  2. Hello! I am in a hurry so I don't have time to do a full translation, but I wanted to translate a few bits that I found more interesting, I'll just summarize the other parts!

At the beginning he talks about him learning Italian, the interviewer says he has been very professional, and he said that back then everyone, his management included, laughed at him and was against it and thought it was impossible to do, but he wanted to do it because it was a strange, different thing, so he learned Italian in about two months, on tour, with his Sicilian teacher.

He also said that it would have been much more difficult if he hadn't known French, and if he hadn't studied at school some Latin; he says that back then he thought it was useless but now he is realizing that it has helped him a lot. (Lol, as a student of classical humanities myself, I would have never thought I would hear a popstar praising Latin, thank you Mika!!). Then he says he has forgotten his Spanish, and about the confusion with languages.

Then the interviewer says that XF, and also the fact that he speaks Italian, has led a lot of more people to get to know his music; so he talks about television, and how making popular television, in every country, allows him to make all the albums he wants with a complete freedom, and he defines his music as alternative pop, a strange combination.

Then the interviewer said that before knowing him also as a person on XF she thought he was a little bit posh, and I found his answer interesting, so I'll translate it!

M: I like absurdity, my music can only come from a happiness that comes from an absurdity. In life, I like all the absurd things, for me this is the most important thing, to have a bit of absurdity in normal life. That's why I like Morgan, I like the caricature of Simona (I think he wants to say character, but I'm not sure), I like the ironical side of Elio for example, all of this is absurd, but at the same time it is sincere, and this is the thing I like the most, because from absurdity comes tolerance, and from tolerance comes happiness.

Then the interviewer says it is a speech that reveals his openmindness and they talk about his early life, and the many slammed doors he has received in the music industry, that's why, the interviewer says, he is always so sympathetic to the rejected contestants; he also says that he wanted to make music in his own style and that it wasn't easy back then and that even nowadays it's not easy for him to do the things he likes doing.

Then they talk about his beginning on MySpace and internet, that he finds essential to music and that is changing the music industry; it has brought some problems but also has offered much more freedom.

Then they talk about the new version of Sturdust with Chiara, that he really likes because it is different and she asks if he has abandoned the electronic scene, so he talks a bit about his next album, I'll translate this:

M: Yes for my new album I'm doing I have abandoned electronic music, completely. I don't want to do electronic music on this new album. But at the same time I've written to Alessandro Benassi asking him if he had a musical base I could use to inspire myself to write a song, just like I did with Stardust. So he gave me a demo and I wrote a song on that demo. I want to write in all the ways I can, but then, for the production, I don't want to do EDM. But that doesn't mean I can't work with Benny Benassi, but with the production it is a different thing. But tonight I'm doing with Chiara a version that I like a lot (he will sing it live tonight on XF, it is already on top of the Italian charts), and I'm very happy because this shows that songs are songs: I can completely change the production and the song survives.

Then he says he doesn't like to call his SongBook a “best of”, because that'd imply it is a final period, while it is a pause before the fourth album that he is doing now for next year. Then he reads Chiara's tweets live.

Then he talks about Italy in answer to a question asking him what he will keep the most of Italy when he goes away, and he says he doesn't like saying “going away”, and he says he'll come back. He talks about his apartment in Milan where he is living(I too understood it is not his). He also says he has to go to LA in January to finish the new record, and that he had the choice to tour Italy in January or make the new album and he decided for the latter, because he has to do his main job, writing songs.

Then they talk about his interest in writing, that happened accidentally; and then there is Myriam's question, already translated, and the funny bit about having 4 or 5 kids.

Sorry for the very quick translation, but I hope it helps! :)

    - He finally abandoned doing electronic music!

    - He's going to go LA to FINISH his 4th album. Finish!! Finishhhhh!!!

    - He's gonna focus on his Main job, Main JOB!!!!!

    :pbjt:

  3. I thought the idea was that this edition is "Italian" (photo shooting done in Italy)? Maybe I understood wrong :dunno: Anyone knows?

No I just guess this must be official worldwide Universalmusic hit compilation, not only Universalmusic Italy. THe booklets could be different in other countries, of course, and I guess at least in Korea the music label will use last time's photoshoot stuffs

  4. When he visited Seoul, he had a photoshoot session with Universal music Korea and the photographer said it's for new magazine edition album which is going to be released at the end of this year. I only thought that's TOOL magazine edition but now guess those amazing photobook must be included in this best compilation album :teehee: They took quite a lot of photos, a famous costumes designer team was involved but just a couple of teasers were released so far, I bet now this is time to have the result of that!!

  5. I watched a bit of the first episode and the thing that really upsets me about these shows is that these judges (and now Mika which I still can't believe because it's incredibly disturbing) are making singers and potential future song writers lose hope in their musical abilities just by telling them whether they suck or are amazing in one single moment. It's wrong because no musician or singer is excellent at what they do from the beginning. They have to be encouraged to become better and they will if they believe in themselves but these judges are mocking so many potentially gifted and creative people and telling them they're either good enough or never will be and it sickens me.

And making music and singing shouldn't be about being famous on a TV show; It should be about expressing yourself and being creative.

I'm just really disappointed in Mika after seeing him making those girls cry and mocking them; 'Cause who knows? Maybe they'll never want to try to be better singers after Mika made fun of them like a little childish brat.

I love Mika, but gosh he can be so inconsiderate sometimes. I would never want to make money shattering other potential and creative artists' dreams, ever.

    Can't agree more.

That clip exactly showed why I hysterically criticized and even hated about him being on that program. I had to see that clip because this is on my twitter timeline all day, and made me make sure that I will never ever see Mika on this program.

I want to keep myself to be his fan for a long time.

  6. :sneaky2: I really don't understand why MIKA is so keen on swearing, all the time, now also in Italien!? I really don't like it at all  It sounds unpolite on stage, but that's his gig and show. I find it worse that he's doing it on a TV show, with thousands of people watching the program, at all ages - it's unnecessary -and quite rude, not funny, imo ::sneaky2::doh:

    Love,love

    me

I watched that fraction of the vid and it was not funny at all.. :sneaky2: very rude and unnecessary.

  7. from Facebook : "Nearly the weekend... Have you got good things planned? There are some exciting things being planned here, we'll let you know more next week. Have a happy weekend everyone!"

    - More Show Dates : :excite:

    - Hot interview or message for fans : :boing:

    - Some other FB competitions :mf_rosetinted:

    - New Commercial collabration :uhno:

    wonder what it is :teehee:

  8. Thank you Maurizia for the scan!

So, here's a little summary about what he wrote:

Dear Mika, even if you have 80 years I hope you are still eccentric

Mika wrote a letter on August 17 to himself more adult. In fact, he can not read it unless the eve of his 80th birthday.

He starts writing that he does not know where in the world he will be because in recent years so many things have happened that there is no way to predict, however, he hopes that he is still alive.

Surely he will wonder why and the reason is simple: 30 years in the past wanted to say that life was almost over (a sort of "Twilight"). The only reason why he believes that they are important is because when you've 30 years, you become you become aware. The boundaries that demarcate the difference between childhood and adolescence are very labile and thus people live as though adulthood and childhood were the same thing.

He writes from the basement of the house in London with his dog that has just fallen asleep in a corner and his mother who asked him if he wanted a cup of tea. He says that surely they will be dead at that age and he thinks that surely he will know for sure what it means to lose someone dear and probably the he will think that he is very lucky but they both know that in the end they are not so perfect up close.

He is also sure that over time he will have made real friends and he does not speak of the famous ones because they come and go. he prays that he will remain so eccentric as he is now and that his friends will be a bit crazy.

Then he talks about the world situation by saying that the U.S. and the UK are guarding us, the Middle East is in turmoil, the city of Aleppo that he had visited at 25 is completely destroyed, Russia is anti-gay but the marriage in Europe and America is seen in a positive way except in Italy.

He also wonders if he had children and how because he knows he is not never been with a girl. However, he hopes that he has them and they will look like him. Then he asks how the music will be in the future and that he would really like to know it now...

He concludes by saying that he could write till to infinity but he must stop. He reminds him that in the end they are not so different and if he does not recognize himself in these words, unfortunately, something went wrong. Only one thing he hopes, that he has not become bald because in that case he hopes that he will bring a hat.

The last words are: "With all the love in the world...me, you."

Thank you for this summary :wub2:

  9. Thank you for your detailed report! :flowers2:

I wonder what makes this festival a kid's gathering :naughty:

Any crowded concert would be a huge something to children in this small island.. Festival for children too! Not only children..maybe it's a festival for whole inhabitants of this country!

I love the pic of this island tooken by fans and Mika! it's now on my list of places to go in my life also! :wub2: it's like a dreamland!

  10. Just listened the record! I'm so fascinated to hear some new intro of several songs - Elle Me Dit, Rain, Celebrate.. so on... so new! how fresh they sounds!

Just few gigs left, so I thought those gig would be not different from previous ones - OMFG I was so wrong. He never stop changing details, always try to improve things. :wub2:

And his voice is full of energy and happiness after short breaktime... :aah:

  11. I think this sentence is worthy of note:

"On a pris une semaine de vacances et mtn on est de retour parce que franchement je me suis emmerdé comme un chien vous me manquez trop"

"I took a week of holiday and I go back because frankly I'm pissed off like a dog... I miss you too much"

oh. he has to be away from us for months to make a new album.. doesnt he?:naughty:

I decide to have slight hope - maybe we dont have to wait too long this time.. he will damn miss us again:wub2:

  12. annyeonghasaeyo :bye:

I have a question about KPop...I watched a music video years and years and years ago...it was a female singer. It was a slowish sort of song, the MV was very, very white and bows and arrows were included. Does anyone have absolutely any idea what song I'm talking about??

Any help is appreciated!!! Kamsahamnida :)

bows and arrows? clues are not good enough... any Korean traditional things included in that MV?

  13. It was all so great once again :wub2:

I'm really happy with how things went. I spent a very nice time in Liège on Thursday and on the day of the gig, with people I know and meeting new people. I've never felt so much part of this community than at this gig, so thanks everybody :original:

The gig in itself was fantastic. I had a very nice spot in the front row middle for the first time, without even coming the earliest at all, it was just luck and people around me being very nice. I think this is the gig I found the shortest ever.. It was not in reality but it means I really had the time of my life. Couldn't stop singing and dancing on every single song. (Like most people apparently, as I could see when I sometimes turned around) I agree that Mika wasn't as chatty as I've seen him before, but he was still in a great mood and gave us his best. I loved all of the gig but I have stuck in my memory the image of him throwing the light bulb ahead of him singing Underwater while we were all shouting out the chorus with him... Beautiful :wub2:

I waited for him after the gig too, it was a long wait but at least we knew this was the right place to be and we knew he was still there as the kind security guy told us. When Mika arrived I was really happy that it went well with everybody waiting for their turn. I got the Korean fan club calendar (that I got as a gift from a Korean fan) signed and Mika even asked me what it was, how I got it and said it's cool. As far as I remember he asked me the questions in English and I answered in French but never mind we both seemed to understand each other :aah: He looked amazing once again. I have a few pics and vids that I will post as soon as they are uploaded.

    haha you're so lucky!

when I showed him that one, he said nothing but just signed and gone.. when the designer of that calendar did that to him and said she made that , he said just quick 'amazing' and quickly gone... and when you show him that one he got interested finally :naughty:

    He likes you.... :mf_rosetinted: LOLLL

  14. Yes, the girl we met with ArtemisArco is Ji Eun! :wink2:

hahaha yes!! Ji Eun. Thanx to her I could meet one of the Korean illuminated lolipop (or that's the way I call it) XD

haha then you're all in the front row! saw pics of yours from her twitter or something .. :naughty: except her there were some others all over the field... I saw tweets...blogs.... so many Korean fans started to travel because of Mika :mf_rosetinted:

  15. mika truth :naughty:

we're already so used to these kind of nonsense... long time fans

    :naughty:

That's true! I would be grateful if Mika decide learn Portuguese. Haha. My English is awful, my Spanish is not that bad and my Italian is in the pre-beginner level. :aah: Anyway, I think I understood the most part of the interview, Mika speaks slowly and this is good.

So... Mika and Elio will get married? I'm happy for they. So, if Mika is pregnant, i think Elio is the father. :teehee:

It took years to get over English, but still totallly blind to other languages .. the problem is..he speaks French Spanish Italian more than English these days and I feel totally alien from another planet..
