  1. She's already invited me to stay :naughty:

But it's definitely too hot for me atm ... and then there are the spiders

Wel, I certainly hope you will be taking her up on that offer....hhhmmmmmm

....and the snakes, sting rays, sharks, jelly fish and most importantly the drop bears:naughty:....none of which will hurt you :wink2:

  2. IT'S RAINING HERE !!!!! :woot_jump:

    :woot_jump:Excellent news! :woot_jump:

Too early for wine, but I'm munching some grapes :naughty:

My assistant is off next week too - half term for her little boy. And she's handed in her notice (emigrating to Australia. Really)

 It's never too early for wine!

I say you swap places with your assistant and we can share you around :das:

  3. It wouldn't be quite so bad if I wasn't due to go into hospital for a minor op next week - I will be off for a least a week after that. I will have an absolute mountain of work to go back to.

(Although the op might have been postponed due to the bad weather - I must phone and check :naughty:)

 You are ok though? Surely someone can pick up the slack for one week.

You certainly better find out young lady. It's more important than ever to make sure you take it easy and completely get over your cold now.

    Awwwwwwwwwwww ...... Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutttttte .... *melts*

:lmfao: I cheers you with my glass of red wine then Tan ! *clinks*

    "chookahs" toots :roftl:

  4. :sneaky2: Yes I saw you

I don't usually have any time off sick from work, but this is my second time in as many weeks - I just don't have any energy. But then I feel guilty about not being at work.

Sometimes it just can't be helped. I'm sure you work hard, so when you're sick it should be all about you.

I used to feel guilty when I had time off but I don't anymore :naughty:

  5. I've been to some cartoons on my own (Chicken Run and Toy Story 1 & 2) but the parents in the queues look at you like you're some sort of pervert if you haven't got kids with you.

I figured out a way around that ages ago :naughty: Everytime I build up enough time off at work, I take the time and go during the week and during the day and there's next to no one there :thumb_yello:....sometimes we even get the whole cinema to ourself :naughty:...that's the only time my friends will come with me because there isn't anyone there to see them :wink2: Also, if you take your mum, you can go anytime and they just look at you like your sweet because you're taking you mum to the movies!

For everyone's information, I am now enjoying an alcoholic slushy :lick_lips: :naughty:....well, it's actually my 6th but I'm not counting :naughty:

  6. I love animated films but must admit I hadn't heard about "Coraline". I shall look out for it now.

The only problem I have with animated films is finding children to drag along to watch them with me :naughty:

That was the first I had heard of Coraline too.

Nertz to that.....I go whether I can drag along a child or not :naughty:

:roftl: Hahah !!! Enterprising little fella !!! She/he will go places !!! :roftl:

    :lmfao:

Maybe he / she can hook up with Sam the Koala and her boyfriend Bob and they can go on the road!:wink2:

  7. Awwww .... thank you Mana :huglove: ....

your koala link reminded me of smth. I received the other day ....

    Subject: HEAT in South Australia

It has been so hot in South Australia for over a week…40+ degrees Celsius everyday, very dry also.

This is from a guy who works in WA but lives at Maude in SA.

His wife sent him these photos of a little Koala which just walked into the back porch looking for a bit of heat relief.

She filled up a bucket and this is what happened!

    Awwwwwwwww ..... :wub2:

I got that e-mail too! Only mine said this:

In Victoria the temperature has been above 4 4 degrees all week and they are forecasting another week of 40+ temperatures. Power is failing, trains have stopped running because tracks are buckling under the heat . It’s just scorchingand it seems that the people are not the only ones suffering.

Check out these photos of a little Koala which just walked onto a back porch looking for a bit of heat relief. The woman filled up a bucket for it and this is what happened!

I wonder how many other states this little fella visited :naughty:

  8. Wow... that's amazing... And that's so good that the Japanese had a minute's silence... I would expect it in Australia, but it to happen in another country seems so surprising to me...

I hope people are going to watch the appeal thing on tomorrow night... I will try and watch as much as I can, but I'll be at TAFE (I actually decided to go back to TAFE and do a Cert 4, and I've done most of the stuff for the subjects we cover on Wed nights)...

I know! They said they would be collecting money but I didn't hear anything about the minute's silence.

    We will aboslutely be watching!

 I'm blubbering whenever I watch the news.

Right there with you. I've been leaving it on Sky News all day, everyday. They've just said there are now 1,000 homes destroyed and the toll could exceed 300 people :tears:

Although I haven't had a lot of opportunity to post here in a while, you've been on my mind - especially the Aussies in Melbourne and the tragedies.

I'm glad to see my friends here are okay, but I'm still saddened by all the loss that has happened around you.:tears:

    Thinking of you ...

