Step 3, I'm calling you baby
Three steps away from me
Step 4, we can get married
Step 5, top it with a cherry

I love this interview so ridiculously much <3 It's fascinating to hear how he came up with all this in more depth than "I found Nick Littlemore in Montreal" and ****.
BTW does this 22-year-old have a name at all?

Another update for us Dutchies, as the prices have changed again and, unfortunately, the release dates as well. On Bol.com it's now all 21th. They are kidding, right?
Normal, UK tracklist for €15,99 (RELEASE DATE 14 OR 21/9/2012)
http://www.freerecordshop.nl/muziek/origin-of-love-mika-0602537150236
Deluxe, UK tracklist for €22,50 (RELEASE DATE 21/9/2012)
http://www.freerecordshop.nl/muziek/origin-of-love-deluxe-mika-0602537151516
Deluxe, FRENCH tracklist for €23,50 (Release date still 14/9/2012)

EDIT EDIT: Prices have changed again and the release dates as well. On Bol.com it's now all 21th. They are kidding, right?

Netherlands first
They're getting the CD (UK version) on the 14th, I think.
Well, one song is 0,99 on itunes. For the Deluxe edition, there're 19 songs so.. that doesn't change anything :'/ (Not much at least).
Usually, I don't buy CDs when they cost more than 15... But it doesn't apply when I'm really looking forward to listen to a CD
You could of course buy one cd and download the rest of the songs from iTunes... At least that way you don't have buy the same songs twice

Don't know if anyone's still interested anyway, but I am still trying to work out posting the video in HD with subtitles. It's frustrating: it's just sitting on my HD recorder perfectly, but it's too long (had to record either 2 hours or nothing) to get on a usb stick, even if the usb in itself is large enough for 6 hours. My dad came home yesterday, if I dare ask him (he's rather agitated atm ) to both fix my internet and get the recording onto my computer it will be up soon Very sorry!
Edit: I've got internet but no HD video, so I'm just going to put up a rip of the video on the official website with translations. Almost done!
OEF! Not quite done being uploaded yet, but here it is:
-
I need to ask my dad how to put the clip from the HD recorder to my computer, but I think I'll manage to have it up in the next few hours or so

I just saw that you can buy a version of Origin Of Love at the swedish online store that is much more expensive than the other versions you can buy (44.95 euro) and it will be released the 25th of September.
http://cdon.eu/music/mika/origin_of_love_%5bimport%5d-21258555
But that's all I know, they don't tell the tracklist. So has anyone here the slightest idea of which kind of version it might be?
Combination of both versions? Otherwise I have no freaking clue
EDIT: UK&French, that is

Got a SMS from my father in Malta earlier this evening with the shocking news of RTL Boulevard commenting on Mika being gay. I mean, it wasn't the news that was shocking, but the extreme tardiness, LOL! Anyways, there is a repeat tonight at 00:35-ish at (Dutch tv station) RTL4, but I am recording & subtiteling it as well for anyone who wants to see it

huh but I didn't see it xD anyways, I like Karen too haha! I am going to buy that french version too.. on freerecordshop
It's confuuuusing all these versions XD I was looking at the French version after I'd seen the deluxe UK version and was flabbergasted not to find Elle Me Dit on the French version, even though it was on the UK 2nd cd. Turned out it was on the first haha.
Anyways, I wanted to say that with The Boy Who Knew Too Much, I went to the FRS store twice to pick up my order, because even though they had the cd's sitting on the shelf already, my order wasn't in yet. Eventually, he gave me one off the shelf in stead, hehehehe. Don't know whether they are going to have both versions in store on the day of release (a)
-
Haha, he is allready working on his 4th album!
Cough cough XD
-
I didn't know him at all and I really like the songs I could find on Youtube !
Has he always sung in English ? :> *looking for nice Dutch singers*
The only song I've ever heard him perform in duch is this cover:
My all time favourite song in Dutch is Lopen Tot De Zon Komt. I still can't listen to it without crying my heart out so you'll have to look it up yourself, but you'll be fine It's by Acda en De Munnik, which are two men who write songs with amazing lyrics and quite simple music to go along with them, it that order anyways, I love them.

