  1.

Oh yes, we've defo got a Hanson thread...

It's interesting that some people don't like the newer stuff.. Underneath would have to be my fave album, and it was the album that got me interested in Hanson again...

Me too! Most other Hanson fans I've talked to seem to hate Underneath and love the stuff that I don't like...

  2. i know right, i only joined a few weeks ago and was pretty surprised to find the thread since i didn't think a lot of Mika fans would like Hanson

and a lot of people that didn't like the last two albums seem to feel like that, i really haven't heard a lot of people say they don't like the song.. which is good:)

and neeve272, that video is hilarious! i burst out laughing the first time i watched it.

Yeah, this song is a bit different from the typical newish Hanson songs... The music video has probably made it even more popular though

  3. Hi

I started looking through the pages here trying to find a Hanson thread, only to finally find it on the first page (when I realised I could search). :D

I actually like TBS (and love the video) even though I haven't been very impressed by most of the new stuff

  4. so i wrote this long report, and somehow managed to delete it, so for now thiss will be short and mostly in key words.

Yesterday - broke my elbow, sprained my wrist. wasn't sure if i could go to the show because of pain, but i was a bit better this morning.

Seats - balcony. i could see the stage the whole time. it was a bit dead up there in the beginning, but everybody got up during love today.

songs - dont remember the setlist. over my shoulder was beautiful. he messed up the beginning og sitm again, funny.

mika - amazing. spoke a bit norwegian during the show, which was fun. looks like he got a few new dance moves like the tap dancing on the piano... boyfriend called his dancing 'unique and original'. he laughed a lot, especially when the big girl foot went a bit out of control.

ending was perfect, even though it was sad that it was over. i really wanted to meet mika and the band after the show, so we went back inside to see if i could find some mfcers... easier said than done when you havent met any of them before, so we ended up going home. :(

sorry about the spelling and all, but my left hand is not very good at typing

  5. Can anyone tell me if there's any significant snow on the ground in Oslo right now? Or if you're expecting any between now and the gig?

I'm starting to pack, and have no idea what to wear. :blush-anim-cl:

It doesn't look like it will snow before the show, and it's supposed to be between 0 and 5 degrees all week. It gets pretty cold at night though...

  7. Thank you so much!!! :cheerful_h4h:

I have a new problem with the payment process (with visa)...they ask me an identity confirmation by a code given by my bank in order to secure e-shopping. So my bank had to send me via my cell a code but the site doesn't recognize it : the same message "An error occurred when you tried to authenticate yourself. Please try again or choose another method of payment.":boxed: A friend of mine had the same problem though we enter the right code each time...I don't understand why it doesn't work...Sorry for all of this...

hmmm... I didn't have to get a code from the bank when I bought the tickets. We use the 'verified by visa'-thing where we have to enter our 'bank-id' information that works as identity confirmation.

Can you call the bank again and ask them how to fix it? Or maybe some of the non-norwegians who have bought tickets know how to do it....

  8. So finally, I've decided myself to go to this concert for my birthday :roftl: it's a little crazy but sooo tempting!!:teehee:

But I have to admit that I have some logistic problems so if a person can help me, it would be a high relief for me!!

I haven't paid my tickets yet and I have some difficulties to choice between the two différent propositions on http://www.billettservice.no

Actually I don't see the différence between 18 ÅRSGRENSE OR FRI ALDERSGRENSE:blink:

Best available or general admission? And if it's general admission, is it section : best available or UNU? :dunno:

'18 års grense' is up on the balcony and only for people over 18, so I'm assuming that they will serve alcohol there. 'Fri aldersgrense' means 'all ages', so if you want a chance to be close to the stage, you will have to buy these tickets.

I picked best available, but I don't think there are any sections or assigned areas...

  9. I'm with Freddie on this one- atheism isn't any more logical or obvious than religious faith- in my opinion it takes a large amount of credulity to believe the world "just happened"- I find atheists insistance that theirs is not a position of faith quite irritating- of course it is!

Compare it to believing in Santa Clause: believing that he exists and delivers presents to all the children in the world is here faith. Not believing that he exists is the absence of that faith. There is nothing supernatural or dogmatic, in my non-belief in Santa Clause.

And the only thing we atheists definitely have in common is the absence of a belief in any god. Some people might believe that the world "just happened", other people might believe something different, and I'm sure many atheists don't even have a clear opinion about how this happened at all.

anyway, why do you find it irritating?

  10. I find this new Blasphemy law in Ireland disturbing - it plays into the hands of fanatics who choose to be offended at the slightest criticism of religion. I hope that the Irish atheists can succeed in making their objective to get it repealed. I triedthe link to their website, but it doesn't seem to be available  Have they been gagged already? or just overwhelmed by the number of hits to their site?

We had a dead/sleeping blasphemy law a little while ago. They wanted to revive it, but I think they ended up just removing the whole thing...

I do think that stuff like that Muhammed drawings were completely unnecessary and disrespectful, but I don't think it should be illegal.

  11. I've played piano since I was 5 years old. My dad is a jazz pianist and he started teaching me the moment i showed some interest in it... and I suck at it. I can't read sheet music and I'm bad at improvising, so I normally spend hours learning one simple song. I've basically given up.

As for celebrating christmas - it has traditions dating way back before Christianity hikacked it. There will always need to be festivities in the middle of winter in the northern hemisphere - it's the only way to cope with all that darkness and bad weather :thumb_yello:

Exactly. Lots of older cultures celebrated some from of new year's celebration around this time of year, and to put christmas around the same time eased the transition from their religion to christianity. I just read an article about christmas traditions here and it's relationship to christianity, and apparently people were still drinking to the god Odin during christmas/yule a couple of hundred years after the first attempt to christen the country.
