  1. Yesterday was the last concert of the European Tour...after 18 months he put the word "END" to his Heaven Tour. It was a strange night, monstly because everyone thought that this search for the place in heaven was about to end, as he continued the concert so it was a bit sad. He was tired but at the same time he was able to surprise the audience with Step With Me (one of my favourite song!) and Blame It On The Girls! It was like going back in time ... for a moment I felt like I was in pre-Xfactor period: full of colors, full of happiness, full of genuine speeches and funny jokes. I was moved when at the beginning, changing the SWM words, he summed up his Italian journey: I think that he was his way to say goodbye to all his old project and move on.

I have to thank a lot the MFC and Mika Team for the M&G: I'm very honoured to have taken apart and be able to listen his idea of his new tv project for Rai2. Glad that he talked in English: it was easier for him and for us to understand his idea of show and what he wants to create. I hope that soon there will be a video of his speech so everyone can listen what he said. Sorry that at the end it was a bit crowded and chaotic and pushy so I didn't have the chance to say hi to him ( otherwise they would have crushed me) but it was enough :) Thank you so so so so much for this opportunity!

    Until the next time.

    Unitl another Mika's summer Tour.

    Until another Mika's adventure.

  2. Here are my videos of that amazing night... it's so hard to back in RL after that concert. I danced and sang like the good old times not worrying about anything and had so much fun! Loved especially Good Wife and Over My Shoulder... My heart is still in Perugia

  4. Thank you Eriko for the sharing this new column!

Radio Corriere TV is the official mag of RAI so I was expecting something on it: more or less it says the same thing of the Press release in the first post, adding some infos about Mika's life (he was bulled at school, his mother saved him, he left school, etc etc) Nothing new :naughty:

  5. Mika show: "I'll bring in Rai my fight for rights"

Guests, a studio for live music and especially white paper (or almost) on the contents. After "X Factor", there's again TV in the pop star's life: from November he will conduct a variety on RaiDue

Bubbly, how he was always surrounded by microscopic fireworks, bright smile as a child and necklaces that give him a hippie air, but at the same time I wonder why ultramodern, Mika welcomes us in a small suite filled with TinTin comics prints : "Every time I'm here I always try to have this room, it is my favorite, I always loved these comics, and then there is a wonderful view."

The almost stateless performer, citizen of the world but with residence in London, is in Brussels in the day of Brexit ("It was not the right time politically and economically too weak, but I have to admit I was more Eurosceptic") to sign a series of new watches designed by him, but we are here to talk about the television news: a show in four episodes in November in prime time on Rai Due.

It is the reason why you declared that you didn't want to continue the experience of "X Factor"?

"Absolutely not, I didn't even know that it was a realistic thing, a jump ... it would seem easy, after X Factor, but it is not so, the jump is big and I did not think it was possible. Then there was the interest of RaiDue, and the coincidence of finding Ilaria Dallatana with whom I shared the beginning of the path at X Factor. Preciuous connections, I thought it was all quite strange to be able to work", and about the signs of destiny he quotes Gibran, the beloved prophet by many rock star, and see the case he's also Lebanese like Mika. "And then there is especially my unconsciousness."

    How will the program work?

"When I accepted, I said yes but I need carte blanche, as in concert, even if I know that it is not a concert: I have the responsibility to enter in the houses of everyone, but I have to get there as myself. They said ok, and I have already written a kind of detailed storyboard about everything that should ideally happen, I do not know if it will really happen, but the mood and rhythm of everything is already defined. "

So? It will be a variety, with classical figures such little valleys?

"No, it will be a" one man show ":guests, but not many, in the studio like a live, with some parts recorded outside, it will be recorded even if with the times and the manners of a live show, because if I go in the lion's den ... ".

How much there will be of Mika's eclecticism, his commitment, the fight against homophobia?

"There are so many rules when you start working with RAI, behavior rules in a political sense, I did not imagine it was like that. I read everything, I always do it, because I am afraid, I worry. I always speak of refugees, racism, legality, homophobia, but reading the rules, it seemed i had no permission to talk about almost anything. They throw everything in politics: but how can I talk about these things without take sides? So I talked to Ilaria and she explained to me that it not so schematic, so in the show I will put everything, but exactly how I do it in music: as an artist, not as a politician, I have to do the same thing in the show. Otherwise, as the English say, it would be a vanilla show, harmless. .. I am a foreigner and this should be enhanced, after years of X Factor now I could be accepted. If this occasion had happened four years ago, it would not have been possible. "

But basically it's already happened: your quick assimilation of the language, the innate sympathy, you're already Italianised ..

"If so I'm happy but I'm a gypsy, when I was 6 years my family left Lebanon for Paris, 16th arrondissement, called us the gypsies of seizième and it was not a nice thing, it was aggressive, perhaps because of way we do, colors, music, we were punk-boheme. we were not always well received (he makes an error of pronunciation)... ".

So he says, but the speed with which he grasps the language, including errors in the end makes us smile.

"... This gives me the opportunity to go into the world without being afraid to leave my house, everything is suspended: I'm glad to be here a bit 'Italian, in France a little' French, in England a little 'English'.

It sounds all very modern, exactly the direction in which the wind of global communication goes ...

"For sure I represent a much more mobile generation. We are also forced to move: stand firm in your own home is a luxury, but at the same time I think the idea of being all mixed is positive. Since I started working for the UN with refugees, I realized that it is and it will be one of the major issues to be solved in the world. Now we are official 60 million of displaced, but the real number is certainly much bigger. "

    Instinctive?

"Yes, even when it hurts. But it's my Arab side: Inshallah, everything is already written, even a wrong choice can cause an extraordinary result."

You seem to have in common with two sacred monsters like Freddy Mercury and David Bowie the tendency to think of yourself as a true work of art, is that it?

"For me it is not a calculated attitude, maybe it is but in the most carnal sense, from the appetite I have when I want to connect many different things. Bowie yes that was a work of art: the body, the clothes he wore, there was always a full meaning ".

They say that at work you are much meaner than you seem. True?

"Bad not. Hard, but I would not say bad. If you're bad the good people forsake you, friends know it, I'm not an angel, but you do not have to be an angel to be a good person, and you do not have to be a devil to get dirty hands".

Ci vediamo in giro… e a Novembre su Rai2”

IN NOVEMBER ON RAI 2 MIKA ARRIVES: "I'M MOVED AND GRATEFUL TO BE ABLE TO MAKE MY OWN SHOW"

Rai continues in its path of renewal and on the eve of the presentation of its program listings presents a preview an outstanding news: Mika, one of the biggest pop stars of the international contemporary music scene, comes on RAI-2 as the star of a new TV project, broadcasted in four episodes in prime time in November.

Rai Due has been confirmed as the preferred network for content to contemporary and international vocation.

Mika will give life to a major one-man show, a musical format but not only that, he'll tell the country that it has "adopted" him and to which to return the love received, a story with a strong identity, one rich look but not conventional on Italy. A journey of music, fun, of great national and international artists, of very special stories of not famous people.

The program, whose title will be revealed in the coming weeks, will be an opportunity for a confrontation on sensitive issues especially for the younger generation, in a path guided by the artist who more than any other represents the complexity of the contemporary world and at the same time the chance to find a universal language.

"I am very grateful to Rai2 for giving me the opportunity to realize my own show - said Mika - which secretly I've always dreamed of doing, but until a few weeks ago I would not even imagined it would be possible. I'm really excited, we will begin the production shortly and I am developing the project of the show: the concert tour that this summer will take me around all over Italy will be an incredible source of inspiration, I'm sure! See you around ... and in November on RAI-2 "

"I am very proud that Mika has accepted the proposal to realize his project on RAI-2" said the director of RAI-2 Ilaria Dallatana: "Mika The show will be a flagship of the network and is one of the first signs of the new languages and the new worlds that we will try to explore, combining entertainment and great music a reflection on the issues of contemporary society and the youth in particular. A productive investment - concluded Dallatana - absolutely in line with the business plan of the company and with the mission that has been assigned to Rai2 "

  8. Hello! Another translation

Before, starting, yes Eriko the one you posted is the scan I posted of "Messaggero Veneto" (the first one in this page)...So here's the translation

Mika: "The word of the millennium is only one, tolerance"

The pop star will close the "Live in Trieste" July 28, after Einaudi and Iron Maiden. "Music saved me. The world needs a communion of thoughts "by Gian Paolo Polesini

UDINE. Mika is like you see and how you feel it. He does not use filters of the stars. It is a percepition too acute to be mistaken, listening to him.

"Music has saved my life" - confides. "As a kid I was dyslexic. The fight with my teacher, an asshole, was fierce. My mother told me clearly: "If then you do not study works." I began to sing, since writing was putting some time. Everything passed. I'm writing a book now. Never give up. And just to finish the speech, Grace Kelly came out of a moment of rebellion, of frustration. A provocation. "

The pop star Anglo / Lebanese / Syrian is one step away from the new tour that is knocking with pressure. Starting from Puglia June 24. Stop in Trieste on July 28, several times already spoilered, in a Live in Trieste crowded with other friends: 9 Ludovico Einaudi and 26 Iron Maiden. And just to inhale pure oxygen and useful for future propulsion Mika went into hiding in Greece. "It is an inaccessible island," he says. "A need of peace."

    - You are a mixed blood. England flows, Lebanon flows and Syria flows on you. A flow prevails over the other, or is it an harmonious coexistence?

"Echoes of distant feelings sometimes have the upper hand. Not having a fixed homeland, that happens. Around the world, I live it and I will not look after the ethnic features. I try to co-ordinate the co-existence. A tolerance mix. Here, forgive the digression, but it is important. Tolerance is the word of the millennium, inevitably united to the damn opposite: intolerance. The key is all in those two words. We have to decide which one to choose. What happens to me is the essence of contemporary life. The mixing of peoples is the future. "

    - And what better mountboard of culture? Yours is an universal language, no need to translate it.

"I remember a Cesaria Evora concert. I did not understand the words, but the music embraced me as if I always known her. "

    - Avoiding rhetoric like the plague, yet it is necessary to denounce the bad mood of the world. The massacre in Orlando is yet another tragic epilogue of a war going on.

"It is a global battle to defeat freedom. Let's go back a little while ago: tolerance, with the addition of a communion of thoughts. Woe to resignation. "

    - Mika, you first spoke of provocation. It is customary, often, put it at the service of art. It serves to corroborate it, if used well ...

"The gritty accessory of punk, just to throw down an example, is aesthetic and not substance. We must handle it with care. It can launch or damage, it depends. "

    - How are you inside the Italian television?

"Yours is a curious country. I do not deny that I was scared at the beginning. I had put it off from feet with X Factor, the fear I mean. It was awesome".

    - This is a homophobic country?

"No less and no more than others. Homophobia is there and I think, wishing it, that it's running out. Slowly".

  9. Massacre in Orlando, Mika: "Disgusting attack to gay people, we must react"

The artist in Puglia on the eve of the tour that will begin with the Molfetta concert on June 24 speaks about the massacre in Florida: "I believe that future generations will be much more tolerant than us"

The Petruzzelli of Bari should say thank you, Mika. "I was allowed to do a show that I always dreamed, almost a one man show". And a few months away from the explosive performance, the singer is back in Puglia. Indeed, he chose it as the first date of his Italian tour, stopping on June 24 to Banchina San Domenico Molfetta. Music and effort goes always arm in arm, for him. Since that first "Grace Kelly" which was a statement of intention to the last "Hurts," which clearly speaks of bullying - it is featured in the soundtrack of "Un bacio" by Ivan Cotroneo -Mika takes place. And he does so in connection with the murder of Orlando, 49 victims in a gay club.

Mika, the words hurt, as he sings in "Hurts", but in Orlando happened worse.

"It's disgusting and it's sad to think people attacked and their families, to the effect on the LGBT community in Florida and around the world. And in the face of such facts we have to react. The first thing to do it right is to start a discussion, a conversation about the equality. Because intolerance has devastating consequences. Although I believe that future generations will be more tolerant than us, as we are compared to those of the past. "

    It will get better, then?

"I'm optimistic, you have to be. But it is not a matter of time, tolerance is caused. Because it is true that ideas kill people, as they say, but so do the guns. And the use of weapons in America is ridiculous, absurd, there is no justification. "

How important is in front of these tragedies that an artist take sides? You did so long ago, after the homophobic attacks on the posters of your tour in Florence.

"Do not ever be afraid to express, it is essential. It does not matter to be an artist or a public person, you must do it even if you're at school or at the office. You have to take the risk of expressing. When I was attacked in Florence I did not react immediately I saw the photos on Twitter and Instagram of my fans. I felt angry and even embarrassed, I must admit. But it's what happened after that was important. "

    What happened?

"My fans were angry with me because I had not spoken, I had forgotten the boy that I was at 14, when at school I did not know how to go from one part of the yard without being beaten, insulted, without receiving objects thrown in the head. it was my reality, and I had forgotten who I was. I was right to my fans and I said: "Let's break the silence", to respect that person that I was. "

Talking about Puglia, you conquered the stage of the Petruzzelli.

"I have very special memories of that night, it was one of the most beautiful theaters where I sang in my life, it has an opening of the stage very beautiful. It allowed me to do the show I always dreamed, obsessed as I am by
the shooting Jacques  Brel, who started in front of the tents telling his stories and his experiences. it is something that happens only through a place like a beautiful theater, and it was fun for me to play with this dynamic. I inspired the show in Bercy with it a few weeks ago, in front of 16 thousand people. I was able to create a very intimate dynamic with the audience, dedicating a love letter to Paris after the November attacks. "

But what will you do with this tour?

"It has a beautiful scenography, but the set list changes every night and I can change it during the concert, to feel free to provoke the maximum energy. It will be different, and since Molfetta will be at the sea it means that I will adapt to it"

The experience in X Factor ended. Now will you work only with music?

"The tour is a direct consequence of the fact that I do not make X Factor anymore. I always try things to make me afraid, because fear leads to creativity. I never want to be too comfortable. And I'm not a judge, but a musician who always tries a challenge".

    Fear of the tour, then?

"But no, nothing is ever enough to be afraid. Even a tour".

Thanks  a lot for posting, could anyone translate this interview ?
