Lunch is my favorite time of day! Some genius two years ago gave us an hour lunch, and we're allowed to go outside, so my friends and I lay on a purple bed sheet and 'study,' and usually end up talking about random stuff. I love it!
Classes, however... not so much. We had our first Calculus test yesterday and it was hard!!! I didn't do so badly on it, but now I'm scared. 10 months to go indeed!

School sucks indeed! I love seeing my friends every day, but I don't love the work that comes along with it! Sighs... At least there's Mika.
-
He's definitely both. His class is my favorite by far! Also because I like Latin .
Have you guys started school yet? I'm missing summer very much!
-
Hey! I'm from Austin also! I'm Superstar's sister, and just wanted to say hi!
I saw some of your posts on Mikagasmics yesterday: "Hello Muppets, I hope your tuesday was spifftastic" made me laugh so hard! That's also awesome that people thought Mika was your boyfriend!

Excellent. And I am glad that Mika is insane. Extremely kind, wonderful, and talented, but definitely crazy. What a man.
This guy is pretty insane in the first place. Sometimes he'll just tell us random stuff like "I am Frank Sinatra. I just got tired of being famous and faked my own death" or "Did you know that the word for Perfect in Spanish is Perfect-Lurfect? Everything in Spanish rhymes!" There's this one school that always beats us at Latin competitions, so he has a whole story about them. "St. Andrew's is the origin of AIDS. Be careful to never touch anything when you're there because you might get infected. The origin of Cancer is the St. Andrew's campus. That's the place where Eve was tempted by the serpent. And it's not even the garden of Eden!" It's kind of ridiculous, but it certainly makes us feel better when they've just beaten us

I'll take that as a compliment- thank you! . It's very interesting to compare my translation to the book version.
I'm pretty excited! Just wait until Mika sees us! He'll think we're even more insane! than he already does!
Aww, jerks! People down here aren't really used to driving in the snow or ice, so there are a lot more accidents even with a bit of the stuff, so I can understand why they would be oversensitive to calling off school if it ever does snow or something. Freakin' private schools... don't even get me started. Our Latin teacher has this whole spiel against one of them. It's kind of hilarious.

Haha! Nerds unite! I love it. That does sound interesting! I need to check out the platypus one also- that sounds excellent! I'm reading The Aeneid in English (and Latin, actually, but that's for school) right now, and it's pretty nice. Now I have something for when I finish!
Dude! That would be awesome! We could also get one of those things that you attach to the back of the plane and put banners on, and then print some lyrics on there and fly around with then. That would be marvelous. Cookies and a baseball bat! Ha!
Fascinating! We see the sun EVERY FREAKIN' DAY down here, so when it's totally overcast it's really fun! Snow is really nice, but that's even more rare down here. They usually call off school when it does snow, though, so we can make the most of it!

Exactly! Languages are just like species! I recently read a book about the origin of language (it was called "The First Word" and was really awesome if that's the kind of stuff you're interested in!), and it made lots of comparisons like that... Like, when a language goes extinct, we can never resurrect it! We'll never know what it sounded like! Knowing the Latin roots for words is really interesting, but even more interesting are the words that have nothing to do with any other language! Where did those come from? Did someone just make them up? Interesting stuff!
Hot damn? Ha!
That would be wonderful! I'd fly around in the spiffiest plane in the skies!
That's so wonderful! My favorite weather is when the sky is completely overcast with clouds, and it's really cold (so cold that nobody else eats lunch outside, so my best friend and I can dance around and act silly with nobody else around)... but, as you can imagine, that doesn't happen that much here in Texas

Haha! I love to learn grammar rules in other languages, but I have to work really hard on Vocabulary. But I think that's also interesting, so I spend plenty of time learning them!
Haha! I used to watch that show! But that would be amazing! People from other places are always interesting.
Yeah! That would be so fantastic! I'm also going to learn to be a pilot so I can fly myself places! Then, we could have an MFC road-trip, except, air-trip! That would be amazing!
Indeed! I love that! It hasn't rained for quite a long time, and everything is blowing about! It's delicious!

I am hesitant to say that I am a linguistic person, because I really like Latin, but I don't know whether it's just that, or all languages. That's why I'm learning Spanish right now- to see if I like it!
That would be so awesome! It would be fascinating to talk to people in totally different cultures without having to worry about the language barrier!
I know she lives here, but she hasn't been here for too long, right? We've been meaning to contact her and go eat lunch together or something! And it is indeed roasting- It's 100 degrees almost every day! But right now there is a thunderstorm! I love it!
I'm glad you liked it. It thought it was hilarious also

Mandarin??? That's so awesome! That's on my list of languages I'm going to learn after I finish Latin and Spanish. Along with Russian and Arabic.
I live in Austin, Texas! It's a great place

They have Latin class at my school! I originally signed up because it supposedly improves your SAT score, but now I've kept taking it because I love it so much! This year I'm taking AP to try to get college credit for it. Do they not have Latin at your school?
-
Linguam latinam loquor... pessime. (I speak Latin... very badly.) But I still love it! You should learn!
Spiffy gibberish . Thank you
-
Yes, I think it's very interesting! I love Latin, so everything associated with it is very interesting to me.
Thank you! To be honest, I picked it out a bunch of some random gibberish that was the product of my sister and I banging on the keyboard .

They're brilliant! My favorite one is the one of Mika with Spock's head on it. I saved it on my iPod, and my best friend and I giggle about it at lunch when we're looking through my other pictures of Mika .
