a kind soul sent me the link to this thread and i just wanted to say that i absolutely LOVE the design of my page. it's like so.. me i really really like it. Seeing it made me realize that Mika and some other people will actually at one point read all of this which is, for me, a bit like eeeeek, but seeing how beautiful the page is made it easier for me. everyone will focus on the design instead of what i wrote

oh and btw, i love Day&Age more and more every day. i already wrote a mini essay about it on my blog, i LOVE it. it wouldn't be enough to say it grew on me, it's all over me, it owns me, I AM Day & Age. ok, i'm getting all weird, but i really is a good record

i can't believe i only went to three gigs in 2008. it really seems as if there were so much more.. mika took over that year.. here are my memories:

february 28th:

- the gig itself was AMAZING, the atmosphere was fantastic!

- the afterparty.. well i didn't get the chance to talk to Mika but i did talk to his Mum who was sooo nice.. she had her camera with her, started filming me even though i panicked and tried to hide, i'm camera shy i had some things in mind that i was planning to tell him, things i forgot to tell him when i talked to him in Berlin back in November. she was so kind it made my day and i really didn't regret that much not getting to talk to him. she's so great so looking back, for me personally, the afterparty is not a bad memory..

- singing and dancing before the afterparty, that was so much fun

- being able to tell my friends that London trip was great and in fact i spent the evening drinking champagne with Mika.. they were never supportive of my Mika addiction, especially after i flew to London in Dec and my two gigs got postponed.. they were giving me such a hard time, it was pure pleasure to get my little revange.. i'm a bad person, i know..

Paris gig

- meeting Kam and Iva again and sharing all those moments with them.. i actually really liked that show, even though i'm all for small gigs *hintacoustic tourhint*

- it also was the first time i got to meet more MFCers but i'm terrible with names and faces so i confuse everyone all the time. in Amsterdam i scared violetsky cause i started admiring my Mika@RAH t-shirt which, as i found out AFTER i came back home, was designed by a different violetsky.. she was so clueless why i kept repeating that i love my t-shirt so much.. i also confused kath with cath85.. well, i guess i just need a lot more time...

- watching the dvd was also a fun eve, kam iva and i literally fell of the couch when we saw ourselves

- watching the dvd again with my family when i came home for Christmas. i made them watch it and actually they liked it so much they volunteered to watch the first one with me!

Amsterdam

- gig! it was amazing!

- waiting in the queue was nice. i can even say it was fun, and it means a lot cause i HATE waiting.. when i have to wait for a bus i'd rather just walk. hate waiting, hate it. but Amsterdam was nice

- meet&greet, very succesful for me cause for the very first time i almost managed to say what i meant to say. i almost didn't forget anything like i usually do.. i think that if it wasn't for him holding my hand and being as nice as always, i'd manage to say everything. i blame mika

- our flight to Poland got delayed so the 4 of us spent like 6 hours on the airport, singing mika songs, eating lollipop after lollipop and playing volleyball. it was great..

and there are of course those not gig-related moments that brought so much joy to my life:

- mikamail, so much fun to buy loads of useless things with my sisters. they were running around screaming 'this is mikaish, this is mikaish! this is not but it's nice, we're taking it!'

- stalking a car for miles just cause it had a huge 'MIKA' sign on it. i wanted to take a pic but the guy noticed we were following him and started taking all those little streets. i think we scared him so we gave up. i still regret..

- hearing my sisters using all the Mika-talk.. like when they buy something and go on repeating 'so what do you think, you like my dress? is it nice? nice? is it nice?'.. i love them..

- getting all sorts of gifts just cause they're colorful or Mikaish in a way. my sister even brought me a plastic bag she was given in a grocery in Thailand cause it reminded her of Mika

things like that keep on coming to me now but it's all so boring. omg.. i think it officially is my longest post here..

let me just say, 2008 was brilliant but i sense that 2009 will be more ridiculous, more fun, more crazy, more colorful, just MORE.. can't wait!

22 months ago i discovered Mika, it took me three months more to find MFC but well, life will never be the same again. sounds silly but it's so true..

happy birthday MFC!

can't wait to see what 2009 brings us!

It doesn't seem like two years but on the other hand, I can barely remember life before MFC...........was there one?

i can see a change of attitude here. some time ago i got myself a ticket to Buble's gig in Berlin but couldn't go cause of an exam of sth. so then i watched some vids from that night and there he was, singing parts of GK and making fun of Mika. not in a nice way. and people loved it.

but i see now that he's starting to accept his Mika addiction. good for him. he still seems a bit embarassed, but i think it'll pass. you go girl!

I've been looking forward to hearing Joyride ever since I saw the title. Sometimes it happens that I see the song's title and can't wait to listen to it, just cause I love the title. Am I making sense? lol..

the song is weird, it didn't sound much like the killers to me at first. the video is weird, dunno if it'll help the song. brandon's new style is ridiculous.

I wish I could help, but I bought the maximum allowed, 4 and I need them all as they are for me, my hubby and 2 friends who asked me to get them if I could .

 

I also went on the sites before 10 and was ready to go, and kept refreshing everything. I guess that I was just very lucky.

Initially I was trying to get standing tix, but I quickly thought that it was probably not such a great idea as they seemed to be impossible to get to, and changed to seated, and for sheer fluke I got some. Then I tried again later just in case someone who I knew would need some, and didn't manage anything else. Then they said that they were sold out. Bummer.

I was trying on seetickets, and ticketmaster.

 

Today I saw on seetickets that one of the dates still has some, it's not in London but maybe you could travel?

I was feeling optimistic and tried to buy standing ones. That's my mistake.

Given it a thought, I've decided to buy tix to a different city. Unfortunately my sunday beauty sleep got in a way, they're all sold out...

It says that Nottingham is still available but it changes to sold out when you try to buy the tickets.

Thinking about it, I have heard people say that ticketmaster usually saves some of the best tickets until the day before/day of the shows. If all else fails, I'd try to buy the tickets then and see if you can get some.

There's some time left so I guess I'll save some money and hopefully I'll manage to get a ticket to at least one show, this way or another. Fingers crossed

i tried megaupload some time ago and got an email from mfcmag that the links didn't work.

it's as if some unknown force was trying to stop me from taking part in this...

I can't contain my happiness- The tickets for the February shows in London sold out in minutes (all 31,00 of them!! ) and I managed to get some before they sold out!!!

 

Can't wait. I also managed to get my hands on some Depeche Mode tix for May (they are only doing one date in London and it also sold out in less than half an hour)

I also wanted to buy tix for both of the London gigs. I was on the site half an hour before the sale started. Around 15 min to 10 i started refreshing it like a maniac. I had all the needed data copied to Word just to copy and paste At ten I clicked 'Order', put all the needed info with the speed of the light and still, it was too late

I've no idea how you managed to buy them, you're very very lucky to have those tickets.

Unfortunately my despair turned me into a moron. i went to tk forum and saw someone recommending a site called paperticket.co.uk. i ordered tickets there and today i found out they're a scam. If the payment cannot be cancelled I probably lost lots of money..

It's a bit annoying, I moved to UK less than two weeks ago. It's just to try it, new place, new opportunities. I always hated having to travel abroad to see all my fav musicians. Now i won't see them at all. Isn't it ironic? It's like raaaain on your wedding day

THAT would be great. i've been trying to send some vids for weeks actually and they always return. dunno why. i tried a different email address and nothing's changed. i even tried sending them from a different country i live in the UK now.. and still mission not accomplished.

i've got them uploaded on yt already so it'd make things much easier. if it's possible of course.

because the first deadline is so close and also in 4 hours i'm moving to another country, i won't be able to do this part of the project. i'm terribly sorry.

I agree Agnieszka, I feel exactly the same . It is majorly unfair, because I'm sure that the fans there will not be necessarily the biggest ones, but just the richest ones.

Personally, I don't think that it's worthwile paying that amount to see ANYONE. I don't care how good the band or artist is, it's just a waste of money and I also find it kind of inmoral...I guess that what I'm trying to say is that, even though I can't really afford that price, I could buy it, but I don't think that it's right.

 

Also, if even just out of principle, I don't want to make one of these disgusting touts any richer . Gosh I am so mad, grrrrr....

same here. a moment ago i was actually offered one ticket as a very early chritmas gift and i said no partly because even when shared by 2 people, it's still a lot of money but mainly because i just looked at ebay people and couldn't imagine giving them that money.

God, if/when Mika plays at RAH sth like that just cannot happen.

I simply can't spend over 200-300 £ on this if I want to pay my rent.. It's ridiculous, they cost like 35 if I'm correct. They sold out in 1 minute and now they're all over the net.

I know it sounds silly but it's just so UNFAIR. Ughhhh, can't get over it, I was sooo excited about this one. I've only seen them twice, first wasn't even a gig, just a support act, second was 1,5 year ago. It's sad that Mika would become more popular in USA thanks to Katy Perry. He is on the stage much before her,and now she,who popped out several months ago,has to give publicity to him? Bleh

I don't get what's wrong with that? It'd be sad if they wrote "That's Katy Perry and some guy". And she's been around for some time, the last record is not her first, though it's the first one she released as Katy Perry.
