  1. Bless Ezra

southeast you should do sth like this too if you meet VM!!! :roftl:

(oh btw how can i call you in a better way?? it sounds a bit awkward now:aah:)

Oh, cool, didn't know that! And you know what: they play at the same venue three weeks apart here. So I can first go to VW and say: Hey, guys, if you have a message for MGMT just give it to me, I'll pass it over to Andrew and Ben...:naughty::blink: Somehow I like posh guys, or at least such that have visited posh schools: Mika, MGMT, VW... Oh, damn, I seem to be a snob! :roftl:

YO! good on you :naughty: actually i ain't sure if they are GOOD friends. (after all, andrew wants bad karma on VM :teehee: ) but i did see them appearing on mag interview together before and they mention each other quite often!

and by posh what do you mean??

i just very often like to think that mika and mgmt share some weird dressing styles :mf_rosetinted:

  2. California is a great location for live music. I'm happy I ended up here. All thanks to my dad's job moving us here.

But anyway...yes, you want to avoid the whole post-gig depression (which is the absolute worst)...it's so hard to fix that. We'll be here for you though.:thumb_yello:

And go the VW gig anyways. Why not?:naughty:

yeah musicians would only consider touring Asia when they are big enough in the US/Europe. why do i love foreign music all the time???

VW & MGMT are good friends. i guess this adds one more reason for you to go to their gig apart from great lives? :mf_rosetinted:

  3. I love that :

    And of course:

    46. That they care.

    47. That they don't care.

OMG :boxed: By that time I will be ANCIENT!!! I'll probably still find them kinda cute though :teehee:. In fact I know I will

i think we can continue the list down to 100...200....300..... :naughty:

we're all obsessed with their lyrics here aren't we??? :mf_lustslow:

hahaha you will be cute too don't worry dear:teehee:

"They were intelligent, engaging, respectful, humorous and quirky......" :tears: Why weren't it meeeeee in this bar! Life is so unfair!

Ehm.....what do you think those two were doing there in the dark? Drugs? I am afraid I am too naive for this world.

thanks for the link vanessa!!! but what? andrew approached them in the bar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrr :sneaky2:

actually if i were one of these lucky people, i'd probably have lost my ability to speak already when i saw them :aah:

and drugs? i guess so........... 2 young men wouldn't have other things to do in a dark carpark esp. we all know they are not on the bent side:mf_rosetinted:

  4. Oh, that's cool!

I really don't have a clue what they'll do next! Very misterious guys. In the moment I just hope they are going to do a next album AT ALL!:teehee:

Yeah, but I think they are not that honest in that point: I have the feeling that they do have very good reasons for the music they do and really do lots of "thinking" about it, but for some reason they don't want pple to really know what they think and just enjoy the music. Perhaps it's like some sort of self-defence? You know like: "We don't want pple to REALLY know what we think and feel?" I don't mean that negative, I just think they are too gentle and sensitive to show all of it to the fans & want to keep some things private. I'm ok with that. One rare moment was I think in this brilliant interview that's also on UTube, where Andrew says: "That's what I think. I think love's the answer." I found that really moving, 'cause I had the feeling he really means it and it is his deepest conviction. What a sweet "hippie" thing to say & think. :-)

Yeah, I mean they said they hate Bono and he does lots of charity, so I don't think they'll do something like that. :teehee:

But in the 2nd Q TV interview Andrew said something about them hoping to have "a long and fruitful music career", so I wouldn't worry that much about them disappearing soon! :biggrin2:

i know what you mean! and i'm kind of this type of person too-- or put it this way, i think everyone has the moments at which you wanna keep something just to yourself. and from a musician's point of view, having people study your works seriously is always something great coz it means you really have some influence over the others.

andrew looks like an angel in that interview!!! that vid is so beautifully filmed. the shots and the environment were simply perfect. love always remains... the sun and the ocean are always there :blush-anim-cl:

suddenly i tryna picture what they'll be like when they become middle-aged men... :aah:

  5. have you guys seen this before??? :biggrin2:

    45. All I need is a great big congratulations

    :mf_lustslow:

  6. You could go alone. I don't see why not. I'd rather go alone and love it than go with someone who doesn't care and ruins the mood.

I totally agree. Yes, we all know that they like to dabble in certain substances. But who cares? Really? If it helps them make the amazing music they do, then let it be. People who leave comments like that are just immature. You're right, they understand real humour. And oh my Andrew's lyrics...sometimes I get them, sometimes I don't...but even when I don't, they're still so beautiful. I listen to the crap they play on the radio sometimes and it doesn't even come remotely close to the stuff that Andrew and Ben write. I have so much respect for them.

yep you're right!!! i really hope i can go to their gig now:wub2:

hahaha sometimes i THINK i get the lyrics but maybe actually i don't :naughty: their lyrics are comprehensible when you read the lines seperately... but when the lines come together as a song, i don't think many people on earth know what they're actually refering to.

anyway, i always think i'm over-interpreting their stuffs coz they like to complain people for being too serious don't they?? :teehee:

Sometimes I am afraid, they will soon say they find that whole music business boring as well, cause they are moving too fast through all those stages (rockandroll, experiments with drugs, being stoned, a hipster...stage after all that, getting more mature, writing more mature music....stage after that???). Other musicians never get out of the first stage. But those guys are too smart and fast for that, so I really fear they'll write one or two more albums and then....go over to producing, getting invisible...doing some obscure charity stuff...we will never hear anything from them again...

I am going to bed, otherwise I'll get totaly depressed. GN

i still can't associate them with charify stuffs at the moment :aah: but well, i know they are generous good guys! :naughty:

but again you are right... they really have moved on fast, both music- and personality-wise. if you watch their interviews you can they're much less childish than before (i know this sounds silly but they look like real men now :roftl: )

oh btw did andrew say his castle dream is no longer here now????!! this upset me a little bit...............

Ooh that's a good find! Thanks.

I bet their old college gigs were so funny. I love the videos on Youtube of some of them..the dinosaur mask etc..they really make me laugh.

Totally agree with you all, he is a really great lyricist. He can write story lyrics (TTP), funny lyrics (Brian Eno) and obscure or "lyrical" lyrics (Metanoia/SB) and seems equally at ease with any of those styles. I especially love the way you can find your own interpretation of some of his words, Siberian Breaks for example. And even when the lyrics sometimes tip over into nonsense or deliberate ironic weirdness (Metanoia springs to mind ), they still sound great.

I'm so glad someone else has this fear too! It always feels to me as if they might suddenly decide to quit music through boredom, and I can never put my finger on why I feel that way, but you've expressed it well: they are moving quite quickly through different styles and stages, like a speeded up version of a rock group's history, or so it seems.

    I hope we're wrong

actually some of their old college performance are really.... crappy :aah: this kinda proves what we have said about their great evolvement though.

as for the quiting part, i totally share your worreis!!!!!! that's why i'm so so so eager to go to their gig!!! who knows when the next time will be??? :crybaby:

and just read the Wesleyan interview again....

JL: Do you think that money and fame are corrupting the music industry?

BG: No, I think that money and fame are what allow the music industry to thrive.

AV: I think that money is the music industry.

JL: Is that the way that it should be?

AV: If you're trying to industrialize music.

BG: Yeah, I mean, money is the root of all evil, but it's also the root of creativity because most creativity is a reaction to how commercialized music is becoming.

AV: For a while me and Beno wanted to see if we could get immensely popular and then completely destroy our popularity and go back to college student level, but I don't think that's possible. Once we got all the money, we'd go get blow jobs and ride up to concerts on horses. [both laugh] And we wouldn't want to leave that life behind. And once we finished, you know, building the zoo in Russia. And put in a lot of animals…in cages…that's just ****ing wrong. [laughs]

BG: Yeah, what happens is you spend all that time collecting animals and then you treat them like property and you forget that they have feelings, too. [laughs]

jesusssss andrew's echoing us!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :boxed: hope as grown-ups they've given up this thought now.... :tears:

but i really love Beno's answer on money and fame. it's true!

  7. Yes, I am going on the 7th of Dec. :boing:

About coming to see them: why not? They have several gigs in Europe in December, don't they?

so yeah... i'll probably go see them in Spain/Portugal :wub2:

but i actually don't know any MGMT fans apart from you guys here... so, is going to a MGMT gig alone a good idea?? :boxed:

That's really interesting to see what they had to say before they became famous.

I would have loved to have seen the shows where they push each other off barrels :lmfao:

But seriously, they are really quite witty. A lot of people don't see that. Another fun/maddenening thing was that I lived less than ONE hour away from that school WHILE they went there. Too bad I was only 11 years old, otherwise I could have seen those shows...

    they really are!!! :mf_rosetinted:

it sometimes annoys me a little when i still see a lot of drug-related comments under thier vids on youtube. i mean, yes, most probably they still take drugs but they are seriously more than a bunch of druggies fooling around. when people say "OMG this makes me laugh so hard. they must be stoned", i'll go "come on, one doesn't need to be stoned to be interesting. these guys know what real humour is."

and andrew's lyrics is amazing. he's such a good lyricist :blush-anim-cl:

Wow! But I don't think they would have let you in there if you were only 11 at the time anyway? :dunno:

Hey, girls do you follow @VEVOaskreply on Twitter? They are going to show MGMT answering questions from fand in a few days.

I also asked a question, but I can't watch Vevo in Germany, damn it :aah:, so I hope someone will put the whole thing on Youtube soon after they show it. :naughty:

yup i've been waiting for that vid for ages!!!!!! :aah:

  8. Less than four weeks now until I see MGMT :woot_jump:

(I might be going to see Violens too on 1st October.:biggrin2:)

As for the Congratulations video...yes it's very strange and moving. I always get the impression their videos are based on weird dreams they've had. The creature in the video, and the whole video actually, looks just like the kind of strange dream I often have. :naughty:

    it's SURREALISM :teehee:

    The_Persistence_of_Memory.jpg

I was born and raised in Bulgaria and lived there till I was 19 and then came to study to Germany and stayed here. :-)

Yeah, sleeping bag....it's nothing for me, cause I sleep in such strange positions....I get claustrophobic when I have to sleep in one.

