Yes, I just checked again. The only catagory still open is 'New Sounds of Europe, which is open until the last day while they eliminate the acts with the least votes. No matter what happens fans, we've all done an awesome thing here. Mika is a new artist and his fan base is also new, and yet we managed to get him to the nomination stage, possibly even the winner, that is amazing!! We also get to see him perform at the event, as does the rest of the world, and then let's see who can still resist him after that performance!

We've all done great! By the way, someone posted on another thread that Happy Endings was number 5, but it's actually number 12, but that's okay too, there's been a lot of competition in the charts from artists who were promoted better than Mika. Mika is doning very will and will continue to do even better, so we have a lot to look forward to, even if he doesn't win these awards.

ARGHHHH!! I can't vote anymore. I can get to the site and look at the "info" and each artist, but there is no more "vote" next to the "info" for each person. I've tried different countries and different categories but it is all the same...I can't vote. Can other people still vote?

No, I can't vote either. It's the middle of the night and I didn't sleep well, and I didn't dream of Mika as I'd hoped. I just lay there listening to Alan snoring (doesn't real life really suck) Maybe the voting is closed now. We all did our best. I'll go back to the sites later, in case the no voting thing is just temporary, for now, but I suspect they might have closed the votes. I didn't think they were closing them so early though.

Maybe you've heard,

 

Mika had a performance, where he did his song lollipop. Before the song started, there were 4 people dressed like bears who danced. Later they started to make sexual movements, this you can watch on youtube.

Mika says that he thought it would be funny, that they were thinking about a choreography and that this was what they came with.

 

I actually thought it was pretty funny, but what's your opinion?

Oh my God! That's a miracle!!! When you consider all the hype that Leona, Take That, and Mc Fly have been given in the British media. After the EMAs, when Mika has performed, maybe all those who are as yet unaware of his awsomeness, will download his single. But even if he doesn't get any higher, it's amazing what he's done when he's up against the kinds of publicity machines that those others have.

I was just on mtv.ca looking up the EMA's and they had a song for each catagory, so I'm wondering are those the winners? Like for best solo they had Girl Friend playing and for most addictive track it was Rehab? Did they win?? And will the EMAs only be playing online, or will they be on TV too?

I've been looking around the british site. There is just news about the ones getting knocked out of New Sounds Of Europe (there are no British ones in that now, although I did bung a few votes, The Klaxons, way) so Mika is probably the only British (by adoption) star performing. I bet he'll knock em dead. But I didn't see anything to indicate they are already promoting the ones they think will win in Mika's catagories. They announce that he will be performing so, all being well, the vote should be fair. I hope so anyway

What is EMAca, is it Canada? Avril Levine is Canadian, maybe that is why they are showing her. Maybe they are showing different videos from the catagories every day. We probabley need to keep an eye out. The voting isn't supposed to stop until the 1st, so they should not know the winner yet, unless Mika is streets ahead, which we hope he is! In which case it should be HIS video they are playing. I hope this is a fair fight, and the results arn't fixed!!!

Hi Marilyn,

I just voted 1140 times for Mika for the EMA!!! Yeah. During the week I usually vote a minimum of 760 times per day, on the week-end, especially this week-end I am going for over 3000 votes. WHY? Coz Mika keeps singing that song to me...."how much do you love me, how much do you care?" I guess I care enough to be a voting machine. It is noon here and I am going to take a break. My plan is three sessions of voting today and another three tomorrow, at 1000 plus votes per session. We can do this, right?? Thanks for the challenge.

MIKA at MTV Europe Music Awards

As you will be no doubt aware, Mika has been nominated for the Solo Artist of 2007 and Most Addictive Track awards at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards.

 

The show premieres at 9pm GMT this Thursday, 1 November on MTV ONE and MIKA will be performing at the show.

 

Your efforts to get MIKA to the final shortlist have been legendary and we now hope that you will tune in to watch him perform and, hopefully, win.

People, we need to be voting at the very least 500 times per day. Remember he has stiff competition from longer established artists, like Christina A and Justin T. He's also upo against Amy Winehouse in the Addictive Track. We KNOW Mika deserves to beat everyone there, but they all have fans who are just as passionate as we are. So we need to keep voting and even strive to break our own records. Mika isn't going to walk this. We can't start thinking that he'll win... just because he's Mika! Please vote, and get your family onto it as well. My husband votes while I do the housework

Well done! I think we all need to break our own records. I even have my husband voting when I'm doing the housework. If we go down the multi-link page once. I think it's about 190 votes in each catagory. If we go down it twice, it's almost 500 votes. But it needs to be at least that many, possibly more. We've got the likes of Justin T in one catagory, and Amy Winehouse in the other. We can't get complacent and think that Mika is going to walk it, because he isn't. It's up to us to bring him to victory and it isn't going to be easy.

I'vew just come back on, because I was reading the new thread about Mika's appearance at the EMAs, and someone posted that Christina's fans are voting at least 100 times per day. I think we have to realise that we are up against fans just as loyal as we are. We have to out-vote them! We need to aim for at least 500 votes each. At least that many. I had to laugh! I saw some calenders in a shop. You know the kind, hunks and stuff. I had to laugh, because Mika has destroyed them, and now they have new names from me.
