  1. Two words: A-MAZING!

    BEAUTIFUL!!

    Thank you :wub2::wub2:

Not sure you like the first one? You kidding?? It's excellent (well in my opinion :naughty:). I really love it!!!!:wub2:

Well, I don't like that the edges of the window are still visible and I got annoyed with it because I couldn't crop them out :naughty:

Apart from that I like it.

    That's really a great picture!

Thanks, so are yours. I love the one with the top of the horses head in it. So pretty. :thumb_yello:

  2. I had seen squirrels in Portugal, but I never saw one like I saw in London.

He looked like a dog, because he didn’t felt fear of people, by the way he came near me and tried to smell my hand because he was looking for food, but I was afraid that he only wanted to bite me!

Oh that's what the possums are like here. Whenever they see people they'll run to the closest tree branch hoping for food but I'm always scared that they're going to jump down on my head and claw my eyes out :roftl:

So photos... I've been out in the garden (and taking the usual kitty photos)

Not sure if I like the first one or not but it looks kind of cool.

  3. welcome but, you're older than me

yeah, I felt like a stranger here but now It goes disappearing. For a few moments I don't know what to say, I have a bit of fear, or maybe I'm a bit shy as well

Welcome to you too then :wink2:

I think it is easy to feel a bit like a stranger at first but it's good once you get settled in :thumb_yello:

    Hi Pam

Welcome to the MFC where we're all crazy but full of love :

Your cat is georgous and I love him even more for his name!♥

Hope you enjoy it here and aren't too afraid!

    Hi! :bye:

Thank you! As soon as I saw him I knew that had to be his name. It suits him completely... Even though he can't hear me so I could really call him anything and he wouldn't care :naughty:

Nope, I'm not afraid, I'm good now. Just takes a while to get the hang of everything :thumb_yello:

How did I miss this thread until now?????

Even though I've welcomed you already, welcome to the madness!!!

Awwwwww... your kitty is gorgeous! Love his eyes...

lol, you've welcomed me plenty already :bleh:

But.. y'know, I'll always take some more :wub2:

  4.

    Another lazy girl :thumb_yello:

    Oh, I like your son!!!!

    Oh yes, the laziest!

    :roftl: You want him?

Okay, another one. Shortly after my dad went on holiday I decided it would be a good idea to have a go on his treadmill, accompanied by some music. All was going reasonably well (on something like setting number 2 :naughty:) until mid Generator by the Holloways (a particularly cheerful tune) I was gripped by the sudden urge to attempt a treadmill-pirouette, attempted a treadmill-pirouette, failed miserably at my attempted-treadmill-pirouette, grasped desperately at anything I could reach and pulled over the ironing board initiating a cascade of events resulting in a glass of water shattering throughout the living room and kitchen. And I still landed on my arse.

    :jawdrop::roftl:

Treadmill accidents are never pretty. A while back the husband was on ours and I decided to go and feed the cat. I had been at the computer and the treadmill was blocking where I had to walk but instead of jumping over it, I stepped on it without thinking (obviously) and was catapulted head first across the room into the bookshelf which shocked Daniel who then went flying off the back of it into the wall.

    Those things are dangerous :naughty:

  5. I think need to take back all my nay-saying about the Diva $5 sales. I got all this stuff yesterday for $12, most of it was only $2 or $3. Woo hoo!

    diva-1.jpg

Although looking at that photo does make me wonder if it's time that I started wearing "grown up" jewellery...

That's gotta suck. You don't have much luck around there

I have no idea, tbh. I googled and found smth called "Runaway" that was recommended. Maybe we have it here, maybe we don't.. I haven't heard of it though. I also saw a page that recommends two teaspoons of vinegar in one litre of warm water. *shrug*

No, I really haven't had a lot of luck lately. He's usually well behaved, really! Just the last few weeks he's discovered how much fun it is to make Mummy's life as difficult as possible :crybaby:

I haven't heard of runaway either... I'll give the vinegar a try. Thanks :huglove:

Congrats on the 11,000 posts! :punk:

True. It wasn't the most amazing movie ever. But in 45 minute Xena version, it's damn good. *is biased*

I've not seen the episode but I do not doubt you for a second. That movie was a disaster. It's the only movie I have ever walked out on and I even managed to sit through the entire Tim Burton version of Planet of the Apes (what was he thinking?). I think I lasted about 20 minutes before deciding that I'd rather peel my toenails off with rusty tweezers than waste another 70 minutes of my life watching such crap.

I've heard of Runaway... it's usually used to stop colours running in the wash...

I got all excited for a second but I don't think stopping colours from running is going to help me :crybaby:

...Although it does give me an idea. My Mum was in America earlier in the year and she brought me back these little tissue like things that you put in the washing machine to soak up excess dye from clothes. Maybe if I wet the carpet and blot it with one of those it would soak it up. Maybe...

Oh well, it's something to try if the vinegar doesn't work.

Ooh! I saw Tim on TV last night! I was so excited that I kept yelling out to the husband "Look Tim's of TV!! LOOOOOK!" Of course, by the time he paid any attention to me, Tim wasn't on anymore and I'd missed what he was talking about :blush-anim-cl: He was on that show Bert Newton hosts on channel 9.

  6. I'm too tired to read back more than two pages...

Does anyone know how to get black paint out of carpet? My lovely child decided to imitate Pro-Hart yesterday which was really very thoughtful and creative of him :mf_rosetinted: It's water based so I scrubbed it with soap and water but that just spread it around. Then I tried Preen Powershot which was only slightly more successful. I don't know what else to do :crybaby:

No such thing as too much Andy!....and thank your lucky stars I didn't post the one of Hamish naked and covered in chips

Oh, those are chips! For some reason I thought they were covered in some sort of gold leafing and I couldn't figure out why

If the frame's not too badly damaged then you might be able to get it fixed... otherwise, you should be able to get a frame made that looks practically the same.. I don't know if your mum would be able to tell the difference...

Yeah, I guess so. I don't know if there is any damage to the actual frame. It might just be the glass that needs replacing. I'm not too sure. I avoid looking at it whenever I go to the wardrobe because it makes me feel so guilty.

Did anyone pick up that Miss Congeniality is basically the same storyline?

Maybe they thought no one would notice since it's near impossible to sit through Miss Congeniality without gouging your eyes out through sheer boredom :bleh:

  7.

:naughty: Damn good idea! Mildura *gigglesnort*

Torana too big? Must've been an LH or LX? I had an LX and it was bronze, or "baby poo brown" as a friend described it one day (not long after his gf had their first baby). I always wanted to paint it purple but never got around to it. Was the Corolla reliable? The 'rana (:naughty:) would run on the smell of an oily rag. (that was my brothers way of convincing me to buy it)

I think it was an LX but I never thought it was all that big, especially considering that I was taught to drive in a 1977 Ford Falcon which was enormous in comparison. Still, I had no complaints with the Corolla, it's probably still my favourite out of all the cars I've had. It just wouldn't die but it eventually got to the point where it couldn't go up a hill faster than 20km an hour so I thought it was time to retire it. That was only about 5 years ago though so it did quite well. Then I got the Laser which was nothing but trouble and now I have my Magna which is ok, even if it is full of dents and scratches :naughty:

Ooooooooh... that's not good... Has the artwork been damaged?

Thankfully not. I really need to take it in to be re-framed but I'm worried that they won't be able to do it exactly the same way and then I'd have to tell my Mum. I'm not so concerned that she's be pissed off at me (although she would), I'm more concerned that she'll just be devastated, she has a hard enough time dealing with anything related to my brother as it is. But yeah, I guess it could have been much worse if the glass had ripped the art.

Of course... I should be grateful it even exists :naughty:

I think so too... I think Tim tends to write very sexualised stuff... Paul's very dark and sinister... Richard's the communist...

That's the way I see it anyways...

    :roftl: Yes, you ungrateful wench.

Yes! The communist stuff! I always wondered who drew that.

I also could never figure out what Richard drew.

    I just never put 2 + 2 together.

