  1. That's great for you! :yay:

Would you believe I have never been to Las Vegas? I keep thinking that I really ought to go there, but it never seems to happen... And I guess it won't for this show, either. That's right before Easter, no way I can sneak off for that.

Hope you all have a fantastic time!

    What am I saying?

It's MIKA, of COURSE you will! :naughty:

I forgot about Easter. I havent even gotten the days off work yet. :aah: I work in a bakery and it is SUPER hard to get a Saturday off, let alone the Friday and Saturday before Easter!!!! But whatevz. :pinkbow: Its my spring break and I already bought some sequin pants....so i'm going no matter what! :mf_rosetinted:

I don't think I've been to Vegas since I was 21 either but that was 23 years ago it really was forever ago :naughty:

It's such a cheap package for me to come from Toronto but it's just not going to work out this time. Have fun!!

Yea I was surprised with how cheap packages were for us staying on the strip. I convinced my brother to go, and now his boyfriend is coming. So we are all sharing a hotel room which makes it a lot cheaper for each of us....even if it it makes it awkward. :naughty::teehee:

  2. Thanks for your explanation, it was very helpful! I hope the area will be okay. Every hotel review I've read describes it very unpleasant, but it always depends on expectations, I guess.

I bought only a GA ticket. I thought the dinner ticket means only table/maybe balcony. Do you think it's for front of stage too?

Yea, dinner is reserved table seating on the balcony. Which sounded appealing for what this show sounds like it would be. I'm most likely going to be doing floor though.

Oh and fyi, there's no real barricade at this venue. It's just a barricade made of tables pushed against the stage if anything. So im kinda hoping for no

"barriacde" bc that crap looks uncomfortable! Hahaha:aah:

  3. This venue looks very nice indeed! But google tells me the area is nor safe. I'm already a bit worried. Every hotel near the venue looks almost, hm, dangerous :aah: Is it safe to walk around the area alone after the show to find a taxi?

From my experience its not too bad around the venue. I'm not an expert on the tenderloin and have only been to GAMH once...but I mean every city at night can be a little shady and it seemed pretty normal. Eh, I'm not much help

I bought a dinner ticket in todays sale becasue Im not sure what i want to do yet!

So now i have 2 tickets, both GA and Dinner. :teehee:

Also i went back and tried to buy another ticket just to how sales were doing and it says no match! sold out?

So excited for Mika back in SF!! :rainbow: As amazing as it was going to see him in LA last year, nothing is better than a home show!!!!

  4. yes yes yes!!!!

i need help though. sorry i have been so inactive, life has been crazy. i need to know if i will have to be logged into mikasounds to get tickets, and how do i log on there now???! i only see the option of logging on with other social media...

and - i hope there won't be seats!!!

I dont think you'd have to be logged in to MS . They are giving the link on facebook, so its probably a separate site.

I know, i hope its not seats! I saw Patrick Wolf there last year, seated, and it was so f*cked. Even though we got their early and it was general admission seating, we weren't allowed to sit in the front bc we didn't have the right tickets but no one even knew that! it was stupid. Not my thaaaaaang.

oh AND the waitresses walked around/infront of the stage the entire time!!!!!

  5. Best. News. Ever! Now to decide if I drive to Utah for the show before Denver or not.... or maybe San Fran.

So very, very excited to see Mika again. Gets the Silly String ready...:))

Also: stripped down band - means not full band. Maybe just 3 people, maybe just two.

    YES SARA!! Come to SF!

I am so excited! Im definitely doing SF. But im hella interested in Las Vegas (becasue its Vegas:mf_rosetinted:) and LA (choir reunion)! And it falls right in my spring break! the SF show is the Monday of my Spring break! Its like a dream!! :mikalove:

  6. Im not a fan of this version. :aah:

I showed this to my sister and she said Mika asked the choir backstage in hollywood if anyone knew who Ariana Grande was. They all said no. And he acted confused and it seemed he didn't know who she was either. He was Like "i guess shes on nickelodeon. I don't know. You guys are young so i thought you'd know" But she said he didnt mention a song.

Just thought that was interesting....or not.

