  1. I don't think Simon has had anything to say about Mika, but Simon rejected him, that's bad enough, expecially from someone who has no talent of his own, except the ability to roll his eyes (we can all do that though) But like I said before, it was a good thing in a way that Simon didn't sign him up. Mika's uniqueness and his genius would have been stifled by Simon, and he woiuldn't be the Mika we have today.

  2. I think it's on this evening at 7.00 pm on ITV2

It's me again, Marilyn. When I started this thread I didn't notice someone had already started one. Appologies for that! I'm new to forums and to computers really, so I get a bit confused. Never mind. I'd appreciate any advice about things like private messages and how to go about it, etc. I hope to make lots of Mikatastic friends and have a Mikaterriffic time, even though I am 53 years old. Anyway, Mika rules forever, and Simon Sucks forever!! Love today from Marilyn

  3. Last evening I was watching the X Factor auditions, because I love a good slice of Car Crash TV.

That's a bit unfair of me, though, because sometimes they sing okay, and now they are beginning to choose their audition songs with care. A young auditionee (Ididn't catch his name) sang Grace Kelly as his audition piece. He did well too (obviously not as good as we have heard it sung) but he sang in tune, and he got through! But I was also really pleased that the young auditionee, sung Mika's hit song in in front of Simon Cowell.

Simon Cowell has, in the past, has rejected, TAKE THAT, THE SPICE GIRLS, and... are you ready for this one guys... MIKA!!!!!!!!! His shins are probably black-and-blue from where he has been kicking himself for months, and I bet he's rially p****d off that he is not part of the new Mikamania that is sweeping the nation. However, I for one am glad that that control freak with delusions of godhood, didn't get his hands on the career of our Mika. Mika had a lucky escape.

But since I found out Cowell had rejected Mika, I can no longer take Simon Cowell seriously. The guy wouldn't recognise talent if it bit him onn the butt.

    Oh... it already has!

  4. Its more likely that if she talks enough there will be a settlement before these things go to court.

Personally... I think I'd rather if Mika did change his name rather than give her money. After all, that and free publicity is what she is after (and, really is what we are giving her, even if it is negative publicity, by constantly posting on here, are we not?)

The problem with copyrght law is, it would work in Mika's favour if someone was trying to steal his work, but this just plain sucks! I've been racking my brains, but if our maestro called himself Mika Penniman, she couldn't do anything about it. WE... of course would still call him Mika, and the only time he would get Penniman, would be on the record labels, and other such official stuff. I actually don't thind he needs to change his given name to c, instead of k. From Marilyn

  5. MIKA faces a blow to his bid for pop supremecy - from a Belgian female raggae artist with the same name.

The other Mika is threatening to sue our rising new superstar for allegedly nicking her moniker.

She claims she registered it in the 1980's.

And she wants her London-based rival to either change his name or pay the damages.

Despite having released five albums the Belgian Mika isn't exactly a household name - even in her own country.

But she insisted "I was called Mika before him and have registered the name. Even though his real name is Mica, I think he should change it."

    ATTACK

A source close to the, erm, star said "She's not happy. There's only enough room for one Mika in the popworld - and she was here first."

Reggae Mika has hardly set the charts alight.

She released debut single MLK in 1989 but it attracted little attention. If you want to to buy it you can get it from her website for £2. (LMFAO sorry but that so made me laugh hard!)

Her subsequent releases haven't done much better.

In contrast our Mika burst onto the Pop scene in January with no.1 single Grace Kelly.

Just eight months later his debut album, Life In Cartoon Motion, has sold more than three million copies worldwide, including more than 900, 000 in the UK, making it triple platinum.

The album has hit No.1 in a dozen-plus countries, from across Europe to the Far East.

He is the biggest new artist in Europe and the biggest selling UK act in the world this year after Amy Winehouse.

His private life makes for pretty amazing reading too.

Mika's family were forced to leave war-torn Lebanon to Paris before moving to London when he was a child.

So I don't think he'll be losing too much sleep over this latest attack.

But it could end up costing him a bit of money since his real name is spelt slightly differently. (EVEN THOUGH BELGIUM WOMAN'S REAL NAME IS SOPHIE!)

Last night his manager was not available to comment. In the past, acts have been forced to cough up to keep a disputed name or have had to change it - including Liberty X, who were originally called Liberty.