I like your interpretation of Congratulations. It seems somehow "logical" to me... Or perhaps they are refering to their "old way of life" before getting famous? I like the vid more and more, it's moving and dreamy. And it is unobtrusive but impressive at the same time. And very gentle. Yeah, I like it. It's just like with their music: you have to watch it few times but then it grows on you. :wink2:

oh i see! and you said you are going to their German gig in December right??

actually i'm going to be an exchange student in France in January and my coming semester in HK is gonna end on 30 Nov... now i'm tempted BADLY to get on the plane earlier in December to see one of those MGMT European gigs!!!!!!!!!!! :fangurl:

awwwww this idea is killing me :sneaky2:

  9. Hey, here in Europe it is still the 25., but anyway: Happy Birthday to you!!!! :yay: All the best and have a blast and a fun day! And I am very interested what do you think about that vid.

Yeah, camping....I was at a three day party in a small wooden house with other 50-60 pple with one toilet . The house was real small so we had to camp outside. It was really fun, pple danced till 4 o'clock but it was very cold and then hot in that tent and I hated that "sock" in which I had to sleep, I dunno how do call that in English?

Anyways, I am going to London for the next 4 days. :biggrin2: Will be here again on Monday. See ya. :

thank you!! and i hope you had a wonderful trip as well!! :biggrin2: (btw may i ask where you are from?? it isn't shown under your name :aah:)

and "sock"... i guess you were refering to a "sleeping bag"? dunno if i'm right though :teehee:

as for the Congratulations vid, to be frank i was a bit disappointed when i FIRST saw it. it's not filled up with a lot of creative stuffs like FD or It's Working-- seemingly it's not as fun as those.

but then when i watched it for the second time, i realised how beautiful the whole thing actually is! and i love how you can still find a trace of freakiness in such a beautiful vid :naughty: and i agree with you... the vid is different from what i have been imagining ever since i heard the song. i NEVER have this kind of sad feeling when i listen to it!! on the contrary the scenes in my mind are all lovely peaceful... esp for the lines "i lay down the quilt upon the lawn...." and i think this's good coz it really offers something that is not in the song and adds to the atmosphere :blush-anim-cl:

i've been pondering over the meaning of this vid for a while. perhaps the creature represents their "old good music" like Kids & Time To Pretend?? they love these songs like they care about the dying camel. but in the end they just let it go and DISSOLVE. they applause for what they've achieved with this old goodies and they are ready for a new off-mainstream journey :wub2:

    okay i' know i'm over-interpreting this :mf_rosetinted:

  10. Oh, I just saw it on utube through tumblr. (Don't ask me how that worked, don't have any idea! :dunno:) It is really sad and beautifully filmed.

But I am not sure I want that film associated in my mind with the song. I just have a quite different picture in my head.... It is somehow with a favorite book: you know how the pple in it look like and then they make a film about it and the actors look quite differently and you're disappointed. Well I am not disappointed seeing Andrew and Ben, but...what can they mean with it? *scratching my head*

no worries hun, i know what u mean!:naughty: that's why i always refuse to watch film/tv drama adapted from books i love!!

but well, i still hvn't watched this Congratulations vid... :teehee:

:bye: Hey, hello, how are you? How was camping? I slept in a tent few weeks ago and it was not very comfy. :teehee:

Thanks for the pics. :wub2: I don't know where they are from, but Vanessa sure does! :thumb_yello:

    When is your birthday?

camping was fun!!!! but sleep deprivation made me look like **** now :mf_rosetinted: you slept in a tent?? ohhhh were you camping also?? :aah:

half an hour later!!!! 26th Aug :boing:

I don't know where those photos are from and I'm afraid there weren't posted on the official mgmt forum except for the picture where they are sleeping :naughty:

Here is a Japanese? or Chinese? interview

    http://www.honeyee.com/feature/2010/mgmt_cornelius/contents.html

i'm still not on the forum.. every info comes from tumblr :naughty:

it's a Japanese interview!! whoaaaa love the pics!!! thank you for posting!!

  11. :bye: guys!! have been away for a week 'cause i went camping!!! but no worries, i think i manage to catch up all MGMT news :naughty:

and i think you need THESE also??? :teehee:

    1.jpg

    2-2.jpg

    3-2.jpg

    4-1.jpg

    5-2.jpg

but i don't know what mag they are from!! anyone knows?? i wanna get a copy... it's just beyond adorable jesussssss :wub2:

and i'm now pretending the link of the Congratulations vid is not working for me 'cause my birthday's coming!! i wanna watch it on that day so that Andy, Beno, James, Will and Matt all will send me the best bday gift :mf_rosetinted:

  12. jesus now i go to mfc ONLY to visit this thread!! and i'm so glad that you guys are here... coz at the moment MGMT are on my mind almost every single minute i've got to loose my fangirlish mind a bit here :wub2:

and just you know, i never talk in that official forum :aah:

Ohhh, I am sorry about that! They sure will come to Hong Kong too soon. I know how it feels, because I come from Bulgaria and noone ever goes for gigs there. Now I live in Munich and am really happy that so many musicians I like come here.

