Wow micafan! Do you know mika in person? Where did you here this? I assumed he tweeted it but he didn't! sorry, it's probably something obvious but I'm curious!

I had a dream that he was workin on the album on my computer and he gave me the first ever copy. That would have been incredible , but it was only a dream.

Well, he's tired so it's likely to be even more 'almost done' than last time. I seriously can't wait for the day he says that it's done. I'll be skipping about like a mad person!

His words aren't trusted without backup. There is backup though- we've heard a couple of the new songs, seen pics of him working with people. Just have faith- he's mika (obviously!) and we're his fans:naughty:

 

Some of the stuff he says in interviews probably isn't true, but he certainly speaks French so that one isn't a lie. I'm not sure about the story of him walking the streets of Paris at night alone when he was a kid though. Ah, mika, he's so funny and mysterious!

Mum ( looking at a Mika photo on my wall) "gosh, he's very good looking isn't he?". Like someone on a previous post, trying not to blush, I agreed . Even my dad said he was good-looking one time.

My dad <3 LICM, especially lollipop. My mums says she doesn't mind him . My brothers on the other hand call him 'Mika the screecher' . stupid brothers, they're the ones missing out.

You might want to re-listen then It is not the melody itself though, but a ‘riff’. It was used already in one particular remix of Rain that Mika played on the Imaginarium tour, so that’s almost like his.

I doubt he will use it on the album though, it is really a direct take. Or he can credit Coldplay or whoever they stole it from as they were actually sued for stealing it from someone else.

 

Yes, it does have the same dum-dum-dum-da-dum-dum-da-dum-dum ( can't believe I just typed that out!) rhythm. It is just a rhythm though and is likely to have nothing to do with coldplay. Seriously, I've just been listening to the new olly murs album, and all of the songs sound like others, although it's not credited. Olly murs certainly isn't bad, Mika is just so much better.

 

People’s expectations and musical tastes are different. I personally consider EMD as a ‘better crafted’ song than this one.EMD is kind of silly but perfect for 12-16 year olds.

82 RdM would be more to my taste and I like the verses but the way the chorus is building up sounds awkward to me and in my view, it doesn’t really match the verses. And then there is the Coldplay bit of course, that doesn't even seem to be an integral part of the song. All in all, it is not what I’d call a masterpiece in this form. He may have changed it during recording and arranging though, so let’s see what comes out of it on the record.

Yep! Agree with u there. As a teenager, I can verify that elle me dit is very catchy. I just prefer Karen.

Overrated- whatta song! I don't even know what it's about, it's just like an explosion of emotion. Maybe it is just like grace Kelly. 'why dont you like me?' 'would you hate me?' Overrated almost brings me to tears with the 'in this perfect place' bit. It really is perfect.

I would love mika to release it onto iTunes but not on TOOL, it is not called a NEW album for nothing!

Sorry Melisanda, I was just expressing my opinion. Whilst I agree with you that because there is not 'infinite space' on the album, he should have new material, I do not feel like I really know hmdylm yet. It is still to be explored.

Anyway, hopefully, we can all stop speculating soon because TOOL will come out. There had better be some pretty awesome stuff after this long wait. Tbh though I would love it even if it was terrible. It won't be terrible though, it's mika we're talking about here!

I really like hmdylm, it just sounds so mikaish. Whilst I want new material on the new album, hmdylm would be good. A bit like 'l'm falling' and ' I see you', there is a lot of room to make it better. I think the new album will be less typically mikaish so hmdylm would be a great addition.

Oh , idioms, that's what they're called! For someone who apparently can write very well, there is still so much English language I do not know.

I think idioms ( new word for me) occur in most languages (eg Polish), but in different ways. Even for a 15 year old ( and I'm not alone) they are hard to understand.

Ruth and Mary, the answer is 'should HAVE!'. it's a common misconception amongst English people that it is correct to write 'should of'. This just comes from speech. The 'h' on ' have ' gets dropped and it is obviously wrong to write 'ave' . 'Of' is written because it sounds close, especially with some accents.

English is my first language but I usually don't understand those weird sayings. It took me years to work out what 'pot calling the kettle black' meant, not least because pots and kettles are generally not black. English folk are strange sometimes!

As for slang ( I'm not brilliant at that either) , people say something's 'sick' when they mean it's great. There are chavs ,who tend to be teenagers adopting a certain dress sense ( a cap etc.) and spending their time sitting around with their other Chav friends on a bike that is much too small for them.

They say 'innit', 'mush' and 'blad', leading to this kind of Chav joke:

What do you call a Chav in a blender? Mush

What do you get when a Chav cuts themselves?

Well, chavs are just part of the very strange English culture!

I dream about Mika nearly every night ( I really am that obsessed). It's anything from being at his concert to him sitting at my computer, working on the album. I also have those nightmares that I start to not like him, or that his new album is rubbish , although I'm sure neither will happen.

Well my Dad's Polish, but I don't speak any and I've never been to Poland . I feel that Poland is part of me that I have not been able to explore. Oh well, I'm mixed like MIKA!

Ooh this song is brilliant. Although Elle me Dit and Blame it on the weather did not give me that 'ooh' kind of feeling for me at first, Karen( 82 Rue Des Martyr ) really did. Just a shame it probably won't be released in England.

Although I know 'viva la vida' by coldplay, I don't think Karen ever sounds like it. Underwater has very similar ( if not the same) chords to 'set fire tO the rain'. This is no plagiarism though, and I doubt if Mika has even heard ' set fire to the rain', it's just a common chord progression. Mika usually does this , and puts wonderful melodies and harmonies on top. (good for my slightly haphazard self-taught piano playing!)

Sorry, dont see how this song could be second rate or not singing. Maybe you are talking about Elle Me Dit. IMO this is not mika's best song ever, but is still really catchy ( I'm always going round singing 'danse ,

I seriously can't wait. It's been so long... I think it will be different from the first two albums, but if it's mika, it will be amazing.

Music at the moment ( apart from mika) is seriously terrible, so if mika releases a single from TOOL before the whole album, he will have huge hits again. Can't wait for that either.

His new album still seems so mysterious. Will there really be songs like 'the fly' on there?I thought someone made it up! Maybe he could release 'overrated' and 'Holy Johnny' properly as well as plenty of new material. This are two seriously awesome songs!