  7. My last show was 3 weeks ago and for 2 weeks i was fine! I was like "wow im so happy and okay with everything. this is great. I remember being so depressed last time"

WRONG! This last week i finally came down from that looooong mika-high.

Major PMD! Everything just sucked. And I was just so angry at everyone. :aah: I just missed Mika! :tears::naughty:

Im better now. :wink2: Enough where i can actually come on here, but not completely recovered.

  8. In closing, it was an awesome day but a part of me felt like I had no business being there, I don't know why, but I don't ever want to be on stage with Mika again, I feel at home in the audience with my camera but it was an amazing experience.

Funny. I felt the exact opposite. I never want to have to be in the crowd ever again! :aah::aah:

Thanks for the report! It's cools hearing other choir stories!!

And there was just no one there would have a party with me, it was so boring that most of the choir was just singing. Then it’s a bit hard to have a party when the rest are just so baring to look at. And I felt like we looked like complete idiots because we wasn’t doing the same moves any of us.

I tried to have a party with myself on the stage. But I couldn’t see anything and I felt like the own there was trying to have a party -.-‘ but it was fun.. kinda.. it could have been better and more organized I think it was so poorly organized. Really. We was lost on that stage. I don’t think if they asked me to be in the choir one more time that I would say yes, I would rather see the show from the front row. Or otherwise just be in a other choir like NY, or Amsterdam, they seemed to have so much more fun and have understood the “choir spirit” a bit better than us.

Overall I’m a bit disappointed, I didn’t have that much fun as I thought I would and we needed some more boys in the choir and some more choir spirit. And someone there would have a party with me. And if you read this Chirstine, the BG/LG was a better idea. I can see it might be fun for some people. But I just felt so left out, and was so tired of waiting :aah:

Aye that stinks no one wanted to party! And that everyone wasn't a family. In LA all we wanted to do was hug eachother!

It's weird the choir didnt want to choreograph little things, like they told you....for MIKA at least. It's his show, at least make it look like you're know what you're doing, right? Haha

Sorry you were disappointed. I feel bad because I know how amazing it could have been for you if everyone just let go.

  9. I would take that as a compliment and an honour. :wink2:

    oh yea, definitely!

That's so nice to hear, and I'm so glad that everyone in your group "got it."

When we had our little meet-up with Mika last week, I was so glad that all the MFCers there were chill -- it was a great contrast to when Mika had come out after the show the night before, when people were crushing up against him so much that I couldn't even move out of the way. I didn't even want an autograph or anything, I was just standing there, and I was swept up in the crowd. Not cool, and definitely not conducive to a nice little moment with Mika. :sneaky2:

I'm so happy for you! You waited a long time for such a special treat! :huglove:

Yea, I know its so great when everything is just so chill. I haven't been in crazyness around Mika, but ive heard stories. yuck!

thanks! :biggrin2: :biggrin2: And yes it was a long time coming but it was so worth the wait. I couldn't have asked for a better Mika experience.

Funny, the rest of the choir told me that my sister couldn't even LOOK at Mika without crying on Sunday because she felt guilty being there when i wasn't. Apparently she told them the story about the Oakland show 3 years ago where the mfc went for a M&G but she was mad/sick and forced me to go home. That was something she felt guilty abut for 3 ****ing years! And that's why she was like "im getting you into that choir!" :teehee: well, it worked. And when we all left everyone was like "so, is she forgiven?" DUH!

Also i have to mention i think i had like the best deal becasue I got to WATCH the show from center barricade the 1st night, and sing in the choir the 2nd! I was the only one in the choir that actually got to see the show! it was perfect! :hi5:

OH and they showed a clip of the choir on AXS TV! The bad news is IM THE ONLY ONE NOT IN THE SHOT! haha :doh:My entire body is covered by my sisters big head! oh well.

I haven't found it online yet. I was the only from the choir that saw it on tv so they made me record it with my phone! You may have to turn it up a bit.

  10. (this is going to come out like word vomit...but this iswhats happening in my brain ---->*osdghiejhgigvhgrhgu*<---- so bare with me)

Okay. So i sang in Mondays Polka Dot choir with like less than 24 hours notice.

The story starts on sunday, so im mushing a little bit of sunday in there.