I am going on the 7th of December here in Munich. They have some more gigs in Vienna and Berlin as well, but I am going only to this one. I sure will have fun! Wonder how the crowd will be, sure not the same as at Mika gigs... Perhaps younger, harder, higher ....

NO, i'm pretty sure they will never come! perhaps the only place in Asia that they'd visit is Japan... most people around me hasn't heard of them...

wow have fun!! & try to meet them before/after the show!!!! yeah, mika isn't psychedelich, is he? :naughty:

I had a dream last night that I was a dancer on stage for MGMT and was hanging out with Andrew after the gig.

I'm so excited about the gig I'm going to next month now. I wasn't going to, but I think I may now have to wait around afterwards and try to meet them.

you should go!!!!! and maybe you can go earlier too if you wanna meet them!

awwwww i dream of them A LOT these days, which makes me pretty crazy. the other night i dreamt that i touched Andrew's hair and we were holding hands :swoon: then Will found us out and i was embarrassed! so i told him, "oh Will, your beard looks great today!" :roftl:

and the night before there was some sort of massacre in Bendrew's school. they were hiding from the murderer and it's coz of this they started to write songs:teehee: weird dream.

Ben always seems the serious guy in the band and Andrew the naughtiest one .I would have liked to have a brother like him though

    Andrew can I borrow your t-shirt ?

    http://www.musiqueplus.com/objectif-coulisses/videos/mgmt-en-entrevue

    And 20 minutes of sweetness

    http://www.memberslounge.com.au/#/surprisegig/mgmtlive/

And I love your siggie did you write it ?

thanks for the links!!! gonna check them out later!!!

Yes, they can write so different kinds of music. And it's all sooo good.

They really can write those "hit"-style kind of songs like Kids and Electric Feel, Love always remains is like that too, if they want to. But they don't want to write songs like that at the moment. That's what I find so cool about them, they just do what they want and don't think: "Oh, we have to write another OS album to get better sales."

i do think they have grown up... not cranky college kids anymore (while still being cranky in their own way) i always enjoy seeing them mock at their own songs like "most nights i find myself thinking, 'why did i write that stupid song abt an electric eel and sing falsetto over it?'"

but to be frank, i ain't good at distinguishing between mainstream and less-commercial music. i mean, i always can't understand why people do not like mika or Congratulations! to me they are just good musics! i just can't get that :boxed:

I also believe they'll be around for a long time, with a dedicated fanbase. It may have been a risk releasing a less commercial second album, in one sense, but I think it has been exactly the right thing to do in the long term. They are much more suited (personality-wise) to a cult-status rather than a rockstar status, don't you think? When Andrew sings I hope I die before I get sold, you actually believe him. Well I do! And that's one more reason I LOVE this band

I never ever want them to sell out. I'd rather they split up . but hopefully that won't happen at least not for a while .

split up is more like the case actually. the other day i saw people saying things like "i hope MGMT will never split up" when i was completely in love with them. then i just found my heart arch a little bit.... had never thought abt this but in fact there's always a quite high possibility for people who have strong personalities.

well, i think i overreact. they are good brothers and everytime i see that kind of brotherhood exemplified in interviews or pics, i know why sometimes a band possess some magical pull that individual musician cannot get access to :blush-anim-cl:

Yes, I get exactly what you mean! I still am not quite sure how crazy they really are. I mean, they have done drugs and all this rockstar stuff but I somehow have the feeling they are much more than that. In the last interviews they seem to be over that and much more serious. So I really think you're right, they don't want to shock pple or use some cheap effects. They make their kind of music, they try out things and different lifestyles , they evolve in the direction they want to and just don't care what pple/critics say or expect. And if they do go on like that, they will be a cult band soon. I am so exited about their 3rd album! :boing: I know its way too early about it, but still...

I don't think they'll sell out. I just hope the two of them don't start quarreling at some point...

well you remind me that i didn't like them at first 'cause they seemed to be druggies all the time esp around 2007 and i'm not into this :roftl:

If they play SB when I go to see them next month...I think I might actually cry at that part

I'm too much in love with this band at the moment

i know what you mean :wub2:

and i think i will just get my eyes teary if they start playing Metanoia in front of me! awwwww

  13.

    Butt verification

This is why I love these guys! Their sense of humour is spot-on, or at least, it matches my own :naughty:.

i literally think you cannot explain to people how interesting & humorous MGMT are unless they really watch the interviews themselves :wub2:

At last I uploaded the EP and I am like.....

    I love all of them....

But atm I think my faves are Boogie Down and Indie Rokkers....I can't stop listening!

And now I know where all those "strange" quotes on the forums come from...like "line between belly and tights" and "touching my hand" :teehee:

They are really amazing. I hope they just go on and on writing and recording....