    You're clever :thumb_yello:

Yeah, I did... I like the Tim one... and obviously like the skeleton one too... I'm gonna fix them up a little bit when I get a chance...

Cool. What program did you make them with?

I actually had mixed feelings when the time came. I was happy that Wes had won, but I guess I figured that if Luke had won, Wes was still guaranteed a career anyhow, cos he's just bloody good. But I wondered what Luke would do with himself now...

He should do alright. If past years are anything to go by, the runner up usually does better than the winner. Except maybe last year but I can't even remember who the winner or the runner up was for that one.

  8. Bugger, I didn't click on the right quote and now I can't remember which one it was.....so I'll just say Hi!

    :naughty:

    Hi!

My body is a temple, it's a sacred site

She's chanting mantras she's a loser lost in space space space

She's jacked into the junk she's got a velvet head

She's not high on life she's off her face face face

I say no more - "Alice when she's ten foot tall"

No more - "Blowin' in the wind" or "I shall be released"

No more - I got this headache, honey what's the use?

I'm gonna get a gun and make my own kinda fun

I wanna spill the blood of a hippy

I'm eager to stone a stoned child from the 60's

I wanna switchblade to cut their lovebeads

An enema, not love. That's what the world needs now.

    dance010.gif

I found the Flacco & Bob poem! I knew it was in my book somewhere...

When I was young I had a passion

I had a gun, I went looking for action

I'd stare at the mirror for hours on end

I stood in McDonalds and tried to make friends

Where I'd tell stories and listen intently

I put in my order and counted to twenty

While the world outside was falling away

Got up to nineteen and I made her pay

    My eyelids grew heavy

    My french fries weren't ready

As the voice cast it's spell

    That night I slept well.

Here are my DAAS related moving pics...

They're not great, but I like them and they worked well...

The skeleton... much better than Gray Skelly *hmph*...

    Did you make them?

    They're good :thumb_yello:

And random question time: How can I get the residue from the ridiculous stickers Dirt Cheap CDs puts on their cases off?

    Without stuffing up the case?

Its those crazy metal-type stickers and it leaves a horrible square on the back. It won't budge to nail scraping or alcohol wipes :crybaby:

You can buy this stuff... It gets that sort of thing off. I know, that is not particularly helpful but I can't remember what it's called. Big Kev used to have one which I think was called "Goo Remover" but seeing as he is dead, you probably can't get that one anymore. There are other brands though. Or you could try orange oil, it think that is the main ingredient of the goo remover type things anyway.

  9. Oh, I am so happy. I just worked out how the MQ button works!! Hooray!

    Yes, I am quite slow.

Chickadee, zoidy - your engagement/wedding ring stories sound like mine.

I was 22 years old and a full-time university student when I wed too. Shotgun too - with a surprise that is now playing the x-box downstairs in the basement.. We went to the jewellery store to buy a diamond ring and realized we really didn't have a budget for one. Not having much experience with jewellery, I chose the smaller diamond because I really didn't care too much for a large one, and couldn't fathom spending so much for such a thing!

I've since had it "upgraded" on our 10th Anniversary. (Didn't actually "upgrade" as I still have the first one - just got another one a little bigger.)

But before my grandmother died, she passed on a solitaire diamond ring to my mom who then passed it on to me, after my grandmother passed away. I too, like you zoidy, have tiny hands - I looked down one day to discover my grandmother's ring was gone. I was devastated. I bought a cubic zirconia off an infomercial one night and passed it off as my grandmother's ring for years before I could tell my mother what really happened. It still makes me sad to think about it today.

I know exactly how you feel. Just writing about that ring yesterday made me feel so bad and it has been years.... I also have a similar issue with my mother and I still haven't told her. My brother won a drawing contest when he was 18 and part of the prize was having his artwork professionally framed. After he died my Mum let me have it. When we moved into this house about 3 years ago, I put it between the couch and the wall until I got around to putting it up but one day my husband was vacuuming and forgot it was there and pushed the couch against the wall which smashed it. It's been sitting in my wardrobe since it happened and I've been hoping ever since that she never asks to see it. Oooh, now I feel even worse than I did writing about the ring! :crybaby:

    Gosh, that's awful!

I actually have the opposite problem with my hands. They're small, with short but thick and stubby fingers, and I had to have Nanna's ring resized bigger to fit me.

I did lose a ring, but it wasn't my engagement ring thankfully.

We went hiking when my son was little, and my hands had swollen a bit with the heat and my wedding ring was cutting in, so I took it off and put it on my little finger on my opposite hand. When we sat down to eat lunch, there were all these flies swarming around, particularly around my son. So that he could eat, and not inhale one, I was flapping my hands around "shooing" the flies away when my wedding ring went flying off.... down the mountain.

So there's me, clambering down the mountain looking for it! I climbed down for several minutes with no luck, and I decided I was just going to have to give up and climb back up. I was crying and praying and then.... about half way back up.... I FOUND IT!!!! I just saw this glint of gold amongst the green and brown. You can imagine my incredible sense of relief.

 I can image how awful you would have felt seeing it flying off like that. It was so lucky that you saw it! It would have been terrible to have to go home without finding it. Last new years eve, I was at this park with some friends and we were all rolling down this big hill because... I don't know why actually.... But one of my friend somehow lost a jade pendant that her Grandmother had given her and we spent about two hours crawling around in the dark looking for it and then went back the next day for another couple of hours but we never found it. Probably didn't help that it was the same colour as the grass.

It really must be a pregnancy thing.

I was four months pregnant and it was my wedding day and I was on my way back from the hairdressers, so I had my hair all up and a wreath in it, and the girl in the car in front that I hit was 7 months pregnant. She started getting hysterical as it was the second accident she'd been in in a couple of months and went off to the nearest hospital to be checked out... which happened to be the hospital I worked at, so when I got back to my flat I called up the maternity dept. One of the casuals answered the phone and it was a woman I knew and I'm like "Hey there, have you just had a girl come in who's just been in a car accident? Yeah, well, I hit her. How is she?"

And the whole time I didn't cry, cos I was afraid it would wreck my makeup! The worst of it was, I was driving my fiance's car, and it was the one we were supposed to be taking on our honeymoon, and we had to have a slight change of our plans...

Oh no! That's awful. At least you were both alright but wow... Perhaps pregnant women just shouldn't drive! :roftl:

Of course not, you'd never be sarcastic. I did a rewrite of Rain the other day after watching PDP.

    That's so mean but :lmao:

That would make sense, but I'm sure we all get that Mika generally doesn't make sense...

have you seen the Aussie Mikasounds site?

Can anyone pick what's wrong with it?

    Oh, and this... http://www.mikasounds.com.au/mikaintown.html

    Oh yeah... Good point.

    And what's the problem? It's still 2007, isn't it? :blush-anim-cl:

You can tell the second one is Paul's... it's kinda weird...

That and I recognise his writing

I'm useless at picking who drew what. I always had the feeling that the Happy Mr. Wasp one had a bit of a Tim feel about it but I base that on nothing at all so I am most likely entirely wrong.

She kept reminding me for years how I irresponsible I was with it. I don't think she's mentioned it for about half a year now. I hope I haven't just jinxed myself.

That often? Poor you, no wonder you still feel bad. It was just an accident. :(

It was the car I learnt to drive in.

All I can say is I'm a good driver. Now.

I smashed the passenger door into a concrete pole in a whirly multi-story car park by turning too sharply. Other than that it was little accidents. I wasn't a good driver until I got to "Cut loose" (a bogan term) in it. Taught by bogans no less. They really are the people to go to when you suck at driving.

:roftl: Cool, perhaps I should send the husband back to one of his home towns (Port Augusta & Mildura) and have his old friends give hims some lessons to save my poor car anymore damage.

I always wanted a Torana for my first car. A girl that lived in my street had a light green one and I was in love with it but my Mum insisted they were too big so I ended up with a 1975 yellow Corolla. I also loved that but I never quite got over my Torana envy.

  10. And I thought I'd post this for CD and Pammy...

Here's the story (okay, comic) of Ugly Boy Gregory...

