  1. I started nearly crying when I saw this! I am absolutely obsessed with phantom and have been saying for years how much I want Mika to sing anything from Phantom. This was honestly a wish I did not think was ever coming true. I am so ridiculously happy! I can't wait to hear what he does with it. I would love to hear him break out that classically trained Baritone he doesn't use nearly enough; however the Phantom is not necessarily a very deep voice. While Broadway usually casts actors with very deep voices in the role, the first phantom ever (Michael Crawford) is a tenor and generally sang the role in a higher register. The thing with Phantom is that his voice isn't supposed to be supernaturally deep or sexy, it's just supposed to be supernatural. He's otherworldly and puts Christine into a literal trance with his voice. My personal favorite Phantom singer is Peter Jöback -he's not super popular and a lot of people hate his voice but I really adore the unique and ethereal nature he puts into the songs. It's very easy to believe that he's a sort of otherworldly character.

Wow I'm so happy about this :wub2:

Some people say in Facebook that he needs support from his fans, that he is in a period of doubt, and that explains his behaviour during The Voice (even if it's recorded, some fans felt this kind of sadness in his eyes sometimes...)

As a pretty new fan, do you feel the same?

Was it like that for the last album too?

I know this whole convo was last week but I haven't been on in a while and I have something to add so I'm gonna add it :lmfao:

I agree with everyone else - I'm not worried about Mika. Well, actually I am worried about Mika, but I'm worried about his arm not his mental health LOL (HOW did he hurt that arm? he better tell the story at some point). I tend to worry about the people I love, so I get concerned about him every time he gets sick (which seems to be often) but I don't really ever worry about his mental state. And this is why: I think he's just one of those people who feels things deeply. I think there are some people who simply feel every emotion more acutely, and I think Mika is one of them. At the same time, he's also an incredibly resilient person - nothing ever keeps him down long. I think the writing/recording process is hardcore for him like he says, but I think it's cathartic, and I think the depth of emotion he feels, and then puts into his work, is a primary part of the reason his work is so good! But the key to understanding deep feeling people is that deep thought/intense emotion isn't sad or negative - it's just a sort of thoughtful state. My favorite word here is "pensive". I think it's easy to forget that Mika is quite a serious and deep man, because he also happens to be very energetic and charismatic, which often is more noticeable than the thoughts in the background. I think Mika is perfectly fine and happy - at worst, perhaps the writing process has him feeling thoughtful, and at best he's bouncing off the walls like he always does and is just being bad at social media as he often is. The key is that pensive, perhaps more subdued, or more internally focused periods are very positive states of feeling for some people (I include myself in this, to be honest) and I think Mika is one of those people. He's lovely, goofy, generally quite happy, empathetic, thoughtful, deep, and sometimes pensive and introspective - not sad or down, just thoughtful. So in short I think he seems like himself, goofy and lovely - and if there is any calmer or more serious threads there, it's just his tendency for thoughtfulness and yes, some minor anxiety about the new album - because let's face it, who wouldn't be slightly anxious about that! In general, he seems to have been the healthiest and happiest he's been in a while - maybe ever - over the past two years or so (despite some overwork and tiredness); I've never seen him look happier than he did on Casa Mika - and I think he's just fine!
    (except for the arm though)
(Mika, what did you do to your arm!)

What??????  Charleston is just about 7 hours from here.

I can do you one better! I live. In Saint Augustine. I have spent absolutely countless hours in the exact spot where he is standing at Flagler College. Based on the photo he posted from Charleston BEFORE he posted the Saint Augustine one and knowing how long it takes to drive from here to there, I think he must have been here Monday. I was in a shopping mall parking lot like 5 miles away. I could have literally driven over there and hugged the man himself, if I could have known.

I might never actually get over this one.
Dear sweet Mika, I gently request you post where you are while you're still there next time:fisch:

For the non-french born who are as confused as I was, this explained quite a lot! This is such an adorable thing and I find it so endearing to think that this is what little Mika spent his childhood watching :wub2: Make you feel like children's TV has gone rather downhill - nothing we have is quite this lovely!

  5. Jumping in to say one thing: I understand the potential issue with people only appearing to take part in competitions and leave, but I s o agree that making this site paid would be terrible. I hate to disagree so vehemently, but merely reading that made me a little anxious. Mika's fans are mostly young, younger than me (I'm 20), even, and making this site paid would lock a lot of them out. Additionally, there are too many other resources (news, subtitles) on this site to take it out of easy public access. Speaking for myself, if I suddenly had to pay to be a part of this site, I would never be able to. It's not that I don't care enough, not at all, but that I'm..well, to be honest, rather poor, and could not afford that. In my opinion, things that lock people out based on money always end up selecting not the most dedicated fans, but the richest ones. The fact that this a truly official fan club which is free is something that I admire greatly about it, as many official things like this are paid.

I think requiring a small amount of forum use, a couple posts a month on average, is a good middle ground. Someone's post frequency here is not a foolproof meter of how dedicated/invested/appreciative someone might be, as there are a lot of people who might be the biggest fans ever but do their interacting with other fans on other platforms such as twitter or Instagram, so it's not perfect, but it's one of the best fixes I can think of that doesn't lock anyone out by an potentially un-equal or insurmountable barrier, like money.

I agree that Mika's internet presence isn't great. His website is horribly poorly updated and his official Facebook is weirdly managed. But this isn't something easy to fix other than Mika hiring new IT people.

(I'm majoring in IT - hey Mika, I'm so available)

    Hi all,

This morning I called ProOffice in The Netherlands and they were amazed by the amount of orders. They will send every one who ordered a mail, regarding shipping costs and the time of delivery. They will ship to any country. If I can help with anything, like address etc, just ask and I can help.

Maybe I can give an example:

    Voornaam: Ingrid (surname)

    Achternaam: Luberti (backname)

    Straatnaam: Kapteynstraat (streetname)

    Huisnr: 107 (house number)

Toev: - (maybe app number in cause you live in a flat)

    Plaatsnaam: Hilversum (town)

    Land: The Netherlands (country)

You can pay by PayPal or ideal(which is immediately by bankcard).

You do not need to fill in any company name if you pay by those two.

I still laugh when I think back at my phonecall, the guy couldn't stop laughing and being amazed by orders from Korea, Japan, Finland etc :)))))))))

YES! This is what I was waiting for! Bring me those sweet sweet pens!

I love pens for some reason, I'm in heaven :lmfao:

  7. Random but still Mika related but doesn't fit into any thread: I really want Mika to read for an audiobook. I don't even care what, I just want a nice long audio recording of his lovely voice:wub2: There's things like the art of song and some radio interviews of course but I just really love his speaking voice - I find it so calming. I want a long, uninteruppted, only-mika-talking bit of audio to listen to. A girl can dream...

No, no you are totally fine!! I love talking to other fans on here because everyone here understands how absolutely amazing his is and we could go on and on for hours! I can't talk to any of my friends about him and when I do it drives them crazy! They refuse to listen to his music or look into him, their loss!! I have not watched the other episodes just little snippets....the 1st and 2nd episode of season one on the Subtitles page are linked to other videos so one day I'll go out and find them!

I totally think a Casa Mika marathon needs to happen!! Thank you for sharing that tip! There is sooooo much content in just one episode that it is hard to take it all in at once and anything to make those moments last longer the better.

I do have a quick question. Do you need to watch the episodes in order? & Are there reoccurring characters throughout the season or does he just choose a select number of guests per episode?

Don't ever feel the need to stop! I could go on and on about everything Mika too!

    *rubs hands together*

I'm so happy I can use all my casa mika knowledge! Neither season needs to be watched in order. Last season had more recurring characters than this season, but there weren't really any plots that "developed" in a way where you have to watch in order. I would definitely watch the last episode last, though. It does focus on it being the last one and it pretty emotional so it really feels right to end on it. I feel basically like it's probably best watched in order, but I don't really see any reason you'd have to.

I have a better recommendation on doing the subs:

This is the thread for last season. There's a bunch of links in the first post - both to the sub thread posts with the subtitles and direct links to the episodes - those long "creativemedia3.rai" links. This is my method for subs, and I think the best one: follow the bottom links (the lower links with "1800" after them are HD) for each of the episodes and right click on the video. Click "save video as" and it'll download the episode to your computer. Then, go to the sub thread posts. There's links on the subs thread posts under the embedded Vimeo links which are google drive links and take you to the "SRT" files - SRT files are raw subtitle files with words and the timings. Then open the casa mika episode in a media player with subtitle capability - the built in video player in windows 10 and my personal favorite media player, VLC, both have this ability - and there will be an option to manually add a subtitle file to play with the video. It'll open a file window and you can pick the right SRT file and viola, you have subs!

