  1. Awww, good thread. I need to lookup my blood type...

To be honest I'm terrified of blood and needles. But after 9/11 I wanted to do something to help, and so in order to get more comfortable with the idea I began to volunteer at our college blood drive. I did eventually donate, and I loved volunteering and was very active in the drive for the next year... I should start that up again, especially since I think I'm not allowed to donate in the US anymore.

One of the stranger places I've gotten a date too. :naughty:

  2. You PUSHED hard during Lollipop, because you were trying so hard to get on stage -- because it is your life long dream to dance on stage with Mika.... all hot and sweaty in an animal suit...

--- OH then you jumped on my head in a last effort attempt to jump the barricades .... yep, you can admit - it was you :naughty:

Hahah, THAT you can't accuse me of! I mean, besides being on the other side of the stage from you. :naughty: I quickly figured out that the best I could do in my situation is help the people in front of me up, and dig my heels in ad bear out the push from the back... so that is what I did. :thumb_yello:

Nono, thank you! I don't think I do at all really, it's just the apple. :wink2:

  3. Mika can make a blog that will be guaranteed appeal to a few hundred hard core fans or he can build an ezine that is reflective of his tastes and includes contributions from others that will appeal to a different type of blog reader.

If Mika is to get any satisfaction from these blogs outside of the obvious commercial ones, he needs to make the kind of blog he envisions and attract the kind of blog reader he can relate to and vice versa. Just like he enjoys having crazy MIKA fans in the front row of his gigs and not middle-of-the-road Craig David fans.

You're right, that's a good way to look at it. I suppose it would be very interesting to see what the blog could develop into, given the room and the time. True, he could well make it into an interesting, independent creation that will have to be taken on its own terms rather than as "notes from Mika."

If he's not going to get any personal satisfaction out of these blogs I don't think there's much point in putting any kind of real effort into it. I think the fangurls would be happy with a few videos a month of him acting cute for 2 minutes and he could delegate the task of editing, uploading, posting and moderating the comments to someone else.

I must be a fangurl then; I have to admit I'd be pretty happy with that. :naughty:

  4. I am very avare of what you posted in the 1st post, and no,I haven't read the whole thread because I don't want to,I'm talking about the thing you wrote in your first post.

Maybe you should read your post again.

Ok, let's do it together. :mf_rosetinted:

I don't understand what's wrong with the thing that Mika wants to comunicate with his fans through the blogs and vlogs. I personally find it really nice and polite. Would you like him to be tough and nasty and unpolite with his fans, like some other pop stars are? To don't give a damn for them, altough they're his biggest support?

No, quite clearly, what I said was:

But this blog thing, I just want him to shut up. Not entirely, but I find myself cringing when I see new posts on the blog thread, thinking, "oh geez, did he post another one already? I hope not." I go to Mikasounds, wait for it to load... and am filled with relief when I see that there's no new blog.

I like to have a little space! I want to discuss Mika-related stuff without his constant meddling and interruption. I can't handle having to keep up with his minutiae every day. I think a blog a week would be good, let us breathe a little!!

Where you get that I want him to be mean or rude or nasty, I have NO idea.

Maybe you don't find it interesting and maybe you don't like it,but I'm sure that the majority like it.

Gee, funnily enough I'm quite aware of that:

Anyone with me? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

    ...I thought not.

After all - why do you comment there then,if you hate such things and want him to just 'shut up'?

If you read my original post again, you'll see that in fact I don't want that.

I just want him to shut up. Not entirely...

I think a blog a week would be good, let us breathe a little!!

It's called "modifiers." I don't want him to stop blogging, I just think it would be better if it was a weekly blog. Not that it matters.

I also didn't say "I hated such things." I said I liked some of the text blogs "when they are done well" and the videoblogs. I comment on the stuff I like.

Also, what do you want him to write about? ...WHAT do you want him to write about?

It's not so much the "what" as the "how."

For Pete's sake, Mika, I don't care that you got a comic book or a new toy unless you tell me something interesting enough about it to make me care.

As in, I want him to provide a bit more of his own opinion on the stuff he's linking us to, WHY he likes it, WHY he thinks it's worthwhile, etc. Not just slap a link and an "it's brilliant!" on it. But again, it doesn't really matter what I think... as I explained.

Your other questions I already answered in the rest of the thread that you didn't feel like reading.

Well I don't know. Why do you comment on this thread when you haven't read it (or even the first post, apparently)?

  6. I don't know Mika at all! :naughty: But if you like children's animation like Wonderpets, I can maybe recommend this:

    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=sICgWJ46_4E

It's not similar, mind. For one, the pacing is a lot slower, because it is from Russia in like, the 60s, and stuff was slower then. Also, the subtitles aren't that great. But it's really quite good... and the second series starts with Gena the Crocodile's birthday and his song about how he's determined to enjoy it even though it's on a rainy day "because birthdays only come once a year," and my mom used to sing that to me whenever I was sad. :blush-anim-cl:

    --Jack

  7. ok im REALLY angry right because you definitely cant win against majority

Mikasounds will become a place for the MFC only, with CORPORATED COMMENTS to please his fanbase fans and some video to ENTERTAIN and if thats what he wants, im leaving. he can nicely dance with ignorant and so called happy people. fine for him.

Pam, I ASSURE you that the people who are "tired" of his blog are not anywhere close to a majority. :naughty: Even the people who agree with me are just saying it can be overwhelming when it's like 3 blogs a day, but they still want blogs! And most people are enjoying them as they are.

Me, now, I see nothing of particular interest in the wonderpets that I haven't seen in other children's programming. (Some of it worse, some of it better.) And you know what, this blogging spree has convinced me that Mika and I really wouldn't get on in real life... I wouldn't get him, he wouldn't get me, we'd both bore and annoy each other. Well enough!

That doesn't mean I seriously want him to stop blogging about stuff that amuses him, or seriously expect him to listen to me even if I did. And my expectations or wants are moot anyway, because it's not up to me, it's up to him--and he's his own person, come on. I trust him to take the feedback he gets, both in the shape of my silly threads and people's response to the silly threads, and the comments on his blog--and make his own decisions, that reflect his desires. Which, in the case of my thread, is most likely to be to totally ignore it. :naughty:

(Those desires may be tempered by a wish to please the fans and business considerations, but that'll be his wish and his business.)

  8. It’s because I’m not so confident with the English language.

I can use it and I can read it but many times I come across words that I don’t understand, and when you through yourself in to a debate and people start to question your opinions it can get really hard to come up with an answer.:wink2:

I agree with Chicky, your posts always come off as very well-written to me! I guess you are right it is hard in a debate, but you should not feel shy... and if anything, write it in your own language and leave it up to us to figure it out. :wink2:

    --Jack

  9. Well, I was serious about being bored with the blogs. The thread was intended in a joking manner because I don't actually think I have any authority to demand that Mika should or should not cater expressly to my wishes--especially when as I said, I expected to be in the extreme minority here. So yeah, my "telling Mika what to do" was a joke. I happen to the think the idea of little-ole-me "demanding" that Mika blog less, as though my opinion is so important--when it's obvious so many people love the blogs--is extremely amusing in being just so very damn silly. I suppose not everyone finds that as humorous as I do though.

Also, btw, I never called his vblogs "crap." In fact, I specifically said I preferred their content to some of the text blogs.

Ad I'm still waiting for the tea-making (birthday tea-set use entirely optional!) vblog. :naughty: Andy Andy please?

    --Jack

  10. I am now tired of this thread. :blush-anim-cl:

    I've said before:

    a) the thread was created to make fun of me as-a-fan more than Mika or his blogs, and I'm sorry if you don't get it...maybe you work in an office. :wink2:

    b) If Mika would seriously get upset that some random fan was bored of his blogs of all things (and I specifically noted that I've been enjoying his music afresh lately), then man, Mika is a princess. I think he's a little less over-sensitive than that.

    c) Hey, look at that, no blogs for a while! Now if he posts a new one we'll be all excited. See, even though I was joking, it does too do good to complain. :naughty:

    --Jack

  11. Hmmmmmmmmmm....

...my big worry is the no win sitch he seems to be in.

If he egnores "our" requests to make more vblogs/make less vblogs/make specific vblogs...........the punishment for not doing so becomes...we won't like him anymore or at the very least won't support him/buy his products/etc.