And I am going to a gig in December! :boing: Can't wait.

WE LOVE YOU IN GLACIAL WAYSSSS!!!!!!! :mf_lustslow:

    http://www3.timeoutny.com/newyork/thevolume/2010/08/mgmt-dishes-on-the-making-of-congratulations/

new interview on their musical influences!

"You know when we know we have a song that we like is when we’re on the floor laughing about a part of it. Like, the flute solo or something like that in that song, we like being ridiculous, and I think that’s lost on a lot of people, or they think we’re coming from this super-serious angle, and that’s too bad, really. But I think a lot of people do get it and get that side of it, and I think that’s really important."

awwwww.. and i'm addicted to re-watching this old old vid :wub2:

  15. Hi! :bye: And haha, thanks for Glitter Penis. One of the songs's called Sausage Pants! :roftl:

And one question: what are those MGMC sites on tumbler? Do you mean MGMT? Can you post a link? Do they write there sometime? Because they aren't on Twitter like some other people.

So there are two MGMT forums? Damn! I don't really have time for so many forums...and Twitter....and Facebook...

I remember Andrew once said, "I don't think you can be a hippie & have a facebook page. I don't have a facebook page, so I'm a hippie." which is one of my fav quotes of his!! I guess twitter/tumblr is even more NOT hippie?? :roftl:

    http://****yeahmgmt.tumblr.com/

Type the f-word for those **** :naughty:

This is the one I go to most. They girls update like 5-10 times a day, pretty crazy:mf_rosetinted: And if you click the links there you can find even more tumblrs related to MGMT... and well, including other fansites like MIKA's & twitter & facebook, this is basically how I spend my time every day.

    Yes there are 2 forums.

The one i posted on the previous page is the unofficial one and http://mgmtforum.com/index.php is the official one

Btw you can download the 2 albums by Glitter penis here :wink2:

    http://www.glitterpenis.com/emailsignup.php

The guy who offers the downloads says he played keyboard for glitter penis? I've never heard of him, only knew there's a Dan...

I must say that I think C.R.U.M.Z. In My Lap is a modern masterpiece. What POETRY. :lmfao::naughty:

    The end is............ :aah:

"glitter penis. two thouuuuuuusand!" >>> opera sounding music

i was like  ???!?!!!!!!!!!! then :lmao:

  16. :bye: all!! I haven't been on MFC much these days coz i'm kind of drown on tumblrs, the MGMC ones. Really dangerous sites :teehee:

Tonight I finally heard the Glitter Panis production for my first time :aah: This is so country, I wonder what Andrew would think about that when he listens to it again now. (The end is still weird though, haha)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgugy9PNT2k

And damn it, they were in Fuji Rock!!! Somehow I just think they'd never tour other parts of Asia except Japan

Vanessa: thank you for the forum link!!! I never know another forum except that official one, which always looks so messy & disorganised! :mf_rosetinted:

  17. Looks like someone's been at the curling iron again

I just wish he'd leave his hair all alone. It looks gorgeous when it's kinda flopping at gigs, and when he's not "done it up"

On second thoughts, in these pics he looks A LOT like a guy that I went out with, years ago. Maybe that is why I don't like this hair on him, it reminds me of that one, LOL.

oh yeah.... i hope those big curls will show up again in Lebanon :mf_rosetinted:

I'm back home. I'm sorry to have not seen you .

    see you someday~~:biggrin2:

were you holding a MFC banner at the plaza that day??? awwww it's a shame that we didn't meet!! but still, i hope you had fun at the gig :thumb_yello:

btw i wonder if these pics taken by DJ Lai have been posted yet??? sorry if they have:blink:

    thanks Hilary!!!

    MIKA LIVE IN HONG KONG

    IMAGINARIUM TOUR 2010

    A $380 ticket

    A $580 seat

    A PRICELESS SHOW

Im not feeling well these days

I didn't twant to enjoy the concert with a running nose

Luckily it was alright during the gig

remember that i also got a running nose on mayday's jump concert

however i got well soon after the begining of the concert

so that's the power of concerts?

anyway, i arrived there at 8:00

the venue's environment was better than i thought

and what surprized me was the brand new stage!

It was much more gorgeous(?) than the last gig with trees and a big cartoon face in the middle

at that moment i knew that it would be a concert which was totally different from the one before

We soon found our seats at the first row in green zone

    the arrangement was: stage>Zone Blue/Red $750/$580>Zone Yellow $580>Zone Green $380

actually i was happy with my seat as it was already the front row of the lowest rank

we returned to our seats after buying the tee for this tour

when i was just wondering why the whole block in front of us was still reminded empty

a staff came and told us: We now offer you a seat in row I in the front

    ?????!!!!!!!!!!

i hv heard similer arrangement before on mayday's concert a fews years ago

but i hv never thought that this would be happened on me!

We were not just moving for a few rows nearier to the stage

We moved for about a WHOLE BLOCK

yes we were than sitting in the yellow zone costing $580

the gig soon started at 8:30 which is much earier than the last gig

a girl asked her friend sit next to her: stand...?

than i immediately stood up before her friend answered her

    yayyyyyyy everyone was STANDING!!!

i was worrying about this issue before as the last gig ppl sat until the song rain

but this time!!!! all the ppl inthe hall stood and shouted and got crazy from the beginning till the end

    Great.

i would never rmb a rundown of a concert

however the feeling of each song i listened in the concert would be always in my mind

    so here we go

    - relax(take it easy) was the first song and it made everyone gone crazy just at the beginning of the concert

    - stuck in the middle/big girl(you are beautiful)... got interactions with fans

    - blame it in the girls's clap clap clap was fun

    - love that big balloon(?) foot during of big girl(you are beautiful)

    - also love the big banner of Billy brown

    - Billy brown's brother(i thought they were) Dr. John was here

    - rain was still the song making ppl crazy

    - Good gone girl! love this song which was missing from the last gig

    - Touches you/We are golden/love today jump jump and jump

    - blues eyes, simply love this song

    - over my shoulder...how could a fifteen years old boy wrote such a beautiful sad song?

    - happy ending made me cry in the last gig and it touched me again this time

could not rmb during which song, mika shot his band and finally himself also(cute!)

he just laid there. dead. ...and talked...and woke up...and sang!

    funny and cute

could not rmb(again) after which song, mika and his band retured to the back stage

we kept clapping and stepping and shouting MIKA(and i did not understand that why some ppl were leaving)

then here came the first encore!

it was grace kelly and lollipop just like the last gig

love those interactions between mika and fans

and the stage got a wonderful new background at that time!

    Mika said goodbye afterthat

we shouted encore! encore! and not decided to leave as we were all waiting for the 2nd encore

actually i was not expecting Mika would come on stage again for the 2nd encore

however it was only 10:00 and i was not hurrying for the last train so why didn't i stay!

finally it really got a 2nd encore!!

and the most important thing was that the song which mika was going to sing is

    MY INTEPRETATION!!!

My favourate song! it did not appear on the last gig and finally i could listen to it this time

    following by Any other world

that was so touching and i loved the moment when all of us was singing "Say Goodbye, to the world you thought you live in"

and that was really the time that we needed to say goodbye to mika and his band

i enjoy the dancing of mika's band at the end which brought us a real happy ending

some bit and bites were not mentioned as i was not remembering them well

but one point i would never forgot

Mika spoke cantonese!!! with accurate pronunciation!!!(better than Mayday)

he was so cute when introducing his band with "我既guiter"、"我既bass"...

can't wait for the next concert!

thank you for your report, mayday fan :roftl:

i exactly feel the same about the songs... got goosebumps a lot and my eyes went moisty at times, so silly :aah:

    HI everyoneee!!!

    It's me, Michelle from Canada!

Here is my report that was requested, I'm not sure if I am allowed to post private names and I dont' know if I even have all the names right buttt!!!! PLEASE PLEASE correct me if you would like your display name posted instead!! So here it goes...and just to note, this is modified from the report intended for my family so sorry if it gets choppy at parts.

So there was the MIKA tofu event at the Hollywood plaza.. it was supposed to start at 12;30 but it didn't start until 2 ish, but basically, since I joined the forum, I knew that there was goign to be a group of girls at the event and they mentioned that they were going to be holding a banner. Sooo I got to the place and the entire stage area and seating area was blocked off so I thought it was for special people or the people who were in line first! so since i was at the end i was curious to see where the fan club people were since the leader mentioned that she wanted to be there at 10;30, i got there around 12:ish which is considered pretty late since mika's supposed to come out at 1:30, so i was really shy and nervous to talk to the girls but after 10 minutes of moving back and forth and contemplating i finally reached out and asked one of the girls (cindy!!) that had formed a mini-circle near the "front" of the line up. turns out they're all really super nice and ready to talk to me, so i got to know A LOT of new friends!! (I LOVE ALL YOU MFCers) :D i got numbers and emails and facebooks and omg omg omg!!! so since I was by myself AND from Canada AND an english speaker I really appreciate how all of you girls accepted me into your crew! You're probably the most hard core hong kong mika fans anyone would ever find!! With the leaders' amazing expertise and devotion we were ushered into the seated area of the event!

the host brought mika out and he seemed really shy and not wanting to be there.. very akward probably tired... and the lady host said she would play some "games" .... she asked the dummest questions for the quiz and we as fans were so embarrassed

    1. When is the concert?....today >.>

    2. Which stop is his last stop of his asian tour?..... HONG KONG

    3. How much money do you need to spend at the mall to get free stickers? .... $300 (she had justttt told us) >.>

    4. Which company made the tofu figurines? ... Devil Robots.. (she had just told us...)

    5. Where is today's event taking place? ---At THE HOLLYWOOD PLAZA....

    WHAT IS THIS POO???

    soo embarassing

they had a "drawing contest" and it was between 2 MFC ers and mika was like i think there aren't losers they both deserve a prize!! as in the grand prize but the host was like no no you have to pick one....

So a hug was called for <3

    later on....

soooo the event was done and blah blahblah they have these tofu things on display for the rest of the month blah blahblah OKAY.

and after that it was really cool cause we had gotten stickers on our arms and look all awesome, and as we were "escorting" mika out (more like crowding and chasing him...) a reporter from the south china post asked us what we liked about mika and i was just like babbling what came to mind haha along with a couple other MFCers haha.

    >.< so i will look to see if she quotes us in the paper!!

nd thennn i got to meet more MFC ers and we took pictures together with this HK dj guy which was cool cause his outfit was pretty wicked ( and we saw him again as we were leaving the concert venue)

OKAY so i got a whole bunch of numbers and decided to get back to tsuen wan ( my gramma's place which is 30 minutes away from the mall and another 45 minutes away from the concert venue) and change out of my outfit for a skirt with pockets (good for camera carrying) and into flats so i got back to grama's around 3:20 ish and i showered, changed, charged phone AND ate dinner in 40 minutes! and i was out of the door again by 4, to meet the MFC girls at wan chai's deli france which is right next to the convention centre, i get there and phone winnie to take me to the meeting place which is actually really easily seen from the bridge. :) i was super impressed by SUI who made a stamp for mika (she is amazing)! She designed a mika stamp on the computer and got someone to make it into a wax seal!! so its super super cooL! so a group of MFCers were trying to melt wax in the restaurant in order to give him the present which was the seal itself with a whole bunch of wax sticks. such a good idea!!

and so it was quite hilarious to see a bunch of girls crowding around a table with 2 defunct lighters trying to melt wax haha. we tried to ask the staff if they had lighters but they didn't so ended up going to 7/11 to get another one which was SO MCUH AWESOMEr! cause it worked like magic and we were all satisfied.

hmm then since it was around 5:30 we decided we should go to the venue and we went and took the elevator up to the fifth floor but it turns out that they weren't ready for us!! haha so we were shooed down back to the third floor at around 6 ish!!

Luckily for us, no one else decided to show up 2 hours early so we immediately bought our tofus and cds! The venue was so empty!! O.O

After we had bought our things we started to line up (sit on the floor) in front of the correct enterance and the extreamly devoted MFCers (i bow down to you girls) began wrapping and sorting presents. sooo out of the 7 who wanted to be lollipop girls, 5 of us were chosen Lollipop girls

unfortunately sui was left out so as fellow MFCers we were all sad and trying to figure out how to get her in but it didnt happen they said i wasn't big enough to be a big girl and if only we had spoken up earlier!! but maria was a tad bit scary to approach near the beginning...

and so we followed this lady maria back stage and she let us put down our stuffs and taught us how to do this march... and also told us that we'd dance near the end for the song lollipop! and so the other four MFC ers that got in with me were the lollipop girls and they choose 5 "big girls" (supposed to be chubbier but its really hard to find fat people in hk lol so one of the girls had already done it before ... but the other 4 really weren't that big LOL) maria was like why are there no big girls? you're all so small and i'm like LOL CAUSE ITS HK!! EVERYONES STICK PEOPLE!! (which is totally true.. everyone in canada is obese compared to you girlies)

and so yeah they also picekd 4 other people that were in line at the same time we got there to be "toy boys" so since i guess the stage is smaller at this venue they picked less people around 14/15 than the expected 20.

so the 4 mfc'ers got to wear these poofy poofy pink dresses and the big girls changed into these really scanty out fits haha and me and the toy boys didn't change. i took pictures ;D so you can see after.

then maria let us out to watch the first part of the show! (we're involved in the later part)

    so it was amazing!!

MIKA was soo good live! even though everyone's been saying how hes tired and stuff but once he got on stage it was really really good! we were all jumping and dancing and singing the lyrics so it was a really good crowd! i think the seats were basically all sold out!

and lucky me, i had gotten in touch with two girls julia and catherine (also MFCers) (CORRECT IF I"M WRONG!!) and knew they were in 2 rows in front of me with about a 1 metre hallway thing in between since i'm first row second section and they're back part of first section, they invited me over to their side!! :) they didnt come early in fact they showed up at 8!! haha so i managed to jump up almost 2 metres and instead of dancing by my lonesome got to hang out with 2 of the coolest chicks!! love you all!! and your daikan!

the venue is really good because the floor is slanted a bit so that i was really able to see over everyone's head... or maybe cause everyone in HK is so much smaller... haha but anyways it was really really good, I was standing right from the beginnign and screaming and dancing and i'm pretty sure everyone around was also having a good time. The song rain came on about 7 songs in so that was my cue to go backstage.