It sounds complicated but it really isn't! I like doing the subs this way because I can watch the episodes in the highest possible HD, it's easy for me to play on my TV which I usually do, and I can save both the episodes and the subs in one large folder on my hard drive to have forever and be able to watch without internet.

I remember this is The Origine of  BIRDY shirt, Mika wearing on November 11, 2010 at SUE, Santiago de Chile.

I think this shirt is actually really lovely :wub2:

It is kind of funny to see that this is what started this thread, oh the halcyon days when we thought this was weird clothing on Mika :lmfao: no one knew what the future held!

  10. Not really new but I am seconding the idea to make the subtitle thread somehow more obvious/visible, I remember having a hard time finding it to begin with. I've posted about watching Casa Mika with subtitles on Instagram and got flooded with messages about where I got the subs, one of the people who asked me already had an account here and had no idea the sub thread existed! It needs to glow or something :lmfao:

I just had the chance to sit down and watch Season 2 Episode 1 in its entirety. The episode was nearly 3 hours long and I'm still sad its over! I know I'm late to the game as most of you have seen his show before but Casa Mika is so incredible and amazing! It has its funny parts along with the serious ones that move and touch you which made it a spectacular show. I loved Luciana's' speech in the beginning of the show followed by We are golden!:wub2: It really touched me as I was bullied until I found my own voice in the 9th grade. I will NEVER forget the scene where Dita locked Mika in his closet with no clothes! Priceless!! I would have loved to be there in person for those scenes! :lmfao:

(I'm not stalking you, I promise! :lmfao: )

Have you watched all of season one yet? The thing I love most about casa mika is that even though there's only 4 episodes a season, they're 3 hours a piece so there really is a lot of it! It'll be a full 24 hours by the time this season ends, which honestly sounds like a binge dare to me LOL. If people can do 25 hour Harry Potter marathons, maybe a 24 hour Casa Mika marathon needs to happen...

anyway, don't be sad! You have many more hours of Casa Mika ahead of you!

One tip: I really recommend watching the episodes in 2 parts. They're so long that I feel like they're almost too much to really absorb at once, and watching them in 2 parts (I usually watch them over 2 days) really makes it feel like there's more to watch, and it's easier to not be sad about there only being 4 episodes :lmfao: plus, the length means that half an episode is still longer than most movies, so you don't feel like it's over too quick, but you still have something to look forward if you've only watched the first half!

okay I'll stop now I just have a LOT of Casa Mika related emotions :wub2:

Hey! I remember you saying the other day on my introduction post that you were from the US! His show is a relatively new revelation to me and I was wondering what time it plays for you here and where you live stream it if you can? I know it plays at 21:20 but there is a bit of a time difference between there at here. I did make an account through Rai and can access past episodes in Italian. I am working on watching the English versions uploaded hereto catch up so I can take part in conversations here!

I did watch that scene today translated to English and it was absolutely priceless:wub2::lmfao:

I'm on the east coast same as you so it's mid afternoon for me. I believe it's about 4-something, but unfortunately I don't have any advice on live streaming it - I actually never watch it live! I am a little nocturnal (I'm usually awake from like 11 am - 2/3 am) and I'm a college student so the time casa mika is on live is dead in the middle of the part of the day when I'm getting homework done! I always watch it in the evening after it airs on the Rai site. I'm getting some homework done right now so I can start on tonight's episode!

  13. This show always gets even better when I understand what's going on! I adore Luciana even more now. I'm also very very short so I understand her pains :lmfao: Mika and Dita is also SO much funnier with subs! and it was hilarious anyway LOL. I have to ask tho...um...I know some of you were at the recordings. I'm deeply curious how the filming went down for Mika's...um...post-Dita scene. Like, was the audience warned? Obviously it was planned but he looks like he's regretting his choice pretty seriously in that moment. Did they film that mess in one take? I'm so sorry I just...I need more details :lmfao: Mika and his diamonds might be the funniest thing I have ever seen on television and I literally cannot imagine being present for the filming of that. I would have been both rolling on the floor and also VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.