Sounds to me like this other Mika is trying to take liberty too.

So. Proof. It's all for publicity and money, she's even made UK papers now!

If she has been around since the 80s and hasn't yet made her mark yet, then she isn't going to now!! All she wants is fame!! She can't seriously think we can't tell the difference between a hot, sexy, multi-talented maestro, and a 'never-was-famous, silly old idiot, with delusions far above her station. She must be nuts. I hope to God that the one-and-only Mika does not have to change the name he's worked so hard to make famous! SOPHIE can get lost!!

  6. Mika has won Live Best Male at the Vodaphone Live Awards at Earls Court this evening.

Unfortunately he wasn't there to collect it, but he he said thank you from a camper van.

Yes... I saw the show. I did not even know he had been nominated for anything. I went on Channel 4's site to try and find out beforehand, but I couldn't find anything. Thank God I watched the show!!! Every Mika fan who has woken up this morning, will really LOVE TODAY!!!

Mika is going to have to purchase some heavy-duty shelving units very soon!!

    Love today, from Marilyn

  7. In Paris during the show at the OLYMPIA the concert was record. At the end of the show I was interviewed for the bonus! The DVD will be sale in NOVEMBER!!!!!!!:mf_lustslow::mf_rosetinted::bleh::thumb_yello::biggrin2::roftl:

  8. Not sure if this has been posted anywhere else, apologies if it has did a quick search but couldn't find any mention.

The BT Digital Music Awards are now open for voting and there are two categories that we will all need to vote in.

    1. Mika is nominated for Best Pop Artist

    2. The People's Choice Award

"This award is for anyone who has created a music site or blog, meaning that, much like you lot, the entries will range from the big and glamourous to the small but perfectly formed."

So we can all vote for this site - and win an award for sunny monkey :punk:

Against the People's award - it also states "or if you have your own entry, you can nominate it here. We'll give you a nice shiny official voting button to put on your site or blog and then it's up to you to get your users to vote for you before voting closes on September 30th. Get voting now!"

So could one of the admin folk sort out getting a voting button put on this site - so we can all vote for it as best unofficial Music Site more easily?

Oh yeah, nearly forgot - you do the voting at www.btdma.com

Also forgot - you are allowed to vote everyday up to 30 September ... so please can we all vote everyday?!!

Hi there! I didn't know about the Peoples' Choice Award, but I've been voting for days, for Mika, in the other catagory. You have to put your email address, and can only vote once every 24 hours... no matter, my family have given me permission to use theirs as well, so he gets lots of votes!! Crafty hey? All's fair in love and Mika!! From Marilyn

  9. Hello, I'm Marilyn, I'm new to the fan club. I've just been on the Nickalodeon site and voted for our lovely young Maestro. Thanks for the link to the site. I've also been voting in the European MTV awards, and the Digital Music Awards. He deserves to win all the honours going! Love from Marilyn

  10. Hello everyone. I'm a bit nervous, because I'm not used to websites. I don;t even know how to put pictures on computer, however, I'm probably doing you all a favour, by not putting on a picture of me!

It was a couple of months ago. When I was at the shops I started hearing this amazing falsetto voice. I wondered, was it 'Sissor Sistors', or that other band 'The Darkness', but then I thought... "No... This guy is MUCH better than any of them!! At first, I could not find out who he was, being a bit of an 'old dear', I wasn't up to date with the new stuff. I've always tended to like sixties and seventies music. Music from my youth.

Then I discovered, from an advert on TV, that his name is Mika, and the song that had caught my attention was, LOVE TODAY. I decided to by his album to hear what else he had recorded, and I was totally blown away!!!!

But it was when I finally saw him performing, that I gave myself up to fanship. He is absolutely amazing, and has brought the fun back into pop music. I think he is the best performer ever, and in interviews, he comes accross as a real gentleman, but one with a lot of spirit. He reminds me of the stars of the old days, like Abba and Queen, but he's also fresh and new and what the industry really needs. Long may this amazing man, who has Dyslexia yet can write the most amazing songs, continue to be an example to us all, of someone who can overcome difficulties that would confound most people, and become this fantastic singer/songwriter with the five octave voice!

Mika is fantastic. I am proud to be his fan.

Love to all the other fans, from Marilyn