We get up early to get ready, leave the hotel to head to Hollywood. My sister made it into the choir but she was willing to get there early to wait with me.

My sister goes to rehearsal. Hours later I go inside with the crowd and during the dolls I get a text "TIM SAID YOU ARE 100% SINGING TOMORROW! YOU AND ME!"

and i freak out! The choir was all watching the crowd on the screen backstage and said they all screamed when they saw me read the text! I was so lucky the choir was so happy i was joining then becasue it could have been the opposite.

What happened was one of the guys couldn't do the second show. And Tim already knew my sister would do anything to get me to sing. So he had her send him another video of me singing. And then later he came to my sister saying "sooo...you're sister can do it? 100%?" DUH!

I didnt go to the rehearsal so my sister had to teach me the parts in the car on the way to The Fonda on Monday!!!

On Monday i was so nervous. I got into the venue and saw the soundcheck and met some of the other girls. Then we headed backstage and i me the rest of the choir and they all like knew me already. And were like as excited as i was that i was there becasue they knew i was a stupidly huge Mika fan.

So i wait backstage. Sign the paperwork that everyone did the day before and Tim comes in and asks if i learned the parts. Yes i did. He told us to figure out where we are going to stand because i was the shortest one there. So he was going to leave us to figure stuff out and i was just like "Really, honestly, thank you sooo much. " He was like "of course, no problem!"

We wait some more. And before anything else happened it was just so cool to be backstage. Sitting. Talking and having everything and everyone working around us. His mom, yasmine, the band, the crew..it was surreal. This was a ****ing MIKA SHOW!

So then Tim comes and we go through some of the songs with him and Joy just with guitar and it sounded awesome! i was happy and i think Tim was relieved that i actually learned the parts. Which wasnt hard. The alto parts were the easiest so i lucked out.

So we waited more and Mika walks in like "hi guys" and he leaves.

We all have an hour before the show so the choir was planning our own choreography and making sure we do things all together.

His mom was giving us advice. Like to always move and do so together. Saying its more powerful if we move as one and to just go for it. her advice helped.

Then Mika came in with AXS TV was like "ready to sing!" so he led us to his dressing room and we all piled inside. In there we sang "Popular Song" with him and Tim. And it sounded really good! I caught him staring at me so i was like "am i smiling?" so i started to really smile and have fun then he laid off.

I was super nervous at first becasue this is the 1st time I was ever with Mika. I never met him before and the rest of the choir spent all day with him the day before so they were used to it. So i am worried im going to look terrified in the beginning of the clip! :aah:

Anyways after that I heard Mika asking tim "wheres Lucia? Whos Lucia" adn he pointed to me and i was last coming out of the dressing room anyways. So i was like "oh Im Lucia. Im Lucy. Im new!" and he grabbed my arm and said "Hi!" and I didnt know what to do so i grabbed his arm and it was so awkward! He asked me where i was standing and then left. I died.

When i came back my sister was like "where the hell were you!" and i was like "um...i cant" :swoon:

When we were waiting during the dolls i needed to use the restroom so i get up and head over but when i get close to the foor Mika somes out and is changing his clothes, so I just make a U-turn and headed back to my seat. It must have been obvious but i didnt want to be "hey mika..i need to pee...excuse me!" hahaha

So we wait more and before the show mika tells us to robe up and tells us all how to do better tonight. He was like "You need to look at me at all times! GO crazy but watch me! And SING INTO YOUR MIC! Also, When i do this *angry face pointing to the side* IT MEANS GET OFF STAGE!!!!" :naughty: And he was telling us to do everything like we mean it and to just go crazy! Some of the guys told him that they were afraid of hitting each other becasue we are so close. And he was like "WHo cares!?? If anything this is the time TO hit someone in the face!! BE Fearless! FEARLESS!" and on that last "fearless" one of the giant balloons they were blowing up behind us pops! and everyone like yells and jumps and it was perfect becasue then Mika said "NO! I SAID FEARLESS!!!" haha It was like a scene from a movie.

