Love! Pet Shop Boys are playing tonight in Oakland and I can't go!

They had 2 shows in Oakland, the 1st was on Saturday and I've been so bummed since then after seeing pictures from people who went! But, wow, tickets were more expensive than I thought they would be! sorry needed to share my PSB sadness.

I heard the actual radio interview. (and recorded it like hella ghetto on my phone). He talked about popular song meaning, judging in xfactor, and about the different languages he speaks. Nothing too different. But it was nice hearing him on radio over here, even if it was radio Disney and I had to put up with ridiculous songs inbetween mika segments.

*phew*!

I got out of work at 5pm and thought I was going to miss the beginning but yay, now I'm early!

(I just want to articulate once more how wonderful a thing it is to be a Mika fan, especially a Mika fan who gets to experience this tour, especially seeing this show three times. The intimacy of being serenaded without a microphone, without inhibition, is an incomparable event, and how GRATEFUL I AM that he shares this side of his talent with us cannot be expressed!)

I 100% feel you on this. I've been feeling this this whole tour. After my shows and after hearing about the recent shows! I feel so lucky to have him share his songs with us the way he has been this tour.

These last few shows have sounded magical. Mika did the end of happy ending with no mic in SF and I almost passed out. I can't imagine how I'd handle a whole song.

Except am I the only one who gets annoyed that he uses the censored version of the beginning lines? "It is what it is now I'm popular-ish" Instead of...well you know. I find it horribly obnoxious. I know they did it on the AG version, but it just sounds silly. And he doesn't censor the rest of it. :rolls_eyes: (The "trying to make me feel bad" line)

Yea, I'm with you. When I 1st saw it live on this tour, this actually made me incrediby angry for like 5 seconds. I wanted to hit him. Haha

 

And it truly was the face of a god. If I didn’t know it before tonight sealed it. Tonight was the concert of my dreams. It was truly the best thing that has ever come to pass. I can’t articulate how lucky I feel to have that Mika shares this side of himself with us, and that I’ll get to share it again and again on Friday and Saturday.

 

Ok, I need to go wash the sweat and tears off myself.

I don't really have a review that matters anymore since the show was a few days ago so I'll just post pix. I will include the full pix of of ones you guys already have because instagram cropped them.

When Max and Curtis came out i gave them some beads I got the night before saying they needed to 'SHINE in Vegas".

Anyways the show was great! I loved it! But like Nina said the crowd was kinda "eh".

Mika never put on the Easter ears so there wouldn't be pix. =\ he just mentioned then a lot l. That max and Curtis pic, the reason i posted it even though its crappy is because I gave then some beads to wear. No big deal but I thought it was cute. They took them off when they came out with Mika though.

But I had a blast and it was great hanging with Nina again! And I also saw an LA polka dot choir buddy there! It was great to see her since I couldn't go to the LA show.

I'll post more/again when I get home. I hate using my iPhone for forums!

Mika was finally back in San Francisco! I am going to attempt a little "report". Im not good at it!

I've been home for 2 hours now. But im finally able to like calm down, eat a veggie dog and chat. Instead of just spamming instagram like i was.

I got there at 6pm and said hi to Nina and Koolj5 (julia?) who were in front. The line was a pretty good size by this time so me and my sister went to the back.

They soon seperated the dinner line and general admission line. I called earlier to see if i could go on the floor with a dinner ticket (reserved balcony tables) and they gave me the green light. So i used my dinner ticket, got in 1st and went on in the main hall. It was hilarious. I was alone on the floor for what seemed like forever. I even had time to go to the bathroom.

8pm Max and Curtis are....doing something.

And here comes the crappy part of my review

Talkin about Mika. I cant because it was so good and different. I didn't go to any of the SFS shows so this whole setup is 100% new for me when it comes to Mika.

So i'll just talk about highlights i remember:

Mika dedicated Love you When Im Drunk to somegirl in the crowd he was like hella bantering with and like even put her name in the song. Hilarious.

Popular was my favorite! It is so good with this arrangement! So much funnnn!

Happy Ending was magical. I don't even want to talk about it for those who are still going to see him this tour because...DAMN.

He played OLM, Century Man, and Hia Leah.

I was directly in front of his mic so my neck hurts from looking up at him when he wasnt at the piano. Thats a good thing i guess.

Im sure i'll remember more clearly tomorrow. I have a massive Mika headache! >.<

Ummmmmmmm. After the show, the other girls were going to wait to meet Mika. (Looks like they did) But my sis wasn't down. So we just left. But thats okay. The show was amazing

enough and im so excited to see him on Friday!

Vegas is way too fake and ridiculous for me. I mean I don't mind it but I would not go to the middle of the Nevada desert to look at a fake Eiffel Tower.

Haha. I'm opposite. I love fake and ridiculous! Thats why i love Vegas! From fake New York buildings to fake boobies! Its knows me. Fake, cheesy, flashy, glittery and filthy is my air. You look up at the casinos and its glamour but then you look at the ground and see a million ads for girls. It's beautiful to me.

I'm so excited about this show/trip that I kept forgetting im also seeing Mika in SF and thats my home turf! I feel bad!
