Ummm, hello 🙂 I think it's been about 10 years since I last logged on, holy crap, but great to see some familiar names still popping up on the thread....

So the reason for my post is I just found out today I'll be in Brisbane on the night Mika is playing at The Tivoli- what are the freaking chances!! I knew there was no way he'd get to Perth so the stars have aligned to help me get there!!

Hope everyone is doing great (even though I still keep up to date with a few of you via FB 🙂 )

orange corset! the girl who did it up didnt do it up tight enough at the top...lets just say one false move and I could have had a wardrobe malfunction that would have brought a whole new meaning to flashing hearts!!

 

Ill do a report sometime maybe tomorrow! then post it maybe while waiting for my plane on friday...

Im still buzzed I've only slept 3 hours in the last 48 hours!

 

I didnt get to meet him but meh...things can happen in the future! if you had told me even in june id be going to a mika concert in another country, let alone dance on stage in a big girl outfit infront of how many thousands of people i would have called you insane...thing is...im usually really shy IRL...but some reason not with you guys!

 

busy converting my cousins to listen to mika! they had never heard him but loved him when they heard we are golden on mikasounds! just had to put that in there! much recruting has been done!

I was actually thinknig of PamRam, but have just gone back through some of the old posts to discover who zoidy is.

Still not sure of the exact situation, but have a vague idea from some old info.

Re: Mika coming from USA for the promo gig last time ... I thought he came from there and then went back there ... I dunno, that's just the way I remember it ... could be wrong tho'

I think he came from asia (did Japan and the hongkers) and then flew to us- he may have been in the US before that though?

She's back from the carer's place. He's had 1.5ml of Valium, and he's relaxed a little. (He was going rigid when we took him out) However, Annette (the carer) still thinks that his chances are slim. She thinks the best thing is to make him comfortable, and hope he pulls through. But because of the accident, we don't know if he has internal injuries, or brain damage, and that could be causing him to deteriorate. We're all hoping for a little miracle.

I just did this music survey for Austereo (I get a $50 Westfield voucher as it touch 2hrs,but then also won an instant prize of another $100 voucher ) but although there were HEAPS of songs I needed to rate they included everyone of Meek's songs he has released here (inc WAG)- needless to say those ones scored 100%

I'd probably fail my exams and I'd have to rush over for one or two days, if I could make it at all - a massive waste of money. If he does it post-28th (or post my last exam), then I can stay over east-ways for as many weeks as I want, which would be very nice

I PMed Freddie and Deb about it, and they said they'd heard nothing other than Australia being included in a tour... They promised that they would tell us when they find out something but at this stage they're as in the dark as us...

 

 

Last time we found out a couple of weeks beforehand (I think it was 3 weeks), I hope he gives us more notice this time... I hope David has an understanding boss... otherwise I would suggest he takes off all of November!

 

Seriously though, I noticed that there was a thread about Meeks being in Munich in early September, so it seems to be about 3 weeks... admittedly that is a competition winners only event... I guess the announcement will be made somewhere between 4-6 weeks before the gig...

Yeah, I will definately try and get over again (I have been waiting for the last two years!) and fingers crossed my timing will be impeccable again, but now that I know everyone better hanging out will be fun too!!

My flashing heart is around here somewhere, but order me another one anyway, and I am happy to be involved in whatever is going on.

Did we all get to listen to We are Golden? For Xmas I got a digital/internet radio so for the first time I had some practical use for it listening to Radio 2.

I really enjoyed the song, some parts still sound a bit weird, but I am sure I will get used to them.

What was even funnier was that Michael was in the kitchen cooking dinner and I walked in to hear him singing along to BIOTG I wish I had have video'd it!!

I'm back online .. my nephew had a 41 degree temp and it was because of pneumonia at first and then was told he has glandular fever and needs to get his tonsils out... he was discharged today and is doing better but still sick ... just have to wait to see what happens next ... hope i havent missed much ... xoxox

I swear on the country of Australia that there was no Mika-music played at this event, at least not while any mods were there. There were no journalists there, as far as I could tell, thus no reason to play the new music. It certainly wasn't an event like I imagine these press junket showcases have gone, where the media are invited there specifically to hear the album.

Really guys, I'm sorry so many people think there's a conspiracy happening among mods, because that's just not the case. Basically, I didn't tell MFC because I didn't want to piss off MFCers by appearing to be bragging, and I didn't want to piss off Mika's managers by yammering on the internet about a private event.

 

It certainly wasn't a case of me thinking, "mwahaha, those lowly MFC-peons don't deserve to know sh*t. Suckahs!!!"

 

So again, I say this. Got questions/concerns/gripes about MFC or how it's run? PM me. Add me on MSN. Hell, give me your number and I'll phone you, I've got free long distance to Australia. Now, onto what brought me into this thread.

 

I was listening to British radio, and they referred to the country as "Au -strahl- yuh." And I find most Canadians pronounce it "Au-stray-ill-yuh."

 

So I'm curious - how do real live Aussies pronounce it?

I haven't really gotten into the whole "benefits for mods" debate (and will prob be making illinformed comments here now, but I can understand the points raised above in regards to sometimes having to keep quiet about things that go on. In my dreams I wish I had been asked to hang out with Mika after the Sydney show, and if I had been told not to mention it on here, I prob would have obeyed this request... It would have been hard not to discuss it but I would have tried really hard...

Am hanging out to hear We Are Golden- and I am hoping it gets good airplay here once released. Just today I heard GK on one radio station, and then minutes later BG, so they are definately still supporting him (well, here in Perth anyway!)

Just posting to say I am still around even if I am not posting (except for now when I am actually making the effort to post )