Oh and I think it was this time that Mika came out when the rest of the choir was like "show him your Billy Brown tattoo" but i was like "nooo". But then they were like "MIKA! She has Billy Brown on her foot!" he came over "Where? let me see" So i show him, He see it and says "Oh yea, there he is!" Then he just smiles at me kinda weird like he didn't know what to say and leaves. But it was amazing that he finally got to see my tattoo! Ive had it for almost 5 years and he finally saw it.

So right before he goes on stage he comes around, shakes everyone's hand and tells them to have a great show. then hes off.

Performing on stage was ridiculous! It was so much fun! The first song we did was Popular and it was amazing and i was so pumped! After the song Mika knelt down, gave me a huge smile and thumbs up. :biggrin2::thumb_yello:

Celebrate was crazy becasue we had to throw out balloons and people were like hitting them back and it was just hard to sing! haha

During Happy Ending...i think.. he has us say our names into his mic and it was cool. Im hoping for a video of that.

Grace Kelly was super fun! Tim hella had us practicing it backstage and we didnt even sing in our mics! haha We just went crazy and were singing the entire song! It was so fun! It was great getting the crowd to pumped! The balcony loves when they got even attention from the choir! Like we'd put our little heart up with our hands and crowd would too. Even with no Mika, i was the last one off stage and was throwing my heart up and people were throwing it back up at me...awesome. I totally could do this like forever.

We Are Golden was also super fun! I like felllt it! haha Then we went out to bow and i was next to Tim which i am happy about becasue he is amazing and he totally didnt have to let me into the choir! So Tim is my favorite person ever pretty much.

After the show we are all nasty and the band come and talk to us for a bit. Then Mika comes and says we were the BEST choir! And that the show was PERFECT! And that it'll be super hard to top our choir! :mf_rosetinted: We were like "hey....we'll stay on!". I think he was also happy that we actually listened to what he told us and took his feedback. We were watching him the entire time and did everything like we meant it.

Also, we became really good friends within the choir so performing with each other was really comfortable and i think you could see it.

So he had us do a group picture. But then he agreed to do individual pictures. He thougth about it for a second until he said "okay! yes! lets do it! but quicky!". But he was really cool about it, he was just thinking about time. Dita Von Teese and Christian Louboutin were waiting behind us like "omg...hurry up, we just want to hang out with Mika" faces on . ahhaah :naughty:

We wanted to be quick so we made and line and a phone swapping system so when i was my turn my sister put up my phone and Mika was like "OH NOOOO. What the **** is that?? Thats your phone? Thats huge! Might as well have brought a frying pan!" :teehee: But yea, my phone case is unnecessarily large.

So after we head outside and talked with Joy and Max who are amazzzzing! Seriously the best.

After that, we left and ran to the front and took one last group pic with just the choir infront of the marquee!

It was the best night of my life!

I was really happy with how respectful everyone was. We had fun backstage and were kind of crazy but no one was obnoxious or weird to mika/his family/crew. We talked to people but didnt push. No one bothered Mika if he wasn't talking to us. No one even dared bring a camera out until the very end. And it was amazing. I hope every choir is the same.

Also if you are in a future choir. Just watch him, he will direct you. And he changes everything. He changed the setlist...skipped songs..and everything. The choir learned this the 1st night, so the 2nd night we were just always waiting on the side of the stage so we could always see Tim call us up or we could run on fast if we heard a song we knew we were on. Also don't get butthurt. He didn't really treat us like fans until the end. We had a job to do and we were representing HIM and he wants the show to be perfect so if you get angry face ....just be better!

But it was amazing! To cue off of him and help the show go on! Its such an amazing experience. Thank You MIKA!

  11. Lucy, what did your sister say about the show?? Is she singing again with him tonight??

So glad you got to go.

She said it was crazy!! After their rehearsal they all came and told us all that happened. They rehearsed everything but then Mika came in and changed everything! Haha and that they like did nothing they were supposed to during the show but she said it was great.

She is singing tonight too. AND SO AM I!!!!!!!!

Because Tim is amazing. But I didn't do rehearsals so he just wants my sister to teach my everything. Ahhh.

Oh and after the show when they were getting offstage, Tim came up and yelled at me "tomorrow?!?!?" pointing down at the stage and I was like "hell yeahhhhhh!!!!!"

This is why I'm on here right now and not queuing like crazy like yesteday!
