hello everyone I thought i'd let you know I'll have a spare ticket for the sheffield gig mum can't come with me so if anyone wants one let me know o.k:biggrin2:

o.k guys I have to say this now (sorry to upset anyone) but from now until further notice I will not be taking any more "orders" for the bracelets as I have loads still left to post from the 1st lot I got plus dozens & dozens more requests literally I have about 40 to send out & still a few more to buy!!!

it's an expensive thing to do & I do NOT get a discount on the bracelets you know! I get very little money as it is & I have several shows to go to which is gonna cost me a lot of money just one show i'm going to next month is costing me over a hundred pounds so anyone else who wants them who hasn't already requested them will have to wait until further notice o.k

after these lot of orders have been fulfilled & I have been to the gigs & don't have a lot to pay out for I shall maybe buy some more for others but til then no more for now sorry

i am a single sole person with very little money & dozens & dozens of requests for these bracelets (more than I could ever have anticipated) so please be patient & understand I can't just do what an online shop or business can do & fulfill hundreds of orders just "like that"

I figured it out. I'm sending it to my Dad's house (He doesn't ask questions... though I just remembered he forgot to give me my Nickelodeon bound mag. thing I had sent....) anyway, I have 2 I'm giving to my sisters for their birthdays (I think they will love them. ). If they (Mom and step-dad) ask where I got them, I'll say I saw them online and thought they were cute. Which is the truth.

Right guys thought i best let all of you know the folloowing

as i currently have 20 of the bracelets to post out & i get very little money & have 6 gigs to pay for travel expenses over the next couple of months etc, It will mean that if you have just requested (or are about to request) that I get you a bracelet it may be a few weeks before I can afford to order some more

i will say this I shall get you them for sure you just may have to wait a while, I have these 20 to ship out over the next 2 weeks (i'm paid fortnightly) and now i have requests for another 12 so far so if you haven't gotten a pm from me or confirmation that i have yours on this thread here then i shall be putting your name on a list & will contact you as soon as i have more in my hands or know i can definately afford to get more from the company i get them from o.k

I'm still more than happy to get them from people I just want you all to know the situation, so that you know I won't be able to ship them out to you straight away, you may have a few weeks wait so please be patient with me o.k

I think the problem has more to do with his breathing than his range.

 

Breathing isn't a fully voluntary function. We do have some voluntary control over it, but we have to balance control with the natural need for oxygen. He's increasingly active on stage, which sucks a lot of oxygen. Throw nerves on top of that and the voluntary muscle control goes out the window.

 

He may very well be keeping up his vocal training, but not so much his aerobic training. In performances where he's relaxed, he's perfectly capable of managing his air, but when he gets the nerves, the same thing happens to his body as everybody else's. The chest locks up and the air doesn't cooperate. Without the air you can't hit the notes.

 

Of course, this is speculation. He may just have been cold, which can also lock things up. He may be getting lazy, but that theory does not hold up with his body language and his tendency to work rather than play (assuming reports of holidays cut short are true.)

 

The wanting to hug and comfort him is compassion for the frustration in his body language. It sucks when you want something to be perfect and your body doesn't cooperate or things go wrong or it just isn't perfect because it just isn't. Wanting to hug him doesn't mean I missed the fact that his performance wasn't what it could have been. On the contrary, it means I'm fully aware of that fact and hope he has someone in his life to remind him of the fact that there's more to him than performing and that a hugely important performance gone wrong doesn't mean he's worthless or that he should stop.

 

Because the perfectionist in me wants to quit every single time I screw up and I know how important it is to keep going and work through the things that went wrong so that they can be fixed. But you can't fix anything if you beat yourself and quit.

 

Constructive criticism is important, but without the balance of "there's more to life than this one thing" it's just destructive. That road leads to overcompensation and self-destruction. I would rather he have someone nice to hug than go down that road.

I have to say I agree with all you said totally!

I am a singer & dancer too & have been most of my 24 years & it can be such a pain to combine the 2 (I have to say i've missed this performance of Mika's *slaps self*) but anyhow it is NOT the end of the world if he screwed up a bit, we all do it from time to time (those of us who sing & dance) and I'm sure it must be a nervewracking thing to do to perform in front of the queen, I'd personally not ever slate him for it, I'd just talk things over with him & give him a big hug i'd tell him it's o.k there's more important things in the world than screwing up a performance now & then & go through what went wrong & how to avoid it if possible in future.

The worst thing you can do in my personal opinion is to strongly criticize a person (especially someone like Mika who from my observations seems a smidge fragile) the best thing is to just hug them reassure them & then go through how to work things out without making them feel like a failure or a loser (which he isn't)

I find people with brown eyes to look a lot more realistic though. The one of Samuel Jackson at Madame Tussaud's in London looks so lifelike you expect him to start talking.
