I had the weird Mika dream that I've had in a while so I thought that maybe it was a sign that I needed to drop in and say hello since it's been ages.

I miss coming here but I'm STILL stuck in bed. If only I had a laptop I'd never leave... Oh well. Things here kind of suck, I'm 14 week along now (the ticker thingy down there is wrong, now I'm due August 11th) but it's kind of hard to be excited when my doctor continually reminds me that everything could go wrong at any moment. Still, I am trying to stay positive.

Back to my dream for a second, if Mika ever decides to fly to Sydney to film a video and gives us all 12 hours notice to get there if we want to be in it, someone please punch him for me because I won't be going. Stupid dream.

Anyhow, I hope everyone is well and all the other Victorians are safe from the fires. We've had a couple near us but they're out now thankfully. I hope everyone else and your families and friends are ok.

Yeah, there were a few others too, Ernie, Big Bird... Can't remember what else but I don't think they sold most of them here. I know I had to pay a ridiculous amount to get a Tickle Me Grover sent out from America... I don't know why I bothered. It's in a box in my storage shed now and will probably never see the light of day again.

Quite! The main problem is that it just makes everything take so much longer. Like it's taken me over an hour just to read the couple of pages I missed since yesterday, normally that would take about ten minutes max... Oh well. Must not complain!

Lol, actually even though I keep whining about it, I am actually kind of excited to have morning sickness. I didn't have it at all with my son. Same here... I love Ernie... I got Rock and Roll Ernie for my 16th birthday... I really should get some batteries and get him working again...

 

Though I don't think he plays the guitar very well anymore... Britt (my niece) used to make him play the guitar when she was little instead of letting him play himself..

I've also got Tickle Me Grover, Tickle Me Cookie Monster... In fact pretty much every 'Tickle Me" except Elmo. I went through a phase about 8 years ago where I bought up just about every Sesame Street and Dr. Seuss toy on Ebay

I never liked Anthony Morgan....don't know why.

Insanity cat just smashed my favourite Homer Simpson glass all over the kitchen floor, I've spent the last half an hour sweeping and vacuuming and going over the floor with wet newspaper. Anyone want a infuriatingly naughty but extremely adorable kitty for Christmas?

In the last 24 hours he has also climbed the Christmas tree, knocking it over in the process five times (and smashing two of my favourite ornaments)

Actually, I’m not sure why it had to be an owl. I just saw him and fell in love with him, then I decided that we should both have one but I’m the same as you, Etsy is just too expensive. In any case, I have come to the conclusion that as much as I love Hetty, I am going to have to part with him because I can’t find anything else anywhere near as cool to send her.

There is a music shop on Ebay that sells the deluxe version, that's where I got mine but it's not in shops yet... No idea if it ever will be...

I had a similar dream last night! Maybe our dreams are telling us something... In mine he announced that he was coming to Australia next September and was playing in Melbourne on the 1st.

I did see a very cute pom-pom scarf at the Oxfam shop that she'd love but I couldn't decide if giving a scarf as a present in Summer was wrong... Then I eventually decided that it didn't really matter because she would love it and by that time it was gone

Some advice pretty please!

 

OK so....I just got back from a week off sick and I was called into the big, big boss' office where she told me that my manager had told her that I was miserable and was going to leave when she returned from leave (which is true)....then she said they would like to offer me a position in a new project group setting up a new recruiting unit for unsworn staff....I will still get a little bit of IR work but mostly Policy and I will have to train people....that could be interesting

 

Pro: They're creating a new temporary position at a higher level

 

Con: I have to work with the worlds laziest man that I have filled in for several times and who keeps leaving things in an absolute mess when he goes on leave and they make me go in and fix it all!...on the brightside he has been told to pull his finger out!

 

Pro: They're going to make it permanent if the funding is available

 

Con: I have to work with the worlds laziest man naughty who we call Princess (he knows this and likes it btw)....I bought him a tiara at the show one year and now he wears it to Crown when we have lunches.....but at least I would be on the same level and so can tell him to go multiply himself! I like him on a personal level but professionally he wouldn't work in an iron lung and he makes me nuts.

 

Con: There is a chance I may kill him if I have to work with him.

I still haven't heard it either. I only logged onto myspace late Saturday night and found the blog saying it had been released and meant to get it when I was out yesterday, but things didn't turn out like that. And I knew I didn't have time to go and do it earlier today and then I promised my son we wouldn't be going to the shops this afternoon cos he had other stuff he needed to be at home for.

No, he was hand made so he's a one off. The only other toys they had were a sock monster who was quite cute but I wasn't about to pay $20 for a stuffed sock and there were a few other assorted animals but they were all ugly. I had a look on Etsy & there were a few similar looking owls but being Etsy, they were all about $8,000.

And I made cupcakes. It never occurred to me to take a picture though. It was DD3's Christmas breakup at playschool today, so I made green and red cupcakes. What flavour are your muffins? They look blueberry-ish to me.

But see, I enjoyed reading that. Cos I can relate. It helps to know you're not the only person whose child is a nudist. But I wouldn't go to a parenting site to hear this kind of stuff, cos I'd be afraid of running into "SuperMum!" Whereas, if I read it elsewhere, the person writing it comes across as a person who happens to be a mother and who has some challenges sometimes, as opposed to someone who is known as "A Mother!" and who only seems to live for their kids. Maybe it's just all about my perceptions... and guilt *shrugs*

Yeah, I suppose that's a good point. I somehow ended up reading some girl's blog this morning and she was just whining about how her dogs keep her up all night and jump all over her and steal her kid's food and I was like "OMG, I know exactly how you feel!!!" But if I wrote about the same thing, I'd think I was boring everyone to death.

I totally get you with avoiding the parenting forums too. I've found they are about the best way to make you feel like a complete failure as a parent. It's always like, Supermum: "Oh, my God... You let your child watch TV for half an hour while you do the house work? If I knew where you lived I'd call wefare!"