So backstage i got to put on the "bride" outfit which is this giant wedding dress lol and i led the march across the stage. it was pretty cool, i was worried i would trip but i practised walking with my legs far apart so i didn't have any problems. :) the lolipop MFC girls followed and then the big girls and then the toy boys who carried a giant ragdoll over their heads. LOL

then we spent the rest of the concert backstage and sang along with all the songs and jumped up and down even tho mika couldn't really see us. but we were really loud and the sound crew on stage were waving and encouraging us to sing. lol it was a lot of fun and we got to see what it was like backstage and peak out at the crowd.

there was this couple that took pictures of use through the curtain crack and it was really funny lol.

it was super super hot tho i think i sweated A LOT since i drank a milk tea right before and dind't even have to go to the bathroom as often as i usually do.. !! O.O amazing haha.

after another probably 5 songs, i got a mask put on and we were to go back on stage and dance to the last song which was lollipop. it was a lot of fun! we danced and then mika grabbed my shoulders and the other girl next to him and we all held hands and bowed. then he sang an encore and we took our masks off and dnaced haha!! oh and i realized after i got off stage that i got a bunny mask lol!! ♥

after that, we got off stage and he sang a few more songs slower ones and us girls backstage sang all the lyrics and clapped and danced and so they let us back on stage for the finale when the band members lead the crowd and joked around on stage. so we were told to just follow them and go crazy!! which we did!! it was so much funnn

and did i hear wrong or did he do kick ass again?? I'm so happy he sang all the songs i wanted to hear!!

aparently, according to Cindy (the first MFCer i met... luv u!) correct me if i am wrong) in japan and all the other tour spots they only had the lollipop girls on stage twice but we went on three times!! she thinks its because we were so enthusiastic. :) and so it was soo much funn!!!!!

:D most memorable moment was when we were all jumping and screaming the lyrics to we are golden backstage!!

even though we didn't get to actually see much of the second part, we were still able to enjoy the music and interact a bit with the staff who were all super nice! (turns out the lady who dressed me was mika's mom!! O.O) and the lady who dressed the MFC lollipop girls was his sister!!! (shes' so pretty!! )

after that, we got changed out of the clohtes which were like SUPER HOT since mine was floor lenght and made of bigillion layers of crinoline, underskirt and BEADED overshirt dress thing. omg soo hot and i had to wear a veil so my neck was soo sweaty! i had to hold it and wrap it around my head to cool off!! lol and then after i had to lift up the dress cause it was just too too hot. >.<

but our enthusiasm for all the songs really paid off!!

maria collected our tickets after and we got water bottles and when we got our tickets back we found out they were signed by mika!! ♥ and we got to each take individual pictures with him!! ♥

    yay yay!!

i'm going to get it emailed to me in a few days!! hahaaa we all looked like poop cause we were covered in sweat and our hair was like plastered to our faces but it didn't matter cause mika was the same! haha ;p but he's super tall up close!! O.O and really skinny!!

and then afterwards the girls wanted to give him presents by stalking him at the parking lot and so i went with them to the exit and on the way there we ran into the dj in the elevator haha! it was quite a coincidence! and he recognized us lol and was really really impressed wiht how we not only managed to get close at the event, but also go on stage at the concert!! haha

so we waited for about 15 minutes at the parking lot by then it was 10 ish and turns out he left already!! but no problemos, i met more people, took more pictures and signed the banner that they passed onto his staff. a truck with the staff passed by adn we managed to talk to the staff about our problem and i asked if we could give him the prezzies to pass on and he said he can give it to someone who can give it to mika so even though we didn't get to see him again ( i don't mind so much since i already have mika overload lol) they passed on the presents and we were all good! :) then everyone slowly left and soo a small group of us left togheter and chatted about the concert and how they want to meet him at the airport tomorrow morning at like 6 !! haha and i'm like NO THANKSS i've had my fill ;p

they saw him in november too ... i am humbled by your devotion

anyways, we stopped by a macdonalds, and we got a midnight snack cause it was literlly 15 minutes to closing time (12) thanks for teaching me chinese ping! haha and then we split up and hui kings took the subway back to tsuen wan with me. cause she just so happens to live there! and she is pretty amazing

yup and i got home at 1;15 which is quite a bit later than i had anticipated but it was well worth it!!

i wish that i could have seen the second part of the show cause from the report i read before mine it seemed really interesting!! >.<

I am also looking to see if any pictures of the lollipop girls were taken since i didn't get to see what we looked like onstage!! much appreciated if you could send one my way!!

<3 and once again i'd like to thank ALL of you MFCers for taking me in and making that night into THE best experience I've ever had in my ENTIRE life!!

I couldn't keep up with other Asian gig thread much becuz I just finished my final term exams today... oh it was really hard to study after that amazing moments with Mika from tomorrow I'll read all. EVERY SINGLE POST

the balloon is.....yes someone gave it to the tour manager john before the gig. and I think tour staff handed out Mika after the gig. and he liked that really much. Many fans were inside the venue and Mika came out to see the game after taking shower, having dinner , M&G so on. He watched the first half at the arena with fans. obviously many fans couldn't watch the game, but watched Mika watching the game :naughty:

hope to see you in Seoul next tour.... at that time I can tour whole Asia too...I'll graduate school soon so the damn exams can't stop me stalking Mika in Every Asia gig !! :aah:
