You know, Anne, I have been trying to ignore this little dig for a few days now because I don't want to start an argument with you, but every time I see it, it upsets me, so I do have to say something.

 

You do realize that loving someone unconditionally means loving them EVEN IF you disagree with them, EVEN IF they disappoint you sometimes, right? When you say that you love Mika unconditionally here, the implication is that anyone who disagrees with or disapproves of something he does doesn't love him, too. It implies that you love him *better* than I do. That's wrong, and I resent it.

 

The disappointment I feel at Mika's signing on to the Voice again DOES NOT equate to, "I don't love him any more." It simply means, "I wish he was not going to do the Voice again." Why can't I say that and not be told that I'm a bad fan, or that I love him less than you do? It's hurtful and moreover it's inaccurate.

 

I'm sorry if it upsets some fans when others don't approve of Mika's every breath, but that really does not mean that they don't care about what happens to him or have no right to express a dissenting opinion. It's not being negative, it's being honest. I wish that we could get over this. Saying that you adore every single thing Mika does or says does not make one a better fan than someone who expresses an opposing view now and then.

 

Sorry if it seems I'm singling you out, Anne -- you're not the only one who makes off-hand remarks like this. You all obviously don't realize it, but they are, as I said before, hurtful, and they do nothing to make the atmosphere for open conversation on these forums any better.

i'm sure Mika is well aware that a lot fans all over the world don't like him doing these shows, and he doesn't think them are any less a fan, than those who turn up at every gig/tv show at the drop of a hat, so why is it a problem for fans to accept their opinion?

i don't know if as the time draws near, if i will actually be excited to see Mika, if he had actually confirmed the voice a week earlier would i have booked a flight

SO was just wondering has everyone else booked flights and accommodation?

It's strange but it seems Mika being in L.A. is a bit of an anti climax now!

Wasn't there some interview a few weeks ago where he said he wouldn't do it? Or did i dream that?

What he says in the interview is that it was his French label that was pushing to get a 100% French album for November... I'm sure you'll agree that begining of 2015 with an English album sounds better, right?

Well most of us new it was never going to be November, no hope of any promo when he's still doing xcraptor, even more so if he does voice again

it was the same before he did XF but now France and Italy know he is still there.

Only through the fault of his record label, he had just done the most amazing NA tour, and he should have taken it around the world, then he wouldn't be in this situation now, having to resort to doing these shows, which cut him off from the most important thing, the rest of the world

Every time he announces another one of these shows, he pushes more fans away, and by fans I mean fans of Mika the singer songwriter, the reason why most of us have been here from the beginning, not the celebrity tv judge fans where most will be here today, and gone tomorrow when the next celebrity takes his place. That's taking into account that he's not going to make a career change and do these shows for the foreseeable future. But if Mika is happy just to have a career in 2 countries in Europe, then that's his choice.But we will all have to wait for this next announcement and see what happens, fingers crossed he won't disappoint his fans again. :crossed:
