We can keep on trying, even if I am not sure if people's suggestions are really taken into consideration

Yeah! They say they do but of course you never know what happens behind the scenes... i do think we got at least 80 to 100 people to vote and you would think that's enough... but maybe in the end they decided that this is not what the Dutch audience would want to hear idk :(

No, not today. Currently another song is running, namely Let Me Down Slowly by Alec Benjamin. They play it two times a day, and each time people can vote "repeat" or "niet" (niet means the song has lost). The maximum time a song can run is a week and if it manages to complete the whole week with more repeat votes than niet votes (which will likely be the case with Let Me Down Slowly) the song will be taken up in the regular airplay of the radio station. A new round will start on Monday, so then we will know whether SOAO has made it!

So each week they will pick one song that will get played in Repeat Of Niet. If it gets more Niet votes already the first time it gets played it will immediately be replaced with another song, but it can also take a few days or a whole week. Every week it's one song that has to "battle" basically, but it's not that they put two songs against eachother or anything. A song just needs to get enough requests to even get a chance to be played for Repeat Of Niet, which is the stage SOAO is in now.

I hope i explained this correctly, it's actually quite complicated if you're unfamiliar with the format of the show and im terrible at explaining things, im sorry 😅😆

Where are the dutsch fans, can anyone explain to us the concept of this emission, it's said on their website that it's a daily program, so are we gonna have any information about the result today

     Streams spotify

    Day 1 : 142 217

    Day 2 : 61 004

    Day 3: 41 052

    Day 4: 51 099

    Day 5: 51 696

    Day 6: 52 038

After 8 days the song reachs 489 308

And the bad news is that now it's out from new friday music playlists (italy,....) so may be for next days streams are gonna be lower

Maybe we could try and do another streaming party tomorrow to keep the streams consistent. I'll ask the girls from the Mika Promo Squad about it 😄

Thank you for mapping all of this out by the way! I personally don't know where to see the stream counts, but maybe that's because I don't have Spotify premium 🤔

In any case it's amazing that SOAO is now already Mika's 5th most popular song on Spotify, behind only songs of off LICM! 😱😁😁😄

  5. Hello everyone!!

There is a chance that Sound Of An Orchestra will be played on the Dutch radio, but I need your help for that!

There is a radio station here that has a show called Repeat Of Niet in which they play a song requested by their listeners, and then each time they play it, the listeners have to vote if they want to hear the song again or not. And I was thinking it would be great if SOAO could compete in this show! But for that it first needs to gain many requests, because it has to compete against much more popular songs by American artists with a much more generic sound! (That's what Dutch people love lol).

So, how can you help? What you need to do is click this link right here: https://qmusic.nl/repeatofniet then scroll to the bottom of the page and fill out the form that you will find there. In the first box you need to put the name of the artist and the title of the song, so "MIKA, Sound Of An Orchestra" in the second box you need to put your name, the third box asks for your phone number but leave that blank otherwise they will call you to ask why you chose this song and it will all be in Dutch! 😆😆. And then in the last box you need to put the Youtube link to Sound of an Orchestra (make sure you put the link of Mika's official channel!!). When that is done you click the red button that says "verzenden" on it and you're done!! It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes and you would help Dutch fans a lot with it 😁😁.

If the song gains enough requests, it will be played, then people can vote and hopefully they will vote repeat so it will be played more often! And songs that get voted to be repeated many times, often end up becoming massive hits, so who knows!

Thank you in advance for your help, i also attached an image showing what the form should look like! And don't hesitate to ask if you need any help, i hope everything was clear! 😊

@Jaela, I put your own on, because I love what you do, but this one had no watermark.

I wouldn't have taken it away because I don't think it's worth stealing other people's things and making them look like his.
Sorry for you if anyone else does!  :huglove:

I went to pick up the original on your Insta. :wink2:

I mean, it really does clearly have a watermark, but it's fine hahaha

Thank you! Yeah I'm not around much here because I prefer Twitter and Instagram, but I was looking for some inspiration and then I found this thread 😁

  8. Wow I'm so happy I found this thread cause i live for Mika memes and i found some good ones here that I hadn't seen before hahaha. If you allow me to do some shameless self promo too: i run a meme page on Instagram called @mika_memes, i saw a meme of mine had also already been shared here, so thank you for that 😋

From a practical point of view the packs of pens are probably already in production, the ad campaign planned etc. The packaging would have to be altered to state that a percentage of the proceeds are going to UNHCR. I do support a polite request and have signed/shared the petition on facebook (I manage to cope with social media despite my advanced years lol!)

Yes, you're probably right on that, i thought of that too. But well, as the legendary Chris Martin once said: if you never try you'll never know! 😝

At this point i don't think it's going to happen anymore, but we gathered over 200 signatures, and it was great to see the fandom united for a good cause, so we surely did get something good out of it! 😄

As said before I'm SURE it went from a good intention

Just not sure that twitter is the best way to ask

It's only my opinion and in case you'll succeed I just will have to say "well done"

I personally think Twitter is a great way to communicate with businesses and gather support for a cause, but that might be a bit of a generation gap there 😉

I don't think anyone doubts your good intentions and I, for one, would love to see this initiative succeed. I don't even think there's anything wrong in politely asking Pilot if they would consider donating some of the profits. However, I think what some of us are concerned about is that in your previous post you said: "So far we haven't gotten a reaction from the company, despite tweeting a lot, but we will not give up, we hope for a reaction". This sounds like people are sending Pilot lots of tweets about this, which could annoy them and make them think twice about working with Mika in the future. When they made a deal with him, they were obviously hoping to make a profit (because that's how businesses operate), and they're not required to donate any of it if they don't want to. If they do, that's great, but being flooded with donation requests from his fans probably won't help the cause and might even hurt Mika's future business prospects.

Thank you for taking time to explain your point of view! What i meant by that sentence is that we will continue to gather signatures for the petition. I don't think we're spamming them at all, personally I have sent them a tweet twice, but without reaction, so I gave up on doing that. As for your concerns about our influence on Mika's projects, I think that you vastly overrate our impact. It's not like we're Mika's representatives? It would have been different if this was something issued by MFC I guess, but this is nothing official, so I don't see how it could possibly harm Mika. I also don't think Pilot is too bothered by us tweeting them anyway, they don't seem very active on social media and I'm sure they have more important things to care about than a couple tweets in their mentions. So no worries!

  12. Hey no offense but why such bitter reactions about the UNHCR petition all of the sudden?? We're not forcing anyone, we just thought we'd give it a try. I've already explained why earlier in the thread, if you could just read that i'm sure things will be clearer to you. No one has ever said "we want Mika and Pilot to donate money to UNHCR", we simply said we thought it would be a nice idea to see if it would be possible for Pilot to do that, given the fact that 24 pens of 3 euros each are gonna bring quite a lot of money, and the link with pens and education (UNHCR projects for children in refugee camps) can easily be made. It's just a unique action that we came up with, there's no need to go all serious and negative about it? We had good intentions so who are you to criticize that.

  13. Heyy, could you all please also sign the petition? Our idea is to ask Pilot Pens to donate part of (or all :das:) of the profit made from the pens designed by Mika to the UNHCR! I mean, he's the embassador of UNHCR, they help refugee children, also with their education, and Pilot Pens sells school supplies, so it all adds up!

So far we haven't gotten a reaction from the company, despite tweeting a lot, but we will not give up, we hope for a reaction and a petition signed by many would help support our cause enormely!

Thank you all in advance :)