    Cool. :wub2:

And a couple for you, except I don't have comics, only pictures.

    DAAS3.jpg

    Is it aussie version?

I looked in JB again today and they still had only normal

Yep... Well, it's region free so technically not but it'll work on our players.

I look in JB every time I'm there but too but it's been out so long that I doubt they'll get them now.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! I have a keyboard from when I was going to be a famous musician and rollerblades from when i was going to be a pro skater. And art? Hmm, well I have about 8 unfinished cross stitches, a quarter of a knitted jumper sleave, 3 1/8th finished jellyfish necklaces .. and god knows what else.

Oh yeah, I have cross stitches too! And long stitches and a bag full of embroidery cotton because I was going to make a whole lot of those knotted friendship bracelet thingies but I got about a quarter through one and lost interest.

What's a jellyfish necklace? That sounds like something I could make into my next unfinished project...

Frank is actually made of genius. And Hamish's face is classic.

    :naughty:

    Frank is made of insanity.

I know the guy who did the music for Lano & Woodley's TV show, he told me one time that he and Frank used to spend weekend's wandering around his house bashing their heads into doors and walls because they liked the noise it made. Freaks. :roftl:

  11.

Interesting to know... When I got (hubby to get) mine on the weekend, there were no hardcover ones in JB Hi-Fi. But I didn't mind. They also had LiveICM out really cheap, but not LICM.

I've never seen the hardcover one anywhere... That's why I resorted to ebay, although now that I think about it, it possibly would have been cheaper just to ask JB if they could order it in. Damn my impulsive shopping habits.

Hahaha. Actually, my hubby can't do that to me, cos he didn't buy my engagement ring. Mine was kind of a shotgun wedding and we had no money, and so my Nanna gave me her ring. It's gorgeous and probably an antique now, and I never would have gotten anything like it in the jewellery shops of the day. I did get a ring for our first wedding anniversary and I got a necklace once.... *tries to think if there has been anything else significant* *decides there hasn't really been* And I also have a preference for cheap crappy jewellery and I buy it myself... and then I don't wear it. I just don't remember unless I make a conscious effort to remember.

Oh, that reminds me of my original engagement ring story. We were pretty broke when we got engaged too so he gave me his mother's engagement ring which, along with her wedding ring were about her only possessions that he managed to get from her boyfriend after she died. So it was this beautiful antique diamond and diamond ring but because I have midget hands it was way too big and I always meant to get it resized but I like procrastinating. Then one day I looked down and it was gone. I felt so guilty about it, that I wouldn't even let me get another engagement ring until last year. I still feel guilty even though it happened at least seven years ago. Doesn't help that he rubs it it at every opportunity either, although he was surprisingly understanding about the whole thing and only rubs it in to annoy me. :blush-anim-cl:

I have ooooooodles of stamping gear, but I do actually do it from time to time. And I used to make paper, so I have all the equipment for that, but I haven't done it in about 8 years. I have a soap making kit I've never used, I have a flower press I've never used, I have a keyboard I never play (but that's really only cos I can't find the cord for it. It's in a box somewhere!) and I STILL have Mouselle's guitar, which I haven't tried playing for ages, and which I need to return to her. But she's never here anymore.

lol, I've always intended to get stamping equipment but I get put off because it's all so expensive and knowing my track record with those things I'd use it a couple of times and then it would get chucked in the cupboard along with the equipment from all my other brief passions :naughty:

I do however also have a flower press, guitar, keyboard and also an mbira (weird african instrument) none of which ever get used. Oh an a pasta maker... Somewhere.

It's already on youtube. Hubby got it yesterday morning cos we both went on Monday night "Ah! We really need to get that!!!"

    :woot_jump:

Well I know where I'm going when I've finished here then.

We all would like more... after all, he's been shunning us... I realistically don't see him doing any more than maybe 3... and even 3 might be pushing it..

But if it's such a hassle for him to come here at all, wouldn't it make more sense to make it worth it by playing more, like at least one in each capital city and maybe two in Melbourne & Sydney, rather than coming all the way down here and only doing a couple. Then again, he did say short so that's really just wishful thinking. Not that he will include us at all anyway :(

My sister flipped her car boot over bonnet 3 times... while 7 months preggers... not a single scratch...

Though the cops were worried that there was someone else in the car, cause there was a dummy head down the road... it was the head she practices on for hairdressing!

    :roftl:

    Poor dummy.

It must be a pregnancy thing. I think I was about six months pregnant when I did it too.

    OMG! I'd freak out!

The worse damage I've done to a car was in my Torana.

I did freak out. I didn't know what to do so I kept driving even though I obviously couldn't see anything and just kept saying "I can't see! What should I do? I can't see anything!"

Somehow I eventually managed to stop without hitting anyone or causing any other accidents. And I never ever want to drive a Laser again. I'm fully aware that it was my own fault but it's much easier to blame the car and that car sucked anyway :naughty:

    What happened to your Torana?

  12. Don't know Zoidberg, but I see that your user name clearly reclects your passion! ..

I have two guinea pigs, they're so cute:bleh::wub2:

And the character limit thingy, both for user titles and signatures, can be annoying, I agree:thumbdown:

He's a big stinky space lobster.

    zoidberg.jpg

Possibly not the most flattering thing to name myself after now that I think about it :naughty:

I love guinea pigs, they are so adorable but they're one of the few pets I've never had :( I might put it to the husband that we should get one. I always thought that my cat would eat it but I recently discovered that they grow too big for that and now I can't stop thinking about how much I want one!

  13. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Yes, we must be related.

I already, just looking at the picture and noticing the backwards zip, decided how I would fix it. You should be able to open the metal loop holding the zip onto the bracelet, with a small pair of scissors/pliers, and turn it around and close it again. I think.

Well, I tried opening the link with a pair of tweezers but it appears to be soldered which is a huge pain... I'm hoping that maybe it isn't and I just couldn't open it because the tweezers weren't strong enough. I'll try it with pliers later and see if I have more luck. It is really, really getting on my nerves. I have to do something about it! :hair:

Yeah, I saw them in November 2005 (I have a feeling it was around the 17th... it was a Thursday anyways)... I got the ticket for it for my birthday from my friends, and I got the Gud CD for Christmas and Paul signed it! :FG:... I told him it was for me, and he made some sort of smart arse comment... iwish I could remember it though! Oooooooh! We got a pic with him too, but I can't remember where the picture is!

I really shouldn't laugh at his reversing skills... I reversed into a tree last week (and only peeled the paint off the back bumper!), I reversed into a pole when I was on my p's test, and reversed into a pole in my brother's car the day after the Mika concert...

I also reversed into a wheelbarrow, but that wasn't my fault, cause Dad didn't put the wheelbarrow away!

Now I'm even more jealous. Signed Gud CD  Lucky you :thumb_yello:

lol, I have had a few reversing incidents myself. Once I reversed into metal pole in the 7-11 car park and I hit a wooden stump a few times when I was getting used to our drive way when we first moved here. Luckily, I never caused much damage. It just seems that whenever Daniel gets in the car I need to get used to a new dent or scratch or loss of paint. The upside is that at this point there are so many dents in the car that one more doesn't seem to make any difference :naughty: Although... I just remembered, I did cause worse damage to my last car than he has ever done to the current one. I didn't clip the bonnet down properly and I was driving down the road, going 80km an hour and the bonnet flipped up and smashed through the windscreen :roftl:

It didn't seem nearly as funny at the time.

The Diana joke came when Fiona O'Loghlin went to lay on the couch, and she did it in a really spastic way and was laying funny... Paul said she looked like Diana in the car...

lol, that is a bit naughty but :roftl:

    I can't believe I missed Paul singing...

I'll have to try and get a podcast of it or something.

Ugh... I will have to skip the last few pages for now. My fabulous son just gave me a cup of "coffee". Usually that just means a cup of water. So I drank it and then realised that it was indeed water but this time it was dirty, soapy washing up water. I'm off to puke now :puking:
