  1. Here's the part where he introduces his band and thanks his fans :wink2:

:wub2: Thanks for that video. Didn't really hear that bit too well 'cause we were already all lined up backstage for the death march (with the skull on)...

Asked some of the other big girls afterwards if Mika had really said this "Thank you" part - but no one had heard it, so I thought I was imagining things (wouldn't have surprised me :teehee:) - so afterwards I was happy to find out that I was right. Such a sweet thing to say!

We had done Amsterdam the day before, so we needed to get to Luxembourg somehow since we hadn't booked a room for the night. So at about 2am (and s.th. like an hour of rearrnaging our stuff in the car) Bubblespurry (Nico), MrsDeer (Cindy), Mellody (Karin) and me headed off direction Luxembourg. What a fun car ride! :aah::teehee:

They dropped me off at Cathrine's (Cath85) at around 7:15 in the morning (thank you!) and I finally got to sleep for a few hours (hadn't slept at all the night before - so after 47 hours with no sleep I really needed that break :aah:). Neither Johnny (johnny06) nor me had heard our alarm bell - so we only just got up when Cath's mum woke us which was at 1 pm, so no early Qing for us :aah: But I felt like newborn :arf2:

Ok, so we eventually managed to get to the venue quite late (I guess it was around 4:30 pm). Obviously there were no numbers left, but we decided to Q with the other MFCers anyway 'cause it's a lot more fun!

    - Johnny and Nico were immediatelly chosen for the show - but Cath and me who had also tried our luck to be a bg/lg - weren't chosen (at first). But then, after a few minutes, Anna came back to look for more bgs and since Johnny had told her that I wanted to be a bg she picked me :yay:

I joined the others and we were practising the death march a few times. Then, again, more people were needed for the show...And that's how Cath made it, too in the end! (thank you, Johnny :huglove:)

I was really happy that I could experience this show with my friends!

We were then showed to the dressing room and Mrs. P. got everyone their costume, we signed our contracts and were explained when we had to come back backstage to get dressed etc. At one point while Mika's mum was explaining s.th. she suddenly looked at me and said s.th. like "Oh, you've done it before. I remember you. So you know how it goes.":teehee:

While we were in the dressing room the girl standing next to me (who was also a bg) suddenly asked me what my name was. The moment I told her I remembered where I knew here from - it was Myriam (and her sister Rosetta) with whom I had waited several hours outside Amsterdam train station in 2008 after Westerpark :teehee: Such a funny coincidence! Hadn't met them ever since and we couldn't stop saying how cool that was.

We then went back to the audience until 8pm - when the bgs and lollipop girls had to come back backstage to get dressed. Was wearing one of the yellow corsets this time. Myriam and me also got some really colourful shoes (loved them!)

  2. so I've been chosen as a lollipop girl after mariposa and johnny had already been chosen to be on stage. so I was able to live the whole backstage experience with them! it was quite a relief not to have to queue all alone and experience the gig without them! :bleh:

most of the pictures of us dressed up were taken by other people, so I hope I'll find a way to get them.

but here's the pic we took with mika after the show

    12296_397777332430_776087430_3995393_8192551_n.jpg

I think we really need to say a BIG THANK YOU again to Johnny (johnny06) for immediately thinking of us when Mrs. P/Anna/Maria needed more bgs and lollipop girls and getting in touch we us. Thank you! :group_hug:

will post a few dressed up pix later. don't have a group one. we did one before the show and one after. (I think it was Alisson who took them), can't wait to see them!

Cath, your group pic is great! love it! :thumb_yello:

    Here's mine

    P1070588.jpg

and which mfc guy had those amazing colourful wings-shoes... loved them too! Me likeeeyyyy:)

    That was Bubblespurry :wink2:

It was the first thing Mika's mum told him when we were practising the death march. They are from Jeremy Scott (Katy Perry's favourite designer).

I've filmed everything :wink2: If my videos are good enough for you :aah::bleh:

cool! really looking forwards to watching them! :thumb_yello:

  3. Trying to find out about the crying.

They got Toy Boy back tonight, and an extra "Relax"

    Ah, that's cool! :thumb_yello:

So he only did "La solitude" for the last few French gigs.

I also wonder what Ingie was talking about...what they did to make him cry (and if "him" is da M or someone else...)?

Looking forward to reading the reviews!

edit: just read Silver's last post. Sounds great!

  4. I really LOVED the cd played just before Mika's show started. (the cd/playlist with lots of French stuff on it like Yelle, Camélia Jordana, Michel Sardou - that's the French ones I remeber. Does anybody by any chance remember the other French songs? Really liked the mix.)

Ok, so what can I say about the show itself?

I love, love, love it! It's live so much better than just watchng vids on yt! I really love the fact that the band has an even more important role in the whole thing now than it has already been the case for the start of this European tour!

I just love seeing them all on stage having a good time together!

    P1070417.jpg

My pix didn't turn out that good, so I'll only post a few in this report...My vids are already in one of my last posts.

At the beginning, when Jimmy (? Or who's first on stage, forgot that) sit down on the sofa the lamp fell over - funny moment.

And then it was the astronaut's part. Was funny, too to see Mika peeking through the curtain just before he was lift up :biggrin2:

Anyway, the whole planet/space scenery looks amazing. But you already know that I guess. lol. But it just has to be said. I love all the details, the props, the animation, everything...and the death march also looks a lot better with these "new" characters on stage IMO.

Love all the song intros (most of which I filmed).

    The astronaut has touched ground.

    P1070431b.jpg

Loved seeing it all live! I know it's difficult to rank Mika gigs, but for me this one is definitely in my favourites. The whole atmosphere was great. Not enthousiastic in the beginning, but still great. Mika seemed to be in great spirits as well. Was talking a lot and seemed to be really sincerely happy to be on stage.

    P1070437.jpg

At one point he thanked everyone for having been so supportive during the French tour. And he also said that it's amazing how much has changed for him and the band members over the last years.

    P1070484.jpg

I think it was really cute when he asked us to sing Happy b'day to Zuleika :wub2: Bless her! (and of course Mika had to add that little cheeky comment afterwards that he now wouldn't have to get another pressie for her ^_^)

Ida's opera voice is stunning. Had seen her a couple of times before at Mika gigs, but it was all small shows or even acoustic shows like the Comedy Club show. But I think this version of Good gone girl is really genious.

    P1070457.jpg

I also think it's great that he decided to do a Barbara song cover for the French gigs. Before doing that he said that he was starting now to do songs in French...Really emotionally sung.

    P1070494.jpg

    P1070508.jpg

After Mika had finished "La solitude" he put the strings of the white toyboy on Jimmy's bass who then had him (the toyboy) walk on the floor etc. Very cool!

    P1070500.jpg

    P1070502.jpg

Another thing, the "evolution" of Kick ass being played after the gig is amazing to see. When they first started it the band, big girls and lollipop girls etc had already disappeared way before the middle of the song. And now look what it has become. Was great to see how many people were joining in Martin's and Sunshine's little routine!

    P1070520.jpg

Well, to cut a long story short, the show was absolutely fantastic! Had a fabulous time singing, dancing - enjoying the moments.

It was lovely meeting everyone again and also meeting some for the first time. I just always love the whole socialising/chatting thing around gig.

So after the gig I got myself a copy of the tourbook - they are wondeful! So many lovely pix! We were then going outside looking for the backstage entrance/exit. There were only 5 people when we arrived so we already thought that maybe we were waiting at the wrong place, but then some more French fans arrived - but not too many. Altogether we were only s.th. like 25 people. Probably because of the cold/wind. Was freezing and couldn't even bow my fingers properly after a while (should have taken gloves ay)...Was also feeling that I was actually very tired.

The big girls, lollipop girls etc soon joined us and soon after that John came and told us that Mika wouldn't be talking because of some voice problems.