I certainly will continue to support him whether he takes me up on my silly requests or not. :bleh:

    --Jack

  12. Wow, this thread woke up! And Yop is here!

Do you guys think maybe I was too mean in the 1st post of that thread? I really meant to poke fun at myself for being so hard to please and "bored of Mika" than Mika himself. I hadn't realized that I mostly started negative threads lately. :blush-anim-cl: I may have to do a positive one even if he doesn't take me up on my vlog idea.

    --Jack

  13. Oh boy.

Jack, you do like to tell it like it is and I like that about you.

Mika - I hope your feelings aren't hurt. Jack is truly lovely, but she's always speaking her mind. She's sincere though.

Wouldn't you rather have a diverse range of fans? :naughty:

If Mika's feeling are hurt because I'm being silly, well... I would be sad, but also surprised 'cause I'd think he was more thick-skinned than that. Especially since being bored by blogs hardly seems like a huge thing to me. :naughty: I love my cousin for instance, and she's one of my favorite people ever, but she also blogs a lot and I tell her all the time that I can't be bothered to read her blogs. She likewise tells me she couldn't care less about some of the things I write about! We get along super.

And anyway, I have expressed my admiration for Mika on various fronts more than repeatedly. I just like to have a bit of fun and commotion with my threads. :naughty:

    --Jack

  14. Now that would be a good one!!

Forget about the tea and the mugs, that could be considered like an imposition/obligation/expectation, like last year's "Thank You for the present" blog, which to me sounded a bit defensive and like he thought that he was supposed to be saying it, but he didn't really want to...

Yeah, I was worried it may come out like that... But I don't care if he uses he tea set or not, that was just included for fun. I just think a vblog about tea-making could be fun.

Although I like the idea of reading and responding to MFC comments as well. :thumb_yello: So if he does either I'll do my happy-Mika thread.

    --Jack

  15. Of course these blogs aren't for everyone (I sometimes wonder what you DO like about Mika, because all you ever seem to do is moan about him LMAO, and I don't mean that horribly!!!!)

Well if he does a tea blog, you'll find out, won't you? :wink2: I'll start an entire thread on it.

Btw, "if you don't like, don't read" isn't so simple--my problem is that I feel like I have to read them soon as they go up, because that's all the rest of MFC is talking about, and if I don't, I'll be left out. So really I should be whining at MFC: "stop talking about the bloody blogs so I don't have to keep up with them!" :naughty:

    --Jack

  16. OK you Mika loving people, I now feel drummed out of a thread, thanks for that. If the shoe was on the other foot, there would be cries of bullying.

Poof, babs. It's my thread and you if anyone certainly have a place at the table here.

    :gathering:

    See?

    --Jack

  17. I think many of us have just gotten too picky  He gives us blogs, they're his blogs, he posts what he wants in them. If you don't like them, then don't watch/read them! It seems pretty simple to me... That's my opinion.

He controls his blogs, not us. If you want him to post something else, too bad! He has posted many interesting things, and he's posting them to share them with us and maybe we can get into what he posts too. Whining about what he posts in them isn't going to get anyone anywhere. All it does is make more threads with more complaining and conflicts. That's what running through my mind anyway :bleh:

I agree completely with daisylou by the way. :groovy:

Well of course it is completely preposterous of me to act like I have any authority in telling him what to blog about, or to complain about something everyone's been begging him to do for ages! It is absolutely ridiculous! That was really part of the joke. Not that I didn't mean what I said, but I absolutely recognize the intense sillyness of it, and that was what I was sharing with y'all.

    --Jack

  18. anyway, about a tea blog, if he did one I would watch or read it, but but I am sure he did a tea blog aaages ago while eating scones and jam and cream, so what more can he do with a tea blog, tiz been done. :mf_rosetinted::bleh:

I want him to show us in detail just how he makes his tea! After going on for ages about how picky he is about the process, and how picky he is about his tea, I think it could be fun to see it shown step-by-step. A Tour of Tea.

    --Jack

  19. By the way, as you can tell by the last sentence of my original post, I totally wasn't starting this thread to get people to talk trash about Mika's blogs. I honestly thought I'd be the only one, and I thought it was rather funny of me to feel this way considering I am someone who's a professed Mika fan.

So I thought I'd entertain people with my weirdness. :naughty:

But apparently I am not so weird... :angel_not:

Anyway, far as I'm concerned, this thread is now about getting Mika to tea-blog!!

And as I said, if he does, I will post a super-positive thread.
