wasn't really watching... But I can just imagine haha. I don't like rap much in general, but TI is really cute. REALLY cute.

They weren't even baggy pants which was my biggest problem. They were tighter pants and he had them right below his butt with a belt so that they wouldn't fall any farther, I guess.

Edit: I didn't see the thing about T.I. Yes, he is very cute.

  9. :lmfao: OH MY GOD HAHAHAH THEY CUT ROBERT OFF!

he was about to say please welcome paramore, but then russell started talking

and then after he was about to say it again but then paramore just started playing.

I YELLED AT RUSSELL!!! he started to say one word, and that ass-hole cut him off!!!

Oh I know. I squealed a little bit when he came out all excited and then we get, "Wel-" Russell Brand starts talking...again. Even when they walked out, he got stuck in the back until Cam (?) put his arm around Robert and let him in front. Taylor got to do all the talking, WTF. Rob and Kristen are the stars. Oh well, haha, I'm just mad that I watched all of that just to see Robert get cut off.

I know! LOL At least we got to see him :das: Kstew always runs her fingers through her hair! I do the same when I'm nervous, but my fingers just end up getting tangled cause of my hair.. ANYWAY, Paramore was ♥

    EDIT: Yay!

    39562_kristen_stewart_celebutopiane.jpg

She's very pretty, and I thought Paramore was really good. I liked the singer's yellow pants.

Did anyone see Lil Wayne perform? I so wanted to pull his pants up. It was so distracting.

Uh oh. Looks like Russell hit a nerve with the promise ring jokes. Jordin Sparks was just on and said basically, "It's okay to have a promise ring because not every guy or girl wants to be a slut."

I thought he was getting a little too personal as well. And what's up with him talking about American politics? He's British. Anyway, I'm done. :)

Oh wait, one more thing. Did anyone flip to VH1? It says, "Why aren't you watching the VMA's on MTV? We are." I thought that was funny.

  10. she doesn't do that crap anymore.

did you hear her? katy perry was like "i hope either of you guys win" and taylor was like "aww thanks" and miley was like "eff you guys, i hope i win.".

    such a bitch.

Yep, I heard her. I think the other two were trying to ignore it but she said it a couple of times.

    OMJ!

when they cut to katy perry, i saw taylor behind her!!!!!

i screamed so loud, and i don't even like him.

I saw him too. I was like, "Rob must be around somewhere!"

I know there are some Russell Brand fans on here but he is not funny...at all.

It seems like they didn't rehearse anything and are just giving the celebrities the microphone and saying, "Here ya go."

I wonder what Rob has to/will say.

I am glad Britney won though. I'll always be a Britney fan. :) She looks good. I hope she's finally going to grow up.

  11. lmao, i saw that!

he really did handle it well, he didn't look mad or anything.

:wub2: and his hobo look is impoving.

That's what I was thinking. I saw him and was like, "Hmmm, no hat, looks like he's actually shaved within the last few days, clothes look put together..."

  12. So did anyone see this? It's Robert coming out a club or something and some girl comes up to him...and well watch it:

    http://www.tmz.com/2008/09/05/drunky-to-twilight-hunk-pucker-up-big-boy/2#comments

I thought he handled it well. The girl is crazy. And I thought it was funny after the girl says, "I love you" and Robert says, "Really?" and then one of his friends goes, "Then, what's his name?" And she doesn't say anything.

Oh and he looks damn fine.

  13. haha yeah a few people have said they didn't want to say "I love you!"

Which makes sense since you don't know him...but maybe American culture is different in a way...

I was walking down the street one day and a guy told a lady that her ipod was hanging from out of bag, she let out a huge gasp and sigh of relief and said, " Oh My God! I loooove you!!!!"

I hear it everyday, all day... I guess it is used loosley, especially by me:naughty:

I use it if I like a celebrity too... I never finish a sentence about natalie portman for example without saying, "I love her!"

    I'm weird:naughty::blush-anim-cl:

I have a problem with saying "I love you" to people too. I say it to people in my family because I do love them. However, just random people or even certain friends, I feel uncomfortable saying it. I don't mind saying (like your example, "Oh, I love Natalie Portman" but I don't like saying, "I love you" to someone's face especially if it's not really true. Maybe that's a little contradictory but it's just the way it is. A kid I work with today for whatever reason said, "I love you." Not as in the mushy mushy let's-get-married type of thing. It was more a friendly remark, I guess, and I didn't say anything and he got mad. So then I had to say it and it sounded so awkward and it made me uncomfortable.

I read this before and when that happened at work today made me think of this so I just had to respond. Haha. :)

  14. I know. They're all being super insulting.

    I sort of like it.

BUT did you see the new Obama commercial? They released a new one since the Republicans started playing hardball. It has McCain hugging Bush and the song in the background is "if I could be more like you, the world would be wonderful" or something like that.

Yeah...is that the same one where there's video of McCain saying he agrees with Bush 90% of the time?

I didn't really watch McCain and thought that Guiliani was just being a jerk but I thought Palin had some pretty funny remarks. I laughed a couple times. Then watching the Daily Show afterward was hilarious. Jon was talking to Newt Gingrich and said something like, "Oh you know the Republicans are pushing Palin's "international affairs advantage" since Alaska is so close to Russia. Yeah, and I guess they're also trying to say that since Alaska is so close to the North Pole, Sarah Palin knows Santa Claus."

I thought it was hilarious. Then again, I'm basically in love with Jon Stewart.