Updated :
Yes, actually! No official statements as far as I know, tho. The Dutch Free Record Shop does, however, mention the same release date for the Dutch (=UK) version (14th of September). And even more amazing, they have three versions available:
Normal, UK tracklist for €20:
http://www.freerecordshop.nl/muziek/origin-of-love-mika-0602537150236
Deluxe, UK tracklist for €23,50
http://www.freerecordshop.nl/muziek/origin-of-love-deluxe-mika-0602537151516
Deluxe, FRENCH tracklist for €23,50
http://www.freerecordshop.nl/muziek/origin-of-love-french-mika-0602537140923
EDIT: Now available for pre-order + prices for the normal & uk deluxe version went up a bit
p.s. it says the 14th of September for the French version as well...which I do think it's weird since it's supposed to come out in France the 17th

Apparently it's going to be on the Dutch radio station 538 a LOT next week:
http://www.radio538.nl/muziek/#alarmschijf/item/mika-ft-pharrell-williams-celebrate
The 'alarmschijf' is a song that gets played so often that usually by the end of the week I never want to hear it again... ever. I think being the alarmschijf at 538 is generally a good thing for a song though. And this week I just might tune in
Yeah baby, let's teach my driving teacher for hating him.. mwuahahaha finally found something 538 is good for (A)

Whoa, one step at a time. I am still waiting for the Radio City Hall show he said he would do in 2010.
I think it was just his mediocrity. His career was launched in the rest of the world because of Take That and Americans had no exposure to British boy bands because they had their own huge market of boy bands and didn't need to import any more.
I know Robbie Williams has a huge X factor or he could have never been such a massive star anywhere, but it's not an easy thing to communicate to people who otherwise have no interest in him. I mean all they have to go on is his face (cute but not exceptional) and his songs (decent, but not exceptional).
It took me years to really understand the appeal of Robbie Williams and I was living in the UK in the late 90s. It wasn't until I saw videos of him playing to hundreds of thousands of people that I began to understand why he actually had an audience that huge.
Perhaps my English has gotten worse then?
"Gay" is very matter of fact. It's like saying he's a "Lebanese singer" or a "pop singer" or whatever. But flamboyant and camp implies that his music or his performances or his image are really stereotypically gay, gay, gay. Technically that's not what flamboyant means. It just means colourful, bold, etc. But it's a lot less likely that someone would describe Katy Perry as flamboyant than Mika, so you know what I mean?
In Canada people will say someone is "flaming" to describe gay men who are really obviously and stereotypically gay and I suppose it has the same basis as "flamboyant" since "flamboyant" comes from the French for "flame". And it's really not a polite thing to say or publish in an article.
Most of the negative comments I get on my YouTube videos are videos where people stumbled across it because they were looking for something else. Like there is one clip with Ricky Gervais so it's Ricky Gervais fans watching it and not just people looking for Mika videos.
He gets a lot of criticism for doing a Nina Simone cover on Jools Holland too.
They do here in the Netherlands as well, but honestly I believe it's not usually that hurtful to say so. A few weeks ago our Gay Parade was broadcast live on national television and afterwards the two presenters had a tiny scooter accident which was caught on tape as well. You could hear someone in the background shouting to keep away a cigarette, but for us viewers it was not clear why. The presenter of the show which broadcast the accident explained it was because of a bit of gas that had leaked from the scooter, and they were afraid for it catching fire, especially with all these homosexuals about to burst into flames as well

Wouter Hamel, Lohengrin!

No one?
I have no problem whatsoever with moving back to London but I need an apartment first haha.

Oh. Is it sad?
Nah, sad's not the right word... But emotional, yes

There's no page 7. Just click on the links for the bottom two pics and the article is there.
I notice now that they dont load completely, quite strange. I'll try again later at a different computer. Thanks

Thanks for posting Christine!
I would like to buy the mag: do you know where i can find it?
Definitely at Itunes, wouldn't know about the paper version tho...
-
I have been saying that for weeks. I think my exact words were "a stop on the bus to Gaytown".
Wellll... At least they didn't say he went to one of those gay-to-straight camps and quit half-way through XD
-
I love it. It's such a down-to-earth and sincere (come on had to use that word ) interview. Like how he's suddenly explaining toy boy as well, hehe.
Btw, I'm missing page 7 thanks for posting!

I have finaaaallyyyy figured out how to get rid of the annoying radio silences in my recordings, which means I now have recording directly from the computer, without extra cameras and sh.t. Thing is that I would know how to upload it to mika tube... Anybody here to tell me? (a)

I'm desperately trying not to listen to any of the snippets, which is particulary heart for this one. I hate/love that it's one line that has me hooked because of 1 memory. How does he DO THAT?!