But somehow he was talking quite a lot during the M&G...

Had my tourbook signed and when Tina told him that she had really enjoyed the shw he was suddenly looking at us asking "Where are you from?" She had talked to him in English obviously. So that must be why he asked I think. When I told him that we're from Germany he seemed to be surprised (I added thatStrasbourg is really not that far away from the border - yay, I'm da geography mastah! ha!). But yeah, anyway, don't wanna bore you with the details...

But he took his time and singned stuff for everyone. There was a little girl with her grandma who was so happy when she could give him a bag full of presents - that was so cute!

All in all it was a great day (I hope that point became clear somehow lol).

Really looking forwards to Dammy and Luxembourg now. Yeah, roll on Thursday night and my night train.

    *the end*

(ok, off to bed now, it's way past my bedtime, need to get up in 4:30 hours...)

  5. Ok, so I was doing this gig with Miri (Hasibobberle) and Tina (Tina78)...They have both been infected with the Mika gig virus during the German dates :naughty:

Decided last minute that it would be better to go to Miri's place already on Sunday, was scared that I might miss my train on Monday morning (I know I should stop worrying too much in advance :aah:), Tina arrived about the same time. It was fun to already share the pre-gig excitement with the girls...Somehow I couldn't sleep at all when we tried to get some rest for a few hours before heading off...My biorhythm is totally upside down these days...should really start going to bed earlier.

Anyways, to cut a long story short. Didn't sleep at all until 5am - and that's when we got up :aah:

Managed to leave Miri's place at around 6 and arrived at the venue around 7:15. Got numbers 6, 7 & 8 *yay* P1070388.jpg

We learnt that the first 3 fans had arrived at 4am - it was their first Mika gig and they were all excited about seeing Mika.

The Qing was fine, Sephira did the list, it was all pretty relaxed, most people only started to arrive around noon.

The only thing that was not that fun was the raining/thunderstorm part. Most of the time it was only drizzling a bit, but at one point it started to rain very heavily. Luckily that didn't last too long though. Was happy I hadn't decided to wear my flats after all...

I think I already mentionned the security guy who got us waiting fans a few extra umbrellas - lovely!

Well, after that more people started showing up - Soon there were 100 people on the list. At about 4:30 (? don't really remember what time it was) John came to talk to us and told us to queue at another entrance what we happily did. :biggrin2: The French Universal manager was with him. They wanted to know again if people on the list were from the MFC, so the Frenchies explained him that basically we all knew each other, so it was fine.

Waited there some more when Fluffy arrived and started to film the fans (I did what I always do when there's someone with a cam around - hide :teehee:). Well anyway, Mika was live on the radio while we were still waiting in line (I think it has already been posted somewhere here on the forums what Mika was asked?) - so I joined a group of teenies to listen to it - very cool. I wish there would have been something like that for any of the German gigs *sigh* (Still can't get over it how poorly they had promoted the tour :boxed:). But that's another story.

Shortly after that security let us inside the railings were we again lined up in order of or numbers. Since there wasn't enough room there was one line number 1-50 and another one numbers 51-100 - so actually we were looking like we were a guard of honour or s.th. lol. Well. Mika's mum then to see who wanted to be on stage and Andy filmed it all.

Once again I have to say that I think it is absolutely AMAZING that so many of us fans are/were given the chance to have this experience :wub2:

As you already know Nanou, Axie and Sephira were among the "lucky audition winners" (:roftl:), along with many others. They then enterred the venue and soon after the security guys lead us to the entrance, too. It was all perfectly well organised. No running at all. So everybody got the spot they "deserved" (I don't like this term, but you get what I wanna say). Was standing almost at the very centre, a little bit more towards the right.

The venue then soon was filling up with more and more people and then - in order to get in the Mika gig mood - everyone in the front row started to do the wave... We did it like 20 times in a row and everytime more and more poeple joined in. It looked so beautiful!

Even so the show hadn't started yet I was already admiring the set of the arena show live. Looks really impressive!

At 8 the supporting act started to play. And I have to say that they are really good. Had had a look (and a listen obviously) at La Patère Rose's myspace before and had already liked it - and they surely DO know how to make people sing and dance along and create a good atmosphere! I really enjoyed it!

    P1070407.jpg

    Btw, I really think he's fit :mf_rosetinted:

    P1070406.jpg

    Writing part2 now...

  6. Thanks for the reports, girls. It sounds like it was a lot of fun, and that the atmosphere was very relaxed.

It really was. I'm really happy I decided to do Strasbourg. Seems to me that it was a lot more relaxed than the two Bercy gigs for example.

I also loved the wave (la ola) before the gig. It took some time, but after a while the whole place was joining in! It looked amazing and was a fun way to get in the proper Mika gig mood! :thumb_yello:

I´m at home now and very tired, so I only write a little report.

Strasbourg usually was not in my plan, but after Munich and Stuttgart I decited to go to another Gig of this Tour and now I´m so happy that it worked for me!!! (Thanx to laurence for the tickets).

The new Show is :fangurl: !!! I love the Set design with the Planets , it´s absolutly amazing. For me is Relax more an opening Song than Rain and I´m happy with it. The Rain Intro is one of the Highlights for me and It is perfect in the middle.

The idea with the suitecase is fantastic, esp. the Big Girl Intro is so funny. Then the GGG Intro with Ida, what a voice!!! …

For me it´s difficult to write my emotions down, but I think you all know what happend with you on a Mika Gig. I enjoyed every second, dancing , singing and having fun.

Mika has so much energy, seems to be very happy and satisfied with the croud. For me it was a little bit stupid that I doesn´t speak french, so I dont understand what he told all the time. Thanx Mariposa for the translating after it.

The Zenith is a big venue, but it is all good organised. The security was very friendly and helpful to us. When it rained , they brought us umbrellas and while the concert we got water. I badly remember Stuttgart, where they are at the entrance all the drinks decreased and it was so hot in the venue.

M & G was nice, because not many fans where there.

So you're back home, girl! :thumb_yello:

I hope you didn't forget about your plans to go to bed early today?! :aah:

    Btw, great report, Tina!

Was just as overwhelmed as you to finally see the arena show live :wub2:

So much better than I had imagined from watching all of the vids on yt.

I love love love it! Really looking forwards to Dammy and Lux now! :woot_jump:

Yeah, the security team was great! Couldn't believe it when they brought us fans some extra umbrellas! :thumb_yello:

Well, we (Miri aka Hasibobberle, Tina aka Tina78 and me) didn't need one - we had already made ourselves comfortable with the situation :naughty:http://twitpic.com/1kx2q0

But some people hadn't brought any rain coats or anything. So this was indeed very lovely!

Here's my videos. Didn't record that much. Just have to jump at a Mika gig, can't help it. So, anyway, just a few bits :wink2:

Oh, and I can't zoom in once I started recording...but at least the sound is pretty decent I'd say.

    Rain intro

    Death march & LT intro

    the killing scene

    We are golden intro

Kick ass (sorry for all my jumping - I somehow must have forgotten that I was filming - ahm the stage pit was beautiful, wasn't it?! :teehee::blush-anim-cl:)

But it's filmed from another angle than Fanny's vid, so yeah, just put it together and you've got the whole scenery :biggrin2:

edit: Greaaaat pix, Tina. I still think they're great! (couldn't trust my memory from watching them last night while almost falling asleep lol)

ok, will try to write a real report now...

  7. Didn't have time to write a report in the review thread yet, will be doing that sometime in the next hours :wink2:

    Also uploading my vids atm

    of course

and the architect is italian :italia:

my ticket will be there, i hope he will enjoy the show with a nice new owner

yay, Allegra. I was the lucky person to have your ticket! :huglove: It brought me luck :wink2:

And yeah, the venue looked nice - both from the outside and from the inside! (sounds like I'm talking about a person lol)

First one: no, not again :aah: Poor boy :tears:

Second one: :wub2: That's so sweet. Happy Birthday, Zuleika! (I know, it's probably too late, anyway )

Voice problems? Not nice at all... But no wonder, six shows this week and traveling every day/night is definitely hard work and a tough schedule. Reasonable that he has to be careful with his voice (but typical that he did speak at the M&G regardless)

Only 25 peeps? Sounds cosy :biggrin2: Can't wait for the reports/pics/vids!

Yes, it's been a crazy week for him

All these gigs all over France with night travelling...not the best.

Because the Nantes - Toulouse - Nice in a row was hard.

I wished him a safe trip to Toulouse after the Nantes gig... and he looked at me with a funny face and grimace as if he thought "don't talk me about that" !

Hope he/his voice will be ok for the next gigs

Oh and 25 people : the dream !

Mika was really talking a lot at the M&G afterwards (so I suppose he wasn't THAT sick...but with so many gigs coming up it would have probably helped to rest his voice a bit :wink2:), but he was all smiley - probably relieved that there wasn't a line of 200 people waiting outside. :teehee:

So, yeah, it was only about 25 people, really cozy :thumb_yello:. I guess most people just didn't want to wait because it was during the week and really freezing (stupid wind! :sneaky2:).

More to come in the review thread later...

  8. Just came back home from Strasbourg. Need to rush to uni in a minute, already skipped my morning lessons - but still had to at least peek in here to see if there are any reports yet :wink2:

I absolutely loved this gig. It was a really cool and relaxed atmosphere in the whole place - but still very happy and cheerful.

Had a great spot just a little right frow row centre :wub2:

Will write my report tonight, I promise :teehee:

The "dead march" was kind of a nightmare for me because I couldn't see anything as I was wearing my mask and had no idea where I was on stage... until I heard friends of mine screaming "Naanouuuuuuuuuuu" which helped me figuring out i was somewhere near the middle of the stage :roftl: I wonder how the entire procession was anyway, so am looking forwards to see the vids people have taken

Filmed that bit. Will upload it tonight!

The final on lollipop and kick ass was just amazing! I've danced like a mad cow and we made a group dance on KA, following Martin's moves!! it was so much fun!!

Filmed most of Kick ass, too. I LOVE the little KA routine :mf_lustslow:

    Ok, I'll be back later...

  9. Just read through these last pages...

Things got a lot clearer now. Thank you everyone and Humphry in particular! :wink2::thumb_yello:

And I have to say that I feel sorry for Sara. It seems like some people just blamed her without any reason.

Will be interesting to see how the lists will be done in the future...

  10. At the moment It looks like, that you need a Raincoat.

It´s totally crazy with the weather forecast for Strasbourg

Yesterday it was -1 till 10°C , today it is 10°C-15°C and raining ?

Ok, on Sunday I should know what jacket I need.

Still looks very likely today...hope there's the place to stay away from the rain :aah:

    Looking forwards to tomorrow! :groupwave:

  11. Just read what people were writing on the issue on mikawebsite.com...

Tbh, is seems pretty weird to me that all of a sudden only MFC people should be given priority - and French fans who have been waiting since dawn are excluded. Why is that?

I mean, especially in France where many fans are not registered on the MFC but on one of the French forums (mikawebsite or Mikafrance).

MFC people are not better or "truer" Mika fans than any other fans! :boxed:

Besides, I don't think all MFCers always have their buttons with them on a concert...I don't.

I'm hoping for some clarification/first hand reports...

  12.

thanx to kate for retweeting! :thumb_yello:

still wondering who the guest was though?

Jess wrote on the mikawebsite.com forums:

Il a chanté "La solitude" de Barbara en entier avec la fille de la Panthère Rose à l'accordéon."

So Mika did the song with the girl of Panthère Rose
