Well, I hope TM makes an arrangement for the winners of the Belgian playback that never took place. It's the least they could do IMO.
Yes, the jim gig... wonderful memories.

Don't know where exactely to post this:
http://listeningparty.snowite.fr/register/b72c5f1ad9146758
Is it a secret listening party?
Can you perhaps listen to the album online there on Sept 14?
-
That is so not happening here. I work in the financial district and don't live too far from it. The only topless guy I'm likely to see is homeless.
Oh my, I feel really bad but that really had me laughing out LOUD
-
Why don't we get the nice construction workers? Could you send some over please?
I'm thinking the shipping rates would be a bit much
You could always move here?
-
I can tell you I do not want to see men walking around in public topless, although they do. It is never the GQ models who are unashamed of their bodies, sadly.
I don't know I've seen quite a few good-looking, tanned construction workers this summer

i'm not "shocked" as such by the nudity in the video, it's in fact not unusual to see nowadays, anyway in my country. i just wonder why it was necessary. the scenes would've worked without showing private parts. but in the e-mail mikasounds sent out today the subject said "controversial video" - maybe that's why they did it: to be controversial and to get people talking about it. well, if some guys watch the video because they want to see a naked woman and then start liking mika's song, why not. for me it's defintely enough though to have it watched once. well ok twice, the 2nd time i recorded the song so i don't have to watch the video again to hear it.
I had to laugh when I read that email. Is this video controversial? Seriously? Perhaps if we're talking about how many people like it vs how many people dislike it. I can understand the nudity e.g. might depend on culture / religion. Other than that?
For me it wasn't controversial though and I think it's quite boring they're making this big deal out of it to perhaps attract more attention.
I call it the Meredith Grey School of Acting that seems to be so popular with central female characters in TV today.Happiness:

Yes, I can add quite a few actresses to that list. Though I don't think the girl was that bad. I thought the man, and the nurse in particular were much worse
But I don't think this video is that complicated of a story -- in fact, it strikes me as fairly straightforward. As I said several pages ago, I believe the woman is in a clinic-type setting getting treatment for an addiction. To me, it appears to be behavior modification using aversion therapy -- they are forcing her to keep her eyes open and watch videos of her good times with her lover, and I'm assuming at the same time they are somehow either medicating her or creating negative feelings in her so that she associates what were formerly happy memories with those bad feelings, thus breaking the addiction to love. It is very "A Clockwork Orange," which, if you've read the book or seen the film, used a similar treatment to break the protagonist of his thug-like ways -- they gave him drugs to make him feel nauseous while making him watch violent films, so that he "learned" new behavior.
Ha, I hate that movie
Anyway, when it comes to movies I prefer the cinematography to the story. The atmosphere, mood, colors, aesthetic aspect, the emotions that are being evoked, the music score etc. are mainly what makes me love a movie.
Based on that I can say I don't like this film, I find the result just plain ugly. MYH was much better imo.
I liked the dog though.

FACEBOOK UPDATE ! The Origin of Love – a film by Mika and Cristián Jiménez. Shot in Santiago, Chile - http://bit.ly/Origin_Of_Love
"This film contains some nudity and scenes that viewers may find offensive. Caution is recommended. Not suitable for under 18s."
You'd think you're about to watch a dirty movie

Oh, yes! That's what I thought. Is this a popular show in the UK? It must be good publicity for him
Well, I saw it was the 10th (!!!) series already (I think we only had... 3?), so I guess it must be popular! If I remember correctly, I've seen quite a few worldwide trends about it on twitter as well in the past.
-
But he will be there singing? And not dancing? At least in Finland dancing there is a huge project, taking weeks and weeks and practicing a lot. Isn't he too busy for something like that?
I'm assuming he's just doing a performance
The cast of celebrity dancers has already been revealed and he's not one of them

I like both songs but I wouldn't mind having even a third version of MYH. To me it is a song that one can play with - unlike Celebrate, for example. I don't understand why there are more versions of it on the album. As for Tah Dah , that one sounds really cool to me and that is why I don't feel the need to hear ianother mix of it... So to me it is a more complex picture than liking the song or not.
Well, maybe your wish will come true. On the Belgian Itunes, the deluxe album says "French version" for MYH I can't play a preview yet for that one though.
-
I have to be honest, I didn't expect ANYTHING from this song... With such a title, I mean come on I was very pleasantly surprised though! I really, really like it. It's a bit quirky, I hear some influences from certain 80's songs I think this might be one of my favorites if not my favorite of the album.
-
Love this song I had it stuck in my head all day today I think I even prefer the benassi remix a bit more. (from what we've heard)
-
Je pense que le public est plus "enthousiaste" en France qu'en Belgique non?
eeehhh, non! c'est la même chose ici.
-
I'd be happy with both version, actually but I really hope I can get the French songs as well :') Especially "Karen", I just LOVE it :') I understand that as Dutch speaker, you might not really need the songs in French ^^
Anyway, as Belgium has French speakers but is NOT France, I doubt we'll get the French edition. I guess the UK one is more likely. However, I think British fans'll probably order the CD online if versions similar/identical to the Uk one are released in September.. The CD might then become *strangely* better sold in Netherlands/ France than in UK HAHA xD
I don't mind the French songs! I love French music, I listen to Raphaël Haroche e.g. all the time It's just that I would prefer the acoustic versions of the songs
-
CD TO BE RELEASED ON THE 17TH SEPT IN BELGIUM !
I've just read it on FNAC.BE :DD We can't see details nor the tracklist, though...
FRENCH EDITION, PLEEAAAASE !
FINALLY!! I was wondering what took them so long
I hope for the UK edition though...

I'm really dissapointed with the artwork... I missed the old homemade artsy ones
And my gf is a 2D-3D artist and she said it was a crime to see the bevel effect. It's really cheap photoshop-wise... So she made me a new avatar
That's great, love it!
I was just thinking about the strange line at the bottom of the cover. It's exactly the bottom part of the Mika-Picture, only a little bit smaller. So maybe it's really foldoutable. And if it is so, than there is probably the same picture of Mika beneath it. But as it must be smaller, than there is much more space above Mika. So MAYBE there is a picture under the one we see now where the artwork is exactly like he has described it in the Belgian interview (lot of things coming out of his head...)?Just guessing - and hoping
I've thought about that too, I hope soYep That is what I've been hoping for from the moment I saw the "under picture" thing ^^Same, seems a lot of us are hoping for this

Yet another google alert in the mail this morning:
-
I'm sooo happy I could get my tickets ! I was ready on the 3rd August but I really struggle to get my tickets. After 30 seconds, the gig was sold out according to the Cirque Royal while Livenation & Fnac had still plenty of tickets... I had to try at least 5 times before being able to order the tickets I needed =_='
Really, I was so relieved when the tickets arrived in my mailbox :') I couldn't make it to his last 2 gigs at Les Ardentes & Suikerrock, thus I'm really really looking forward to be on the 3rd November ! Also, I've been told that Le Cirque Royal's the best Concert Hall in Belgium, with the AB & Le Botanique. ))
Still 2 months and a half to go, I caaan't wait :'>
I have to agree! Well, except for the tiny venue that's just 500 metres from my place

I don't know if this was posted already?

I wouldn't mind other people coming to this but it would be nice if the Belgian fans who want to go, get their chance before others That's just normal. I'm sure you guys felt the same about Amsterdam.
So yes, I'll do everything possible to win and I'll be there either way.
