  1. Home from Montreal, what a whirlwind 36 hour vacation. It went way beyond my expections. Now that I see my photos on my home computer the pictures are more blurry than on my iPhone ....HOWEVER....... i was able to find one epic picture of MIKA defying gravity!!!!!
  2. Everyone said it was almost identical but he did not sing Good Wife Unfortunately he did not have time to pose for pictures afterwards but after a very long wait he signed many autographs including my Next magazine
  3. I still can feel the energy running through my veins from last nights show. Where can I start other than Mika is beyond human. His intensity and facial expressions as he interprets every lyric.......sorry.....I'm just awe struck. So nice to meet everyone from MikaFanClub. I was so nervous to take pictures at the beginning. I have some short video clips I will post when I return to Chicago....till then I will relive this night forever in my head ????
  4. I got my fix of poutine. Went past the venue to familiarize myself caught some cool jazz bands at the festival. I am sooooooooooooooooo ready for my long awaited concert!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Thanks....merci, cathouzouf! Do you know how this venue is with cameras? Should I risk bringing one in to the show? Also, are there any restaurants that serve poutine near Place des Arts? I've only had it at Harvey's in Toronto and Windsor and it sure is delicious
  6. I had hoped when Mika added his US shows in May that one date would be in Chicago, but no I already had a long awaited vacation in New York City starting May 13th, alas 10 days too late and unable to change my travel plans. Over TWO years is too long to go without a Chicago Mika show.......so I found on the Place Des Arts website that some seats were available for the Sunday 2nd show, I decided to make the trek, also secretly I have always wanted to see Mika perform in a faraway locale (O.K. Montreal is only 850 miles from Chicago) but with the French speaking Quebec i'll feel like I am in a crowded Parisian concert hall and have MIka sing Elle Me Dit and Boum, Boum, Boum and do some French banter in between songs which of course I won't understand, but I'll nod my head and chuckle unknowingly with the crowd. French is the language of love and I love Mika speaking (and singing) in any language that is foreign to me! Bienvenue Canada and Mika in 9 days
  7. same here, & I truly was surprised. Loved the venue, so intimate & great acoustics, interesting that he planted two microphones in the audience so he could hear the crowd. Glad I was on the right side, Mika apologized to the people on the left who only saw the back of his hat/head for most of the show. I enjoy his talk about shredding the piano & it sounded like his piano from church and he talked about the alchoholic woman who played the hymns. It was so sweet hearing hearing his superb voice that needs no over-amplification & just showcases his pure & beautiful skills. Bravo, Mika:clap:
  8. I have no words to express how I feel, but this emoticon will do quite nicely until I can find some I cried 3 years ago when I couldn't attend his Chicago Riviera Theatre concert due to extreme illness. Thursday evening's show at the Vic all made up for it. We missed the opening act The Dolls, but came with a few minutes to spare & then the most INCREDIBLE 1 3/4 hours happened before us. Mika has so much energy! Seeing the show & the enthusiastic audience beam out all his lyrics and jump on command etc.....so much positive energy....did not want the night to end. Thanks everyone for posting all the pics and links to great videos. that one guy Edwin filmed most of the show (which helps because from the back it was hard to catch Mika's banter in between the songs). Chimacuito, your Peruvian hat that you gave Mika was awesome. Glad he kept putting in back on throughout the show! I'm still on a MIKA high......and the day just got better.....the postman just brought a large package to the front door & I got a SIGNED CD booklet from MikaSounds!!! Oh happy day!!!
  9. Hello! My entrance into this forum is bittersweet because I had tickets for Mika's Chicago show at the Riviera Theatre, but I have had the flu (swine or otherwise) for the last 9 days and soooooooooooooooo wanted to go to the show, even though I was coughing up both lungs and other internal organs. I sadly, somberly coughed myself to sleep last Tuesday, but was happily awoken to find many videos of the show posted on YouTube and found wonderful accounts/pictures on your fan forum. So I was able to relive the missed opportunity. I so enjoy everyone's accounts of meeting Mika, can this man ever not take a good photograph? Keep up the good work on this awesome website! Cheers, Mocha
