My mum bought me glasses like that two weeks ago and I was sooo embarassed to wear them!

  3. Nope, that sounds pretty good, you have the basic format correct. =]

To go a little more in-depth with the structure thing (I'm an English nerd...lol)

    Introduction:

    - Introduce the audience to the topic you're about to speak about

    - Include background information if necessary

    - Touch on your three (or however many body paragraphs you have) main points you're going to cover

    - Link to your first body paragraph at the end of the introduction

    Body paragraphs:

    - Include a topic sentence (Outline what the paragraph will be about) and a clincher sentence (A sentence at the end of the paragraph that sums up the content of said paragraph)

    - Work with one main point or topic per paragraph

    - Try to link the end of the previous paragraph with the beginning of the next

    Conclusion:

    - Sum up your body paragraphs (highlight the significant points)

    - Finish your speech with a memorable quote/phrase

Hope that helps. Good luck with your speech! =]

OH thank you thank you thank you!

Now all I need is to start it :roftl:

  4. Hello! Great thread!

I have to write a speech at English with a given quote.

I don't know much about how to make a speech.

I think the format for a speech is :

    1. an opening / introduction

    2. the body where the information is given

    3. ending

Am I right? What else do I need to know before writing a speech? :blush-anim-cl:

    Thank You!

EDIT: The quote I picked is "It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be." and I think I will make it about Mika :wub2:

  5. Oh, and I forgot to post my dress...

    Here it is...

And you are a sparklin' beauty in it :wub2::wub2: It fits you puuuurrrrrfect. :naughty:

    :huglove:

I wish I had a dress like that for my prom.

    EDIT: HAVE FUN!!!
