  1. Well don't be embarrassed... I couldn't stand British summers when I lived there (and they have only a few days of sun all summer!) then in Palestine I relied on a/c allllll the time. Now in Lebanon, I'm ok in the heat but I can't stand being cold and when I eventually go back to England I think I'm going to die from the cold within a week
  2. Yayyyy! a message Try and come in the summer if you like hot weather - you can have a lot of fun in the sunshine Where are you from originally?
  3. wowwwww...... the Lebanese thread was on page 6 Come on send us a message - otherwise the thread will have to be renamed as the Lara and Cubitus thread
  4. All the messages about Lebanese food have made me hungry now:) Wow!! I can't believe it - I'm number 1 on a list for the first time ever! Thank u Cubitus. Is there really Lebanese food on Mika's piano in the video then? I haven't seen the vid all the way through but I'll have a look next time. I think Nabai is in the north but I haven't been there... Cubitus... can I call you Cube for short? I didn't see the winner of Miss Lebanon - as soon as Mika's song finished I turned it to the other channel. So do you think Lebanon has a chance in the Miss World contest or will we stay true to form and not get anywhere? So is no one coming to visit Lebanon for the holidays? Not even Mika?? Anyway, it's pretty cool knowing that there's a Lebanese Friendly list:punk:
  5. Hi, Welcome to the Lebanese thread. I love it when there are new postings - how sad am I ?! Did you ever visit your aunt here?
  6. Hi again, Thanks for posting - I was beginning to think the Lebanese thread had died! I'll put some pictures up - it takes a long time to upload things though 'cos the internet connection here can be a bit slow sometimes. So you went to Aley? Most of the places there are closed now though until the summer, but thank God, my favourite sandwich shop is open all the time I'm not sure if I asked you before, but where in Lebanon is your family from? Mika's getting more famous now here - they play his songs on the radio more and on Miss Lebanon tv programme, they played 'relax' - as they were walking up and down the stage - I'd have been dancing if I was there though:) And it's never too late to visit here - I was 2 years old when I came here first and didn't return back till I was 30. Maybe Mika should do a concert here and all his Lebanese fans who live outside could come for a visit and see Mika at the same time.
  7. ha ha ha ha ha ha well done:thumb_yello: the pictures are from near Aley So you must have been there then to recognise the place...? Welcome to the thread - it's a bit small I know, but there has to be a few of us flying the flag, don't you think? I didn't see the article you mentioned but I'll try and find it maybe online. So where do you have links in Lebanon and do you visit often? I posted a reply the other day but the server was being changed and the messages disappeared... anyway, I put a pic of my dog, Grace (not named after the song) 'cos someone asked about her so... here she is again, looking very lazy but cute
  8. Errr...... what happened to the messages from today? There were some and they disappeared... how come..?
  9. Hi , I'm not 100% Lebanese either Sou; my Mum's English and my Dad was from Lebanon. It's never too late for a visit though - it took me ages to get here and when I left England, I went to Palestine before coming here... but eventually I found myself living here... It does have nice views from here - it can get a bit boring though sometimes if you don't go in to Beirut or somewhere 'cos it's a small village where I live and at night sometimes it's absolute silence apart from the noise of the millions of frogs there seem to be here!
  10. Hi Titania, My sister recently came for a holiday and she loved it here... The view's from my front balcony and from the back, I can see more mountains and the Northern part of Beirut - it's great being high up 'cos you get to see everything Hope you get to visit Lebanon some day - you never know, there might even be a Mika gig if we're lucky
  11. Yaaaay! There are actually some replies Do you think you'll ever come and visit Lebanon, Sou? It's the best place for a holiday and it's nice to see the place where your parents are from, isn't it? Come on if there are any members from Lebanon - say hi and support the Lebanese Thread:punk:
  12. Ok... Everyone else seems to have a thread but there doesn't seem to be a Lebanese one. So, if there are any Lebanese people here or just anyone really... say hi. This is a picture looking down towards Beirut from where I live And I really do think that Mika should do a concert in Lebanon:punk:
  13. I'm not as an exotic mutt as some I've read - I'm just a mixture of 2... My Dad was Lebanese and my Mum's English (with some Spanish from a gazzillion years ago). I was born in England and eventually ended up in my Dad's village in the mountains not far from Beirut. My dog's Lebanese 100%
  14. Hi, Thanks for that - sorry to be a pain What's the last date I can send things and if I can't find a photo - is that ok? I have a feeling I only have my passport photo saved on my computer
  15. Hi, Is it too late to send the letter for the scrapbook? I only saw the thread today...
  16. Well, my b/f first thought Mika was a lady (the song was on the radio), anyway, I'm still working on him; all is not lost... My cousin only likes 'Relax, take it easy', and said, 'I'm sorry Lara, I hate Mika' But!!!! the other day I had Mika on and Grace, my dog, started rolling over and over like a lunatic and having a mad 5 minutes... so I'm taking that as a good sign:thumb_yello: she has good taste I think

Hi, Thanks for the nice welcome Byblos - you're in Broumanneh? Do you live there? I think we should start the campaign for a Mika concert in Lebanon And Freddiesdouble - your posts really make me laugh

    Hi

Hi all, I just got round to doing my introduction. I'm Lara, I live about 10 minutes away from Beirut, Lebanon with my cute dog, 'Grace' (not named after the song though). I kept hearing Mika on the radio here but they never say who they're playing so it was ages before I knew who Mika was. In the end, he was on t.v. here and as soon as they said he was half - Lebanese (like me) I got online... and here I am. Now, I can't get his songs out of my head:) Anyway, I'm patiently waiting for a Mika concert here in Lebanon - hopefully before I'm too old to dance un-aided:wink2:
