  1. Hello :biggrin2:

RL has been very busy for me since Sunday so this is my first visit to MFC.

Great to read all the reports and see the pics. Will catch up on the vids when I can. Thanks to everyone for sharing :huglove:

This was the first Mika tour that I have had to wait until the very last gig to see the show and it was driving me nuts. But it was fantastic.

So great to see so many old faces... But was sad to miss some too.

Thanks so much to Deb for organising the meet up... It was great.

Thanks also to everyone who organised the fan actions - they were very successful.

Thanks to Marilyn for the badges... Very kind of you. :huglove:

I loved the gig. Abby and I were in row C dress circle ( thanks Theresa for the tickets which turned out to be great ;)) Melody had a very tall person in Front of her and so did I, Mika's brother! Although he swapped seats and was then in front of Abby. Yes, the rest of the family were in a box to the side of the stage.

It was a pleasure to make the badges. It made me feel like I was a part of it all.

  2. I loved the review and adored the comments on the site. Yes, the UK needs to embrace Mika again. I hope he books more UK venues for more gigs. I'm convinced he can still weave his magic spell on our lonely little islands and be loved in the UK, not the same dizzy way as he was before, but in a more golden and lasting way, as a complete artist and musician.

I would have commented, but I don't have facebook.

  3. IT WORKED <3

It looked nice! I am sure he smiled a lot after he saw this on TAY. I had so much fun. :D Running around fans and giving away props was a tad stressful though. c:

I have some in my home now, gonna put them on my wall, as a memoir! <3 They're amazing.

YES! Everybody loved them! I have one too - also an amazing memoir. They were so glittery!

Yes I hoped that people would keep them. Maybe wear them to other Mika gigs. I made one for myself that I hope I'll have chance to wear some day, if he does some more UK gigs.

  4. The fan fiction thing isn't new at all. On programes like Star Trek there used to be what they called "Slash Fiction" involving, for instance, Kirk / Spock. Mostly it was gay, because, as mentioned, girls don't like their idols with other girls, but some stories were straight, if it was a couple that the fans were hoping would get together, like Captain Janeway / Chakotay.

But these were harmless because they were about the characters and the characters aren't real.

I actually wrote some fan-fiction based on Star Trek Deep Space Nine and Voyager. Most of what I wrote was to do with all kinds of relationships between the characters, and they weren't gay stories (because that's not my thing) when I did write about romance, then it was romantic and not sexy. The couple I always wanted to get together were Seven of Nine and The Holographic Doctor, from Voyager, but they never did get together unfortunately.

As I say, it isn't real. But for people to write explicit stuff about Mika, especially pairing him with someone he isn't even involved with, especially when he's in a committed relationship elsewhere, is a disgraceful thing to do.

They need to realise he is a human being, not a character in a TV show.

  5. Well he got it wrong about this part

'Expect the record label to once again focus on releasing singles that tickle the fancy of his devout UK fan base.'

Firstly about actually releasing anything, only TAY, and tickling the UK fanbases fancy, I think most of us are still berating the record company about not releasing Promisland!

    I agree with you!

The review is great but the record company always release the wrong songs as singles. Promiseland is awesome.

  6. I've read the spoiler. This is nothing new really. What you speak of happens to many famous people. The best way for Mika to deal with it is to ignore it. However, X Factor Italy should not allow such things on their sites. If they see something like what is written about in the spoiler, they should take it down and delete anything on the twitter feed about Mika, or anyone else.

As for the mocking of Mika's Italian, I don't think he would be getting upset about it. He probably knows his Italian isn't perfect, but he does his best. It's the tweeters who are showing themselves up by making such a fuss.

    That's my opinion anyway.

  7. Hello,

Guys, I am really sorry for my absence. I was putting this duty away and away and couple of weeks ago, my life became very complicated, I had to struggle with a lot of stress, and my situation was not sorted out until yesterday - and this is when I realised, how late it is with the action!

I do apologize, I feel terrible and childlish, because I know I should've taken responsibility ages ago - I just got overwhelmed by everything. :)

If the banners are banned, I was wondering, if we should find just one object, very symbolic, like the stars, but something new. Something which will just unite the fans and what they will be able to bring along easily.

I was thinking - maybe artificial flowers? You can find them in pound land, for example.

But do you think it is possible still to bring the buildings and the other pieces of cityscape if they'll be the size of A4? A3 is not very big either.

I hope you'll still bring my badges to give out as I worked very hard on them. Are you still giving him the book with the artwork in?

  8. X Factor Uk didn't start off well this year, seems to be really going down in popularity so I suppose he had to weigh the pros and cons. It's a very tough industry! His career is fascinating, he started off so well in UK. Maybe too well? A professional photographer gave me a fascinating insight into the workforce culture in UK, apparently they are not supportive of success.

I am just glad he's doing well in Italy and France, they like and respect his talent!

I was recently in Paris at the FNAC store at Gare Nord and I was so impressed that the staff spent at least 10 mins looking for OOL French Ed! The computer said they had stock but alas, none could be found. I eventually found it in Bordeaux  :thumb_yello:

You are right about the UK not supporting success. I think it was like that for Mika, it was that he got too big, too quickly. It seemed he came out of nowhere and a lot of the media did not like it. But I'm sure he still has fans here so it would be good if he tried to get back on top. Maybe in a different way, because pop music has moved on now. That ship has sailed without Mika, so he needs a different boat to sail to the UK in. Maybe he could shoot those promised music documentaries, or if he, maybe, records something classical, instead of pop, he could be a king in another music genre.

I just don't want Mika to give up on us in the UK. His fans really miss him.

XFUK isn't doing well. You are right about that. Anyway, I hope he has some plan in mind for the UK.

  9. I am sure he would love to do more work in UK but I think that could have meant having to "conform" to the record labels. He's  smart guy and the solution to be independent meant going into TV. His Italian gamble has paid off big time!

I totally agree that his gamble has paid off in Italy, and to some extent, also in France. So why not try a UK project to gain popularity in the UK? UK have TV shows as well.

  10. You're right. That's weird because he is "popular" (many interviews, tv show...)

Moreover, the sales of his album are very down...

Well he's made his choice apparently. He's doing The Voice again. I suppose we can kiss goodbye to the hope for any more UK gigs while he's stuck, first in Italy, then France.
