I wanna know what she would do... to Mika if he really did have his arms tied behind his back?

ZOMG (:naughty:) I am here trying to unwind after a long, hard day at work, and you girls take the thread in this direction. Looks like I will be awake for a while yet......:das:

How are we all tonight? I am here for another 6mins before NCIS starts on foxtel... so get in quick if you want to say something!

  2. Think positive!

He's probably just recovering from the ridiculous questions the Australian media asked him last time he was here.

What, like the one about has he heard the ringtone of his laugh :fisch:

Keep saving!!! I'm trying to save for the move to London, but keep getting distracted by Gucci ballet flats or similar. At least tiger airways have cheap flights from Perth to Melbs now (dodgy, but cheap).

I know, flights in Oz are generally pretty good these days. I have flown tiger and had no dramas (well, besides them sending my pram to Adelaide rather than the Gold Coast from Melbourne....) and I am going to KL next year for $190 return. Score!! That's where all my shopping money needs to be dedicated to!

I'd prefer a red eye flight anyway if flying from Perth to the East coast - sleep on the plane and have all day to sight-see/shop/queue for the gig.

That's what I did, when I checked into my hotel I tried tosleep but that was useless! I should have just come straight down to see you guys. May have seen Luke going in if I had of.....

Oookay, I thought it might be some kind of plane-slang for having to book on the day or something strange like that. Either that or that someone takes photos of you for the whole flight

    :lmfao:

  3. I wonder if a group stalk/The Mikamite Dream Tour of Oz will happen if Mika tours early next year since a bunch of Mikamites will be going overseas for New Year's (therefore blowing a large amount of money) and I may or may not be moving (hence money for a bond, furniture, etc). If so it might be just Melb and Syd Mikamite gatherings? Or a Perth one too if the WA-ians won't be flying over (if he performs there that is as many artists do just the East Coast).

I would love it if Mika came to Perth, but would still def try and get over to Syd or Mel for those shows. I have been trying (unsuccessfully!) to put some money away to pay for airfares, accom, etc. If things keep going the way they have been and I stop spending I will end up with enough to see him in London (okay, I only have about $250 so far so I won't get my hopes up just yet!)

  4. Ooh, it's my dad's birthday on Wednesday (yes, completely unrelated, but we're going to dinner for it so :tongue2:) .. I need to get him something. Oh my god, guess what I have just realised? This is perfect! As I am away over christmas, I could totally make people give me money towards my trip as presents, and then my return presents when I get back would be souvenirs! That is such a win-win! I don't get crappy pointless presents, and I don't have to buy anyone presents (because I'd have had to get the souvenirs anyway :naughty:)

Good idea! Having birthdays or Christmas around the time you go away is always awesome.

Popping in briefly to say hi!

Watched (most of) About A Boy last night on telly, having never seen it before and i kept comparing the boy in it to Mika when he was a kid... Strange clothes, liked to sing... not necessarily a lot in common, and it's possible that a potato sack would remind me of Mika, but anyway...

And I had two Mika dreams last night. And it's not even like I've been on the MFC for the last couple of days!

I like that movie- I watched it ages ago but it was sweet.

My dinner was nice- the restaurant we go to (Han's Cafe, which is like a Vietnamese chain here in WA) is cheap and easy- to feed me, mum and the 2 kids cost me less than $30! I only go out for expensive dinners if work is paying :naughty:

  5. Hello, hello hello!!!

Hopefully my absenses from here will not be as long as they have been this week- I am still trying to recover from my week away from home, and unfortunately my recovering isn't just because of the amount of alcohol I drank (well, not entirely anyway!!:naughty:)

Anything exciting happening? I am taking my mum out for dinner tonight, to say thank you for looking after my rotten children all week!

  6. HEEELLLLOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

wow- I miss this place, but I have been so busy with work it is just crazy! I left home at 8:15 this morning and got back at 10pm- didn't get to eat anything until about 5pm and got stuck making coffees from 7pm til 930 in one of the stores!

I raced back to my hotel to get room service, which had shut, but the nice young manager in the restaurant that I took some franchisees out to last night recognised me and made the chef do something uo for me- he even remembered what drink I was ordering last night- very impressed!

Needless to say I shouldn't be on here cause I have another early start but I had to pop in and find out what was happening- so share some goss!!!!!

  7. :boing: I know you're all getting tired of Mika pictures, so here's another hunk for a change.

    :pbjt:quick - the antidote

    8c2cdjp.jpg

We can never post that Mr Bean photo too many times!!!

Actually, the version on the radio was more like an acoustic version of H & C, in that slower pace that they seemed to do when in concert... Does anyone know if they did an album of acoustic tracks or anything like that? (A bit like James Reyne coming back and redoing Aussie Crawl stuff... where I could actually finally understand the words to some of those songs...!)

Don't know if what you may have heard could have been Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam- I have heard his version on the radio before, here is a link to it off youtube

It feels like forever since I have been on here, between the server being down and being busy with work. I am in Adelaide now, flew in from Darwin late this arvo and have just had drinks with a couple of girls who work in the stores here, lovely evening.

But am very glad I can come and chill out here :thumb_yello:

  8.

It is I reckon, awesome :biggrin2: I hope Mika knows about it :naughty:

    And I agree :bleh:

Guess what? My mum called the police this morning or something, and they called me up trying to contact her, so I gave them her mobile number and when she came home tonight I asked her if she got the call from the police and she was like "What? No? Somone tried to call me while I was in the car, but the reception was really bad with the weather, and I was driving so I just said 'Sorry, I'm driving, and the reception is bad, call back later'" :lmfao: I thought of you, Jolene. Can you believe my mum TOLD the police she was answering her mobile while driving? :lmfao:

Oh, god-could you imagine if a random ticket now turns up in the mail cause they tracked down your mum from her mobile number!! That's hilarious. I am still soooo pissed off about my dumb ticket

And I only just noticed the edit you made when I reread my post!

Oh, I am off to Darwin and then Adelaide on Sunday through to Friday, am hoping to catch some sun in Darwin (my luck they will probably have thunderstorms!) but one thing is for certain- plenty of alcohol will be involved with sveral "work" functions already planned :bleh: It is the only time I get to drink!

  9. Hi everyone!

Oh, and I just remembered this on my photobucket, for you, Jolene :biggrin2::das: :

    perthisnotgross.jpg

No Edit: There's no edit here, what are you talking about?

Hadn't seen that before, but it is soooo true. Not that I go that many concerts (not as many as I want!) but everytime a concert is announced Perth is always on there. Timbaland is coming and only playing Melbourne, Sydney & PERTH! That would be an interesting concert- does he bring One Republic, JT, Nelly, Futardo, Nicole Sherzinger, Madonna and everyone else who actually SINGS on his songs over? Bit like Mark Ronson..... male artist of the year my arse  (although I do like the songs he has produced!)

  10. I actually have a recipe for this but have never tried it. You have to use fresh beetroot (no OKD, they don't automatically come in a can!) and cook them on the stove until pulpy and can be mashed. I don't have anything against the recipe itself, I just cant' be bothered trying it when I have a fabulous Chocolate Fudge Cake recipe that is so easy to make, tastes divine and if you substitue applesauce for the oil, becomes low fat. Actually, I gave the recipe for the Fudge cake to Soy once. Oi! Soy! (sturker:naughty:) Did you ever try the cake recipe?

*looks, shrieks in horror, then faints*

Oh, Jols, you still didn't answer one of MY questions... And I'll be in Perth in October for a wedding, so we have a coffee date! Actually, I don't drink coffee and I would say I'll have an iced chocolate instead (don't drink hot chocolate either) but I've quit chocolate. It's been 5 and a 1/2 days so far....

The cake recipe sounds awesome, would love to see it too!

And we will def hang out in Oct- how could you possibly give up choc though?? I work my arse off at the gym just so I don't have to give up this vice!

Yeah I know. Funny, the first thing we think when we see that news is nothign to do with hearing his music or anything of that sort, it's just TOUR TOUR TOUR - WHEN WILL WE GET A TOUR?? :naughty:

    I haven't! *runs off to whine-spam*

To be honest, I doubt sednign him a petition is going to make him suddenly decide to work hard and give us an immediate fantastic tour. But it's more for ourselves so we can feel like we've done our best, instead of sitting around whining. Just like I go and put up posters for Milo everywhere and go and look for him in obscure places, even though I know that he was most probably run over by a car on day 1, I just wouldn't be able to live with myself if I didn't. And if we make it brilliant, at least it'll be obvious we love him/are fantastic characters, and may put more effort into us (ie: some kind of afterparty? :das: - but ours would be much more successfull :wink2:), nor at least think of us as more than just a foreign market that costs more to tour than it's worth...

Okay, so instead of a petition I vote we do a fundraiser with choccies, or whatever, raise enough money for Mika's airfares (and Luke's!) and then we can pick him up at the airport, bring him to the verandah, so besides airfares there are very few additional expenses.

I think it is very doable....:naughty:

It has been... it was released in the uk new years, and in europe before that... way before that.

And I know this because of the "german porn" I included in DCs secret santa

Madonna has toured Australia once.... in 1993 and hasn't been back once, despite mentioning that she plans to tour Australia....

Kind of like Mika mentioning Aus in the 'places I'll tour in 08' list at the start of the year and going no further than that :wink2:

I went to that madonna concert- kind of glad I did now seeing as we may never see her again!

OMG- I now have 32 children coming to Bailey's birthday party on Fri- I was only expecting 25 max!!! I have had to go and buy extra loot bags etc, and the Hungry Jacks party room only holds 24!!!

Tan, sorry to hear you have had a shiitty time at work- fingers crossed everything will get better!

    Hi to everyone else!!

  11. Can someone please clarify a couple of things for me:

    1. Does my parcel need to leave here by the beginning of June (am a bit confused about the dates)

    2. How much stuff are you expected to put into the parcel (I don't want to be cheap!)

    :thumb_yello::thumb_yello:

  12. I absolutely don't mind . Of course you can, I guess - why not?

    *clears throat*

So I hereby declare you two to be Mika Mail partners! :thumb_yello::naughty:

    LMAO :roftl:

thank you, i'm touched :tears: those are happy tears! :biggrin2:

    Yay! How excitng!! :yay:

*runs frantically to the shops to start purchasing stuff* :naughty:

  13. So to answer your question from my hotseat OkD- no, carrot cake is a no-go- it has CARROTS in it

Although I did once have some sweet potato and ginger cake which was quite nice (more ginger than sweet potato!)

Has anyone had Chocolate Beetroot cake? Apparently it is really nice and moist, I cannot bring myself to try it (not when there are so many other yummy cakes out there to chose from!)

  14. :roftl: that question!! *Worships the redback*

Ok Jols.. I'm sorry I'm late but here we go.

If you could've been the creator of any invention, what would it be?

Have you ever table top danced? :das:

Do you have a fav flower?

and, How many pairs of shoes do you own?

Invention: Something that would have made me squillions of dollars but allowed me to keep my anonymity

Table top- no I don't think so. Bar top- YES!!

Fav flower- not really fussed (I will take any!) but I had gerbras in my wedding bouquet.

Shoes: Way too many! Over the weekend I cleaned out my closet and got rid of about 10 pairs, and still have about 30 or more (yes, it is an obsession and one that I am proud of!!)