    Hi Suzy :huglove:

  9. Not so much deets. And I am limited by the battery on this.

Okay so I got on the train from Frankston, and at some point I vaguely registered the presence of another person with a suitcase further up the carriage. His back was to me though. I then went back to my book (I was rereading Twilight)

So, eventually we got to Southern Cross, and I hop off the train. I glance up the station a bit and there is suitcase boy, only this time I get a bit of a look "Hmmm, cute" I think to myself, while absentmindedly wondering where he is off to.

I hope on the escalators on the one next to him, but a little behind. I then start making my way to the bus terminals, noticing that suitcase boy was also heading that way. I was beginning to feal stalkerish.

Before I hopped on the skybus, I went to the toilet, thus losing suitcase boy. But when I hop on the bus, who should I see but him, and this time I get a bit of an odd look.

Anyways, the skybus is crowded, I take a seat and we arrive at Melbourne airport. I lose site of him again as I try to find the Tiger Terminal (t4, which is not actually in the main airport part. You have to leave that part, walk down a fair bit following the paw prints and then you find it)

I wait in line to check in (no web check in), and glance up the line. A couple of people in front of me, checking into my same flight is suitcase boy  Now I really felt stalkerish.

After checking in I was tempted to talk to him, but caffiene needs called and so I got a much needed coffee, then went to browse magazines (another important thing, I picked up Q with Kings of Leon on the cover :wub2:)

Anyways I take a seat again, and sit opposite him (unintentionally)

I was just about to strike up a conversation and remark on how much of a stalker I am (which means a bit of time has passed, as I flicked through my mag and tried to work up the courage) when the boarding call came on.

Sadly my stalking powers did not extend so far as to getting a seat next to him. And thus the tale ends there.

No sign of him today either, but I may live to stalk him another day

    Welcome back Bec!

  10. The Japanese people just had a minutes silence for the Bushfire victims before the start of our world cup qualifier in Japan....and they've been collecting at the ground :tears:

The national anthem made me bawl my eyes out. There is only 1,000 aussies there but they were even louder than usual. I'll definitely be a blubbering mess at the bushfire appeal game on Friday night!

  11. Thanks Tan ... :huglove:

Well, the smoke haze that I woke up to has cleared now so I'm feeling way less nervous :naughty: .... big south/easterly gusts are coming thru' now ... I hope that's ok for some of the fire fronts ... possibly get some rain tonight ... :original:

How about you ? All ok where you are ?? :wub2:

I'm glad the smoke has cleared up and you're ok :huglove: *crosses fingers for rain*

So far so good for my Uncle and we're ok because we live in the burbs. :thumb_yello:

  12. I've noticed that the websites aren't very current too.

Skynews is the most accurate source.

Well, I hope for once they're not accurate because they're saying it's going to get alot worse. Tomorrow's forcast is supposed to be gusting winds.

The just said on Channel 9 that arsonists are re-lighting fires that have already been put out. F***ing animals.

    Here I am. :bye:

Sorry, I'm really busy with homework.

Don't be sorry, just glad you're ok :huglove:

  13. i've heard of the fires..the news here are talking a lot about them!

i never post in this thread, mainly because i cannot understand you!

you have a very peculiar language...quite difficult for me...i tried many times but i had to give up

now happi invited me again, as i was talking to her about the fires...we have fires in italy EVERY summer, due to some raskall or to natural combustion....a huge part of our beautiful country goes into smoke every year...i feel for you so much and for the ppl who died or lost their properties.

take care dear people..keep a small part of your country safe my god...mika might well land there sometimes!

*runs before being hit by a shoe*

    Congratulations!:thumb_yello:

It’s not the easiest English to understand…I feel the same way.

    Let’s keep struggling together!

We have learned a lot of Brittish English through the Oldlings thread so far haven’t we?:wink2:

It's hard to put in words but I'm thinking a lot of you!

:wub2: You guys are so sweet.

You would be surprised what the greenies will be against... they were against any sort of development in the Blue Mountains for a looooong time (and are only just allowing new houses to be built)... even one of the greenies on the council here cracked the ****s about a tree being knocked down to make way for a road, when 20 shrubs and trees are being planted next door...

As you can tell, I don't like greenies...

I usually do like the greens but I have to agree with you here Teegs. My Uncle lives in Beaconsfield and the greens stopped the councils there and in the surrounding areas from doing preventative back burning prior to bushfire season which IMO was just ridiculous.

Someone needs to start getting their information updated. ACcording to CFA and DSE websites, there is no threat to the residents of Won Wron.....Sky News just spoke to a CFA rep who was saying the fire is raging towards Won Wron and they expect it to impact directly over night
